The JAY Union cushion is Sunrise Medical's foam and JAY Flow fluid wheelchair cushion for skin protection and positioning in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The current card rates 14 to 21 inch widths at 330 lbs (150 kg) and 22 to 24 inch widths at 500 lbs (227 kg). A 16 by 18 inch size weighs 5.25 lbs (2.4 kg). Standard height is 4.5 inches (11.4 cm). Reduced Profile is 3.5 inches (8.9 cm).
This is the comfort-fluid step on the JAY ladder: memory foam on top, JAY Flow fluid under the pelvis, and 1 inch lateral pelvic wedges. JAY Flow is a fluid pad, not a supermarket gel pillow.

Foam, fluid, and dual cover
The JAY Union cushion uses a moderately contoured high-resiliency foam base with extra lateral pelvic support. A gel-infused Visco layer sits over the pelvic loading area. The JAY Flow fluid insert is there to follow the pelvis. The inner cover is Dartex-coated Lycra with a water-resistant zipper and anti-wicking thread. The outer cover is machine-washable silver-thread stretch with a 3DX spacer layer. The outer cover has a handle, a zipper flap, and a QR label.
Sunrise also prints a Reduced Profile that drops the height by 1 inch. Ask us if you need that 3.5 inch build.

Which JAY wheelchair cushion fits
The JAY Union cushion is the foam-plus-fluid comfort JAY. Stay here if a therapist wants JAY Flow and memory foam without Cryo or an air insert. The JAY Ion Cushion is foam only. The JAY Fusion with Cryo is the current adjustable fluid step with cooling. The JAY J2 Standard Cushion is the 2.5 inch fluid well. The JAY J2 Deep Contour Cushion is the 4.5 inch fluid well.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost.
