Description
The Golden Patriot GR-575 is a full-size four-wheel heavy-duty scooter built for outdoor driving: 400 lbs of rating, 8 mph of speed, four-wheel independent suspension, 13 inch pneumatic tires, and a full lighting package. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Golden's spec sheet rates the Patriot at a 24 mile operating range at 200 lbs on two 75 AH batteries, 6.75 inches of ground clearance, and a 76.5 inch turning radius. It is the trail-and-neighbourhood machine in the Golden line, not a trunk scooter.
Who this heavy-duty scooter is for
The Patriot is for a person whose day happens outdoors: long dog walks, gravel paths, cottage roads, big-box parking lots. It answers three problems a travel scooter cannot. Weight: 400 lbs (181 kg) of rating, so a bigger rider or a carry-on in the basket stays inside the limit. Terrain: independent suspension on all four wheels plus 6.75 inches of clearance takes potholes, curbs, and grass that stop a solid-tire portable dead. Distance and pace: 24 miles (38.6 km) at 200 lbs and 8 mph (12.9 km/h) mean the ride ends when you decide, not when the battery does.
It is not for the elevator-and-hallway life: 28 inches wide and a 76.5 inch turning radius want real space, and it does not disassemble for a car trunk. If the day is mostly indoors, a three-wheel like our Buzzaround line turns tighter; if the need is 500 lbs, talk to us about the bariatric tier.
- 400 lb (181 kg) rating, 8 mph (12.9 km/h), 24 mile (38.6 km) range at 200 lbs
- Four-wheel independent suspension, 13 inch pneumatic tires, 6.75 inch clearance
- Full lighting package with ultrabright LED rear lights
Power, speed, and the 75 AH battery pair
The Patriot runs on two 75 AH batteries through a 140 amp controller with electro-mechanical brakes, plus a mechanical hand (parking) brake with a lock. Golden's range figure, 24 miles, is tested at 200 lbs and varies with rider weight, terrain, and temperature, the same honest caveat every scooter carries. The charger is off-board. A freewheel mode lets a helper push the machine.
Batteries are quoted separately on the supplier's current price list for the heavy-duty class, so confirm the battery pair and charger are on your order when you call; we will put the full delivered package in writing.
Suspension, clearance, and the lighting package
Four-wheel independent suspension is the Patriot's defining feature: each wheel rides its own spring, so a curb drop at the corner does not tip the whole chassis. Thirteen inch pneumatic tires front and rear add the cushion and the traction that solid tires never give, and 6.75 inches of ground clearance clears the trail debris and snow-crust edges that end a low-deck ride.
The full lighting package runs headlights and ultrabright LED rear lights, and the updated wraparound delta tiller carries the button covers, hand-brake lock, and LED battery meter. A mirror ships on the tiller.

Patriot, Avenger, Eagle, or a Wrangler: the heavy-duty ladder
Golden's current heavy-duty tier is the Avenger (500 lb, 75 AH) and the Eagle with its all-terrain version; the Patriot sits a class under those in price and a step over the compact 325 lb XLS HD pair in size and speed. Outside Golden, the Wrangler and the Panther are the comparable full-size machines we carry and service. The honest summary: for pure trail pace the all-terrain tier wins; for paved-path pace at 400 lbs the Patriot is the value, and our mobility scooter buying guide walks the whole decision.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the ADP-approved price of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers the Patriot. Westin's own team delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the tiller, charger, and freewheel lever before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom, or Mobility Specialties, our partner store in Etobicoke, if you would rather see it first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. A full-size mobility scooter does not use the Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods: if it is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden's printed Patriot terms are 5 years on the frame, 1 year on the drive train, 1 year on electronics, and 1 year on batteries; the frame term is shorter than the Buzzaround family's lifetime term and we say so plainly. Wear items such as tires sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
How fast does the Golden Patriot go?
8 mph (12.9 km/h), about twice a shopping-mall scooter's pace. Ontario treats anything over 10 km/h the same way for sidewalk use: keep to where a scooter of this size belongs.
How far can the Patriot go on a charge?
Golden rates it at 24 miles (38.6 km) at 200 lbs (91 kg) on two 75 AH batteries. Hills, rider weight, and cold shorten it, the same as every scooter.
How much weight can it hold?
400 lbs (181 kg), rider plus anything in the basket. For 500 lbs, the Avenger is the current Golden tier.
Does the Patriot disassemble for travel?
No. At 308 lbs assembled with a 152 lb base, it moves on a vehicle lift or a trailer. If the scooter has to go in a car trunk, the disassembling tier starts with the XLS HD 4-wheel.
Can it handle grass and gravel?
Yes, that is its design intent: four-wheel independent suspension, 13 inch pneumatic tires, 6.75 inches of ground clearance. Wet grass on a slope is still a no, as Golden's manual says for the class.
Are batteries included?
The supplier's current list quotes the heavy-duty battery pair separately, so we confirm batteries and charger on the written order. Call (905) 451-7743 and the delivered package is itemized before you pay.
What is the warranty on the Patriot?
5 years on the frame, 1 year each on drive train, electronics, and batteries. Note the frame term is five years, not the lifetime term the Buzzaround family carries.
Is the Patriot still made?
It is a 2016-design model that no longer appears on Golden's current Canadian price list or website; we list it for customers who want exactly this machine and we confirm supply and lead time at order. Its current-generation replacements are the Avenger and Eagle.
Does ADP cover a heavy-duty scooter?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program assesses scooters by need through an ADP-registered therapist and vendor, not by class; a heavy-duty rating alone does not qualify or disqualify. Talk to us before you buy.
Who services it near me?
We do. Westin's own technicians service it across Brampton and the GTA; see our mobility scooters near me page for the delivery area.
