Are rails included with the Sophia 4?
No. The frame ships without rails. Add a pair under CHOOSE SIDE RAILS on the bed page.
Are the casters included?
Yes. Lockable casters are part of the Sophia 4 frame, not this accessory.
Can I mix rail styles?
Orthex lists three official kits: fixed, retractable short, and retractable long. Pick one pair per order, or call (905) 451-7743 if a therapist asked for a mix.
Do rails replace a caregiver?
No. Rails help a person sit up or stay aware of the edge. They are not a restraint and they are not a handle for getting in or out of bed.
Is the headboard waterproof?
The official kit uses a waterproof pale grey mix cover on the headboard and footboard.
Will this fit a Harmony or Drive bed?
No. These kits are the official Orthex Sophia parts. Do not fit them on another brand's frame.
Can I add this after the bed is delivered?
Yes. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will book a technician visit to fit the kit.
Does ADP cover rails or a headboard?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover hospital beds. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check whether another program fits.
