Description

The Savaria M-Series Clinical is a lithium-ion fixed ceiling-lift motor. Westin Healthcare quotes it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes and care rooms in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The motor stays in the track. A strap lowers a 2-point or 4-point carry bar so a person can be transferred in a sling without a floor lift in the room.

On this page you answer two plain questions: how much weight the lift must handle (up to 440 lb or 600 lb), and whether you walk the lift along the track or the motor drives itself. Track brand adapters and continuous-charge rail details are confirmed when we measure, not on this list. This is not the M-Series Essential (same case family, without the Clinical digital display, 3-Down emergency, or Bluetooth / Wi-Fi option). It is not the M-Series Bariatric (800, 1000, or 1200 lb). For the portable lithium-ion motor you carry between rooms, see the Savaria Monarch portable lift.

Who it is for

This motor is for a person who needs regular overhead transfers and wants the Clinical feature set: a digital display, usage data, selectable speeds, and Savaria's powered 3-Down emergency function. Homes and long-term care rooms use it when a rated track can be planned, or when an older track can take a retrofit motor. Match the Lift setup to the person, not the highest number on the family sheet.

  • Home bedrooms and bathrooms that can take a rated track
  • Long-term care and hospital rooms that want diagnostics and a 3-year battery-included warranty
  • Sites replacing a lead-acid motor on an existing major-brand track

How it lifts

A fixed Clinical motor stays in the track. The strap pays out, the carry bar comes down, loop slings hook onto SureClip latches or a 4-point bull-horn bar, and the motor raises the person. Walk-along means a caregiver guides the lift along the rail by hand. Power travel adds a travel motor with three selectable speeds. Return to Charge sends the motor back to the charger end of the rail when you want that option.

Savaria names a no-fray strap path, soft start and soft stop, and the Clinical 3-Down emergency function: powered emergency lowering, powered emergency raising, and a reset from the floor. The lifting strap is antimicrobial and disinfectable. An optional digital display sits on the handset or on the motor and shows battery level, usage, speed, and warnings. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are factory options for the Savaria Connect app.

Savaria states that M-Series motors can be configured to retrofit onto track systems from major ceiling-lift manufacturers. The installed safe working load is still the lowest rating among motor, track, bar, and sling. The motor must be installed by an authorized dealer. Westin's own team handles delivery and setup through the delivery section below.

Savaria M-Series Clinical specifications

These figures are for Savaria's M-Series Clinical fixed motor. Use Lift setup on this page for the shopper choices. They are not the Essential trim and they are not the Bariatric 800 to 1200 lb cabin.

Savaria's Clinical owner's manual lists a lifting speed of 5.5 cm/s at no load, 5.0 cm/s at 130 kg, 4.5 cm/s at 200 kg, and 4.0 cm/s at 272 kg, a case size of 33 x 30 x 18 cm (13 x 11.75 x 7 in), walk-along weight 6.3 kg (13.9 lb), power-travel weight 8.3 kg (18.3 lb), a lithium-ion battery at 25.2 V 2500 mAh, about 2 hours to charge from empty, a 10-year product life, motor ingress IP20, hand control IPx6 with optional IPx7, ISO 10535:2021 and CAN/CSA Z10535.1:15, and Type BF protection. The current Clinical card lists a lifting range of 231 cm (90.75 in) and lifting clearance of 41 cm (16 in) with a manual 4-point bar or 36 cm (14 in) with a manual 2-point bar. Cycle counts on the Clinical card at a 24 inch lift are 80 cycles at 91 kg, 70 at 130 kg, 45 at 200 kg, and 30 at 272 kg. Savaria prints a 3-year warranty that includes the battery.

Lift setup on this page (plain language):

  • Up to 600 lb, you walk the lift along the track
  • Up to 600 lb, the lift moves itself along the track
  • Up to 600 lb, the lift moves itself and returns to the charger
  • Up to 440 lb, the lift moves itself along the track
  • Up to 440 lb, the lift moves itself and returns to the charger

A 440 lb walk-along Clinical motor is not on the current dealer sell list we price from, so it is not a button here. Ask us if that is what the room needs. Do not read the portable Monarch's 11 lb case onto this fixed motor. Do not read the Bariatric 23.5 kg cabin or 1200 lb rating onto this Clinical motor.

