Description

The Ki Mobility CR45 is a Category 5 Dual Path tilt-in-space wheelchair. Westin Healthcare configures it to prescription for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. This is not an off-the-shelf cart chair. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assesses first. Then Westin builds the seat, the back, and the hangers on Ki's order form.

Ki's current CR45 page lists 0 to 45 degrees of Dual Path tilt, a 300 lb capacity, and a 38 lb transport weight on a defined 16 by 16 setup. It is the value Complex Rotation chair. It is not the Focus CR. Focus CR has a different tilt range, a wider seat, and a 400 lb heavy-duty row.

Who this chair is for

This chair is for a person who needs a 45 degree manual dynamic tilt because they cannot shift their own weight, and whose therapist has chosen the CR45 base rather than Focus CR or a Quickie IRIS. A caregiver tilts from dual-hand or foot activation. The frame does not fold.

If the person needs -5 to 50 degrees, a 24 inch seat, or a 400 lb rating, start with the Ki Mobility Focus CR. If they need a folding 20 degree tilt, see the Ki Mobility Liberty. Browse our tilt wheelchairs if you are still comparing Category 5 bases.

  • Category 5 manual dynamic tilt after an ADP-registered therapist assessment
  • 0 to 45 degree Dual Path tilt on the CR45
  • A 300 lb Ki rating and a 14 to 22 inch seat

Design and build

CR45 uses Ki's Dual Path tilt: two control paths with two centres of rotation, run by a plunger-pin mechanism. Eight sealed bearings sit in the tilt path. Activation is dual-hand or foot. The top frame tube is 1 inch. Fold-down stroller handles sweep 30 to 270 degrees so a caregiver can hold a comfortable grip through the tilt.

Front-mount hangers come in 70 and 80 degree, with half-inch footrest increments and a four-way hanger release. Colour, seat size, back style, wheels, and transit are set on the order. The chair is transit approved on Ki's spec table.

  • Dual Path Complex Rotation frame, 1 inch tubing
  • 0 to 45 degree tilt
  • Seat 14 to 22 inches wide and deep
  • Seat height 14 to 20 inches
  • 300 lb capacity
  • 38 lb transport weight on Ki's defined setup

Ki Mobility CR45 specifications

These figures are for the Ki Mobility CR45 Westin configures from Ki's current product page and the Canada order form dated 1/5/2026. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the 300 lb / 38 lb / 0 to 45 degree lines, not a 265 lb / 39 lb paste if that still appears on the tab.

Seat width 14 to 22 inches. Seat depth 14 to 22 inches. Seat height 14 to 20 inches. Tilt 0 to 45 degrees. Capacity 300 lb. Transport weight 38 lb for a 16 by 16 with stroller-handle back posts, 6 by 1 poly casters, and armrests, footrests, and rear wheels removed. Top tube 1 inch. Transit yes.

Warranty for the original purchaser is lifetime on the frame, hangers, tilt assembly including bearings, and quick-release axles, and one year on other Ki-made parts, in North America. Upholstery, tires, armrest pads, tubes, armrests, and push-handle grips are outside that term.

Colour, Seat Width, Seat Depth, and hangers

Use Colour, Seat Width, and Seat Depth with the therapist so the chair matches the prescription. Ki widths and depths on the CR45 each run 14 to 22 inches.

Use Legrest Footrest Type to set swing-away or elevating hangers. Four-way release position, 70 versus 80 degree hangers, wheels, and transit stay on the order form that Westin submits with you.

ADP funding for a Category 5 wheelchair in Ontario

This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area after the assessment, the configuration, and the ADP submission are in place. We bring it in, check the tilt, and show you the wheel locks, the hangers, and the tilt release before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Ki Mobility manufacturer warranty

Ki warrants the CR45 frame, hangers, tilt assembly including bearings, and quick-release axles for the life of the original purchaser, and other Ki-made parts for one year from first consumer purchase, in North America. Wear items such as upholstery, tires, armrest pads, tubes, armrests, and grips are outside that term. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

What does Category 5 mean on the CR45?

Category 5 is Ontario's adult manual dynamic tilt class. The CR45 is a Dual Path tilt-in-space chair for a person who cannot independently weight-shift. It is not a folding Type 1 or Type 2 everyday chair and it is not a transport chair.

Who qualifies for ADP on this chair?

Ontario residents with a valid health card who need a mobility aid for six months or longer may apply. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist has to assess the person before the chair is ordered. We cannot promise that a given buyer will be approved.

How does the 75 / 25 split work?

For eligible clients, ADP can fund 75 percent of the approved price of an eligible manual wheelchair. The client pays the remaining 25 percent. People on Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD can be covered at 100 percent.

What is the assessment process?

An ADP-registered OT or PT confirms that a generic or transport chair will not meet the need, trials tilt when that is the minimum device, and writes the prescription. Westin helps complete the application and submits it. A chair bought before approval is not reimbursed.

How long does ADP take?

Ontario aims to review a mobility-aid application within about eight weeks of receiving it. A configured CR45 then has a build time. Ask us for a current picture when the paperwork is ready.

Can we trial a CR45?

Westin can show a Category 5 tilt at a Brampton or Toronto store when one is on the floor. The therapist's trial is what decides CR45 versus Focus CR. A floor chair may not match the final seat size.

What seat width do I need?

Ki lists 14 to 22 inches on the CR45. Measure seated hip width with the therapist. A 23 or 24 inch seat is a Focus CR size, not a CR45 size.

Who pushes this chair?

A caregiver usually pushes and works the dual-hand or foot tilt. The person can self-propel if the therapist sets large rear wheels. Engage both wheel locks before sitting or standing.

Does the CR45 fold into a car trunk?

No. It is a Dual Path tilt base, not a folding commuter chair. Stroller handles fold down to shorten the package. Ki lists a 38 lb transport weight on a stripped 16 by 16 setup. Plan on a van or a hatch, or ask us about delivery.

What is the warranty?

Lifetime on the frame, hangers, tilt assembly including bearings, and quick-release axles for the original purchaser, and one year on other Ki-made parts. Wear items are outside that term. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.

What happens if ADP declines?

Ontario sends a letter with the reason and the appeal route. Do not take delivery of a custom chair on the assumption that a decline will reverse. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will walk through the letter with you and the therapist.

Is the CR45 the same chair as the Focus CR?

No. CR45 is 0 to 45 degrees, 14 to 22 inch, 300 lb, 38 lb transport. Focus CR is -5 to 50 degrees, 14 to 24 inch, 300 or 400 lb, 33 lb transport, with single-hand tilt and a power-tilt option. They are separate Ki models with separate ADP codes.
