Description
The Interstate GEL0035 is a 12V 31Ah (20-hour) pure gel U1 cell with insert terminals. Interstate's current sheet prints 31.0 Ah at the 20-hour rate to 1.80 V per cell. Westin Healthcare sells the single cell in Brampton and can match gel chemistry before we send a replacement across the Greater Toronto Area.
Who this U1 gel battery is for
Use the Interstate GEL0035 when the old cell is U1 gel, or when the device maker names gel in this case size. It is not the DCM0012 12Ah travel cell and it is not the MK 8AU1 AGM U1. Bring the old battery or a photo of the stamp. Call (905) 451-7743 if the chemistry is unclear.
- Use this cell when the old battery is 12V U1 gel with insert terminals
- Choose the Interstate GEL0055 when the tray is group 22NF gel, not U1
- Do not mix this gel cell with an AGM pair
Gel vs AGM in the U1 size
Interstate prints GEL0035 as Pure Gel and says it delivers two times the cycle life of standard AGM. Gel wants a gel-capable charger. The nearby AGM U1 in this shop is the MK 8AU1. Interstate's Deep Cycle Mobility U1-class AGM is a different article (DCM0035 lives on another warehouse row and is not this card).
Westin sells the GEL0035 as a single 12V battery. Most U1 scooters run two in series for 24V. Order two and replace both together.

Service and warranty
When a battery or a scooter needs work, you call the shop that sold it. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
Interstate's mobility page prints a 12-month free replacement on replacement batteries for mobility scooters and wheelchairs. The GEL0035 sheet does not print a separate month count. We handle the mobility claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What battery does my scooter take?
The Interstate GEL0035 is a 12V 31Ah U1 gel cell with insert terminals. Use it when the old stamp is U1 gel. Victory, Revo, and Buzzaround LX families often print U1. Confirm gel, not AGM, before you order.
Do I need two batteries for a scooter?
Yes. A 24V travel scooter uses two 12V batteries in series. The Interstate GEL0035 is sold as one cell. Replace both cells together.
How long do mobility scooter batteries last?
Interstate does not print a year life for GEL0035 in scooter service. When range falls off after a full charge, replace both 12V cells and use a gel-capable charger.
Can I replace scooter batteries myself?
U1 drop-in trays are written so a dealer or a careful owner can swap the pair from that scooter's owner manual. Westin can do the swap. Match the red and black leads. Do not mix gel with AGM.
Is GEL0035 the same as DCM0035?
No. GEL0035 is Interstate pure gel, 31 Ah at 20 hours. DCM0035 is Interstate Deep Cycle Mobility AGM in the same U1 class. Same voltage is not the same article.
Is this a group 22NF battery?
No. GEL0035 is U1. Group 22NF gel in this shop is the GEL0055 or the MK 8G22NF.
