Families usually call us when the standard Buzzaround CarryOn GB120 300 lb rating is not enough and a disassembly scooter is still too many pieces for a flight or a small trunk.
If you want a lighter fold and a 300 lb rating, start with the CarryOn GB120. If you want more speed and a high-back seat without folding, see the Buzzaround EX 4-Wheel. The CarryOn HD is not a rough-terrain scooter.

Range, speed, and batteries
Golden's current CarryOn HD sell sheet rates the GB220 at 14.2 miles (22.9 km) on the 12.5 AH lithium-ion pack and 7.4 miles (11.9 km) on the 6.5 AH pack, both at 200 lbs (91 kg). Combined range when you use both packs in sequence is 21.6 miles (34.8 km). Top speed is 4.29 mph (6.9 km/h). Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten those figures. The charger is off-board. Golden asks for 6 to 8 hours after daily use.
Each pack weighs 5 lbs (2.3 kg). A brushless motor and a 32 amp controller drive the rear wheels. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it. USB A and USB C ports on the tiller charge a phone.
Portability and transport
The Buzzaround CarryOn HD folds to under 14 inches (35.6 cm) without the seat. Golden's owner manual prints that folded height at 12.63 inches (32.1 cm). The main body is 52.5 lbs (23.8 kg) without seat and batteries, the seat is 20 lbs (9.1 kg), and each battery is 5 lbs (2.3 kg). Assembled weight is 77.5 lbs (35.2 kg). Width is 23.5 inches (60 cm). A kickstand and rear basket hold the spare pack for vertical storage.
Golden calls the lithium packs airline-friendly and says they can come off as carry-on for air, sea, or train. Golden also presents the CarryOn HD for cruise cabins that now want a scooter stored under a bed or in a closet. That is still subject to the airline or cruise line. Confirm the carrier before you book. Golden's owner manual says not to operate or store the scooter in rain, snow, mist, or below-freezing temperatures.

CarryOn or CarryOn HD: which folder fits
CarryOn HD is the 400 lb folding step: 4.29 mph, 16 by 18 inch seat, 52.5 lb main body, under 14 inch fold. The CarryOn GB120 is the 300 lb folder with a 12 inch fold and a 47.5 lb main body. Every other Buzzaround on this site disassembles and uses sealed lead-acid batteries, except the XL Plus, which uses a lithium pack and comes apart. Pick CarryOn HD for the fold plus the 400 lb rating. Pick GB120 for the lighter fold. Pick a disassembly Buzzaround for more speed or a high-back seat.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Golden's printed CarryOn HD terms are lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on the drive train, 2 years on electronics, and 2 years on the batteries. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.
