Joerns Pro Matt Plus Mattress Premium Alternating Pressure

The P.R.O. Matt Plus is Joerns Healthcare's convertible air-and-foam mattress replacement. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. In non-powered use it self-adjusts through P.R.O. Technology valves. It is not a Med-Aire pump system and it is not a Gravity foam mattress.

Joerns' 2024 spec sheet and 2025 user manual rate every size at 500 lb (227 kg). Widths are 36 and 42 in. Lengths are 80 and 84 in. Height is 7 in (18 cm). The mattress weighs 24.5 lb (11 kg). Nylon is the standard zip cover. A 2-way stretch cover and raised sidewalls are Joerns options on this same model.

Who this mattress is for

This mattress is for a person at or under 500 lb who needs more than a foam hospital mattress and does not yet need a powered low-air-loss system every hour of the day. Families usually call us when a therapist has asked for a self-adjusting air-and-foam surface that can take a pump later.

Size, cover, and sidewalls

Match the mattress to the sleep deck, not to the room. A 36 in mattress sits on a standard homecare or Joerns long-term-care deck. A 42 in mattress sits on a 42 in frame. 80 in is the usual length. 84 in is the extended deck. We check the fit at delivery.

Nylon is Joerns' standard zippered therapy cover (low friction, low shear, fluid-proof). The stretch cover is the 2-way stretch option on the spec sheet. Raised sidewalls are a Joerns option on 36 x 80 and 42 x 80 nylon SKUs in this list. The firm perimeter is on every mattress, with or without sidewalls, and Joerns says it closes the gap to siderails.

How the mattress works

Four zones sit inside the core: head, shoulder, torso, and foot. Joerns' P.R.O. Technology valves set the air in each zone to the person's weight and profile. There is no manual inflation. A one-inch viscoelastic topper sits over the cells. The head zone stays static foam for comfort. Shoulder, torso, and foot zones adjust on their own.

Leave the control unit off and it is a non-powered self-adjusting surface. Connect a Joerns P.R.O. Technology pump (PMP-CU-01) or the standard CBC unit (PMP-CBC) and Joerns converts it to alternating pressure or static powered therapy. Those pumps are sold separately.

The P.R.O. Matt Plus is Joerns' 36/42 in convertible with P.R.O. valves and a 500 lb rating on every size. The Drive Balanced Aire NP is Drive's eight-cylinder non-powered convertible: 500 lb on 35 in, 750 lb on 42 in. Pick Joerns when the bed is a Joerns frame or the therapist named P.R.O. Matt Plus. Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund mattresses or support surfaces. ADP funds, on purchase only, 75% of the approved price of manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse this purchase. Ontario Health atHome (310-2222) and March of Dimes Canada can help some low-income applicants. Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), WSIB, ODSP discretionary benefits, and private insurance are the other common routes. Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, connect a control unit when the order includes one, and check the fit before we leave.

Joerns manufacturer warranty

Joerns Healthcare's 2025 P.R.O. Matt Plus statement covers the original purchaser for 5 years on the mattress and 1 year on the cover. The optional control unit is 1 year. Wear, stains, needle punctures, and use outside the manual sit outside that term. Joerns asks for authorized-dealer service. We handle the claim with you.

Frequently asked questions

Does the P.R.O. Matt Plus include a pump?

No. These SKUs are mattress only. Joerns sells the P.R.O. Technology pump (PMP-CU-01) and the standard CBC unit (PMP-CBC) as separate parts. Ask us if you want a pump in the same delivery.

What is the weight capacity?

Joerns prints 500 lb (227 kg) on the spec sheet and the 2025 manual. Stay at or under that rating, and at or under the bed frame rating.

Nylon cover or stretch cover?

Nylon is Joerns' standard zippered therapy cover. Stretch is the 2-way stretch option. Capacity and size do not change with the cover. Pick stretch when the therapist has asked for more immersion in the cover fabric.

Does ADP cover this mattress?
