Description
The JAY GO back is Sunrise Medical's strap-on wheelchair back support for Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. An 18 inch wide tall size weighs 1.7 lbs (0.77 kg). The current card rates 12 to 20 inch widths at 300 lbs (136 kg) and 22 to 24 inch widths at 500 lbs (227 kg). This is a quote-only back. Height band and width are set in the seating assessment.
Sunrise writes the GO as a comfortable, convenient back for basic needs, with an easy-install Velcro strap assembly, a Dartex moisture-resistant cover, and wide tension-adjustable straps.
Who this back is for
The JAY GO back fits a person whose therapist wants mild posterior support without a rigid J3 shell. Stay here when the chair already has canes the Velcro sleeves can wrap, and when a headrest mount is not required. A seating therapist should confirm GO versus the JAY J3 Back if lateral contour or a headrest is part of the plan.
- Short 10 to 14 inches or Tall 15 to 19 inches
- 1 1/4 inch (32 mm) extra-soft foam
- 300 lb (136 kg) to 500 lb (227 kg) by width
Straps, foam, and cover
The JAY GO back uses wide straps placed close together so the foam can be tensioned to the person's torso. Sunrise writes that supporting a larger area of the torso helps discourage asymmetrical postures. The foam insert is 1 1/4 inches thick. The outer cover is four-way stretch Lycra coated with Dartex, wipe-clean and water-resistant. A microclimatic cover is also listed. Installation sleeves wrap around virtually any back-cane diameter. The current card prints no headrest mount.

How a GO back is ordered
A seating therapist names Short or Tall and the cane-to-cane width. Westin maps that to a 12 to 26 inch GO and shows you how the sleeves wrap the canes. There is no drop-down that can do that work.
Which JAY wheelchair back fits
The JAY GO back is the strap-on foam step. Stay here for milder posterior support and a light install. The JAY J3 Back is the contoured shell family. The JAY Zip Back is the kids shell. The JAY Encompass Back is the three-piece lateral back. The matching mild foam seat is the JAY GO Cushion.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers this wheelchair back support across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, wrap the sleeves on the chair canes, and show you how to tension the straps before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a JAY back first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased backs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Service and warranty

Sunrise Medical JAY warranty
The JAY GO Back owner's manual is the warranty source for the original purchaser. Punctures, tears, and burns sit outside that term. Sunrise notes that Canadian terms can follow provincial funding rules. We handle the warranty claim with you on units we sold. Ask us for the insert that ships with your order.

Does ADP Cover Wheelchair Back Supports?

What Is The Weight Limit For The JAY GO Back?
