Description
The Golden Cricket LT is Golden Technologies' GP309 side-folding carbon fibre power wheelchair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The person drives with the joystick.
Golden lists a 300 lb (136 kg) rating, speeds up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h), a 29.5 inch (75 cm) turning radius, and up to 9.5 miles (15.3 km) per charge on the 10AH 24V lithium-ion pack. The chair weighs 25.8 lbs (11.7 kg) without the battery, cushion, and drink holder. Golden weighs the assembled chair with the memory foam cushion at 31.3 lbs (14.2 kg).
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Golden's 18 by 18 inch seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants a side-fold carbon chair one person can lift into a trunk. Families usually call us when the Cricket GP-302's 33.2 lb minus-parts figure is more lift than they want, or when they want the side-fold that stays on its wheels.
If you want a tighter 22 inch turn and a 12AH pack, start with the Golden Cricket GP-302. If you want a 330 lb rating and a traditional folding travel feel, see the Golden Ally. The Cricket LT is not a take-apart LiteRider Envy.
- A 25.8 lb carbon fibre side-fold, without battery, cushion, and drink holder
- An 18 by 18 inch memory foam seat
- A 10AH 24V lithium pack Golden prints as airline-approved, with the airline still to confirm
Range, speed, and batteries
The Golden Cricket LT travels up to 9.5 miles (15.3 km) per charge on the standard 10AH 24V lithium-ion pack. Golden's footnote says range changes with rider weight, drive surface, terrain, and battery type, and the printed figure is at 200 lbs. Plan a shorter day than 15.3 km if the person is near 300 lbs or the route is not flat.
Top speed is up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h). The charger is off-board. The controller is 35 Amp. Charge the pack with the charger Golden supplies. Golden weighs that pack at 3 lbs (1.4 kg) and includes a battery carry bag so the pack can travel separately.
Portability and transport
Golden side-folds the Cricket LT to a 12 inch (30.5 cm) profile while it stays on its wheels. It does not come apart into a stack of frame pieces. Flip-up armrests and the compact joystick stay with the chair for the trip.
Golden prints the side-mounted 10AH lithium pack as airline-approved and still leaves the flight to the airline. Consult the airline before you fly. Golden does not print a watt-hour figure on this chair's sell sheet, so we do not invent one. For a cruise or a bus, ask the carrier what they allow on board.

Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. Gradual battery wear from storage, cold, or heavy use is outside the battery term. We handle the warranty claim with you.