Slings and spreader bar

Savaria lists a 2-point carry bar with a SureClip latch for loop slings, a 4-point bull-horn bar, and a Quick Release System for swapping bars. An optional carry-bar scale is rated 600 lb (272 kg). The Independent Lifter bar is a 440 lb accessory and must not be paired with a higher-rated motor. Use slings Savaria approves for the bar on the motor, and never exceed the lowest SWL of the motor, track, bar, or sling.

Shop Westin's matching sling styles: universal slings, full-body slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings. Sit-to-stand slings belong on sit-to-stand floor lifts, not on this overhead bar. If you want a 450 lb digital Handicare motor instead, see the Handicare A450. If you need a 625 lb C-Series motor, see the Handicare C625.

Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this ceiling lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a ceiling lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Ceiling lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?

Yes. If you only need a lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a ceiling-lift setup before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub and the patient lift rentals page. Westin rents electric floor lifts and ceiling lift setups across Brampton and the GTA.

For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice.

If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Savaria M-Series Clinical warranty

Savaria prints a 3-year warranty, including the battery, on the current M-Series Clinical card. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

Does funding cover a ceiling lift in Ontario?

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Other funding routes can help when the eligibility criteria fit. Westin Healthcare works with those programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before anyone starts paperwork.

What is the safe working load of the M-Series Clinical?

This page prices Clinical setups for up to 440 lb or 600 lb. Walk-along is offered for 600 lb. Power travel is offered for 440 lb and 600 lb, with or without return-to-charger. The installed system is limited by the lowest rating among the motor, track, carry bar, and sling.

How is the Clinical different from the M-Series Essential?

Both are lithium-ion fixed motors in the same weight family. The Clinical adds a digital display and menu, a cycle counter, Advanced Life Analytics, the powered 3-Down emergency function, and optional Bluetooth / Wi-Fi. The Essential is the simpler trim without those Clinical extras.

How is the Clinical different from the M-Series Bariatric?

The Clinical tops out at 600 lb in a 6.3 to 8.3 kg case. The Bariatric is a different cabin for 800, 1000, or 1200 lb, with powered 360-degree rotation and an optional motorized tilting 4-point bar. Do not order Clinical if you need those bariatric ratings.

How is the Clinical different from the Monarch portable lift?

The Clinical is the fixed motor that stays in the track. The Monarch is the portable 11 lb motor you carry between rooms. They share lithium-ion cells and a 3-year Savaria warranty. They are not the same SKU.

Can the Clinical go on an existing track?

Savaria states that M-Series motors can be configured to retrofit onto systems from major ceiling-lift manufacturers. We still check the track rating and hardware before we quote a motor-only swap.

What slings fit the M-Series Clinical?

Loop slings on a 2-point SureClip bar or a 4-point bull-horn bar. QRS swaps bars. Use universal, full-body, toileting, or divided-leg slings rated for that bar. Do not put a sit-to-stand sling on this overhead motor.

Does the quote include the ceiling track?

The quote is for the Clinical motor, hand control, and charger in the Lift setup you pick. Track, carry bar, and slings are planned with the room. We measure first, then book the install date.

What happens if the power goes out?

Savaria names a 3-Down emergency function on the Clinical: powered emergency lowering, powered emergency raising, and a reset from the floor. Keep the battery charged. Those features are for getting a person down safely.

Can I rent a lift before I buy this motor?

Yes. Westin rents electric floor lifts and ceiling lift setups. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program.

How fast can a purchased Clinical be set up in the GTA?

Westin's team delivers and sets up purchased lifts across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service, not automatically to a purchased install.

What is the warranty on the M-Series Clinical?

Savaria prints 3 years, including the battery, on the current Clinical card. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work. Details are on our service and repairs page.
