Description
The Gemino 30 Walker is Sunrise Medical's forearm-support rolling walker. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is a 4-wheel Gemino with adjustable arm troughs, not a two-wheel pickup walker you lift with each step.
Sunrise Canada's 2020 Gemino catalog rates the standard Gemino 30 Walker at 331 lb (150 kg) and 23.4 lb (10.6 kg) without the basket. Medium is 287 lb (130 kg) and 22.9 lb. Both sizes use 11 x 1.4 in wheels. The brakes and push handles sit in the forearm supports.
Who this walker is for
This walker is for a person who needs more upper-body support than a standard rollator grip, stays at or under the size's weight rating, and can use the integrated brakes in the arm troughs. Families usually call us when a therapist asks for forearm support during gait practice, or when wrist pain makes a normal rollator handle hard to use.
If you want ordinary push handles on the same family, start with the Gemino 30 rollator. If you want these troughs on the outdoor Gemino 60 chassis, see the Gemino 60 Walker. For a two-button folding walker we already stock, see the Drive folding walker with 5 in wheels.
- Forearm supports with height, depth, and angle adjustment
- Two sizes: handles 39-44 in or 33-39 in
- 11 in wheels and a 33 in turning radius
Fit and height
The Gemino 30 Walker puts your weight through the forearms, not the palms. Sunrise says you can adjust the height, depth, and angle of the arm supports. Standard arm-support height runs 39-44 in (99-112 cm) for users about 4 ft 11 in to 6 ft 7 in. Medium 33-39 in (84-99 cm) for about 4 ft 5 in to 5 ft 7 in. Seat height is 24 in (61 cm) standard and 22 in (56 cm) Medium. Width between the centres of the push handles is 10 in (25 cm), because the grips sit inboard in the troughs. Ask us to match the size before we order.
Wheels, brakes, and folding
The Gemino 30 Walker uses 11 x 1.4 in wheels front and rear. Turning radius is 33 in. The brake and push handles are built into the forearm supports and are meant to be easy to reach. Lock the brakes on flat ground before you sit.
The frame still folds. Folded width is 14 in, wider than the 9 in Gemino 30 rollator, because of the troughs. Folded length is 10 in. Folded height is 38 in standard and 35 in Medium. Sunrise presents this model for indoor use and for gait training. A slowdown brake is a catalog accessory, not standard.
Weight and portability
Standard weighs 23.4 lb (10.6 kg) without the basket, 24 lb with it. Medium 22.9 lb (23.6 lb with basket). That is about 8 lb heavier than a Gemino 30 rollator. The catalog basket is rated at 11 lb (5 kg). Do not use the walker as a wheelchair.
Gemino 30 Walker specifications
These figures are for the Gemino 30 Walker and 30 M Walker as printed in Sunrise Medical Canada's 2020 Gemino catalog technical table. The specification tab holds the stored values. The product is certified to ISO 11199-3 (walking tables / forearm walkers), not only ISO 11199-2.
Both sizes: 24 in wide, 26 in long, 11 x 1.4 in wheels, 33 in turn, 10 in between handle centres. Standard: 331 lb, seat 24 in, supports 39-44 in, 23.4 lb without basket. Medium: 287 lb, seat 22 in, supports 33-39 in, 22.9 lb. Catalog colour: Silver grey.
Warranty coverage on the CA product card may vary from one province to another depending on funding requirements. Ask us which term ships with your walker.
Gemino 30 Walker or Gemino 30 rollator
The Gemino 30 Walker is the forearm-support Gemino. The Gemino 30 rollator is the same family with ordinary push handles, 8 in wheels, and a 15.7 lb standard frame. The Gemino 60 Walker keeps the troughs and steps up to the outdoor 11 in / 9 in wheel set at a 287 lb rating. A two-button walker such as the Drive Deluxe Folding Walker has no seat and is lifted with each step.
Funding help for a walker or rollator in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a walker or rollator when the need is long-term and the aid is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every model qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Frequently asked questions
What Is a Forearm Support Walker?
The Gemino 30 Walker is a 4-wheel rolling walker with troughs for the forearms. The push handles and brakes sit in those troughs. It is not a two-wheel pickup walker. Sunrise also calls it a medical walker for gait training.
Walker Vs Rollator: Which Is Better?
The Gemino 30 Walker is a rolling walker with a seat and forearm supports. A standard walker has no seat and is lifted with each step. A standard rollator uses palm grips. Choose the 30 Walker when the person needs the troughs. Do not use it as a wheelchair.
Does ADP Cover Rollators?
Some Ontario routes can help with a walker or rollator when the need is long-term and an assessment supports it. Eligibility depends on the person's situation. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
How Do I Choose a Rollator Height?
The Gemino 30 Walker standard forearm supports adjust from 39-44 in (99-112 cm). Medium supports run 33-39 in. Seat height is 24 in or 22 in. Fit the troughs so the shoulders are not shrugged.
How Much Does the Gemino 30 Walker Weigh?
The Gemino 30 Walker standard weighs 23.4 lb (10.6 kg) without the basket on Sunrise Canada's 2020 catalog. Medium weighs 22.9 lb.
What Is the Weight Capacity?
The Gemino 30 Walker standard is rated at 331 lb (150 kg). Medium is 287 lb (130 kg). Stay at or under the rating for the size we order.
Can I Use the Gemino 30 Walker Outdoors?
The Gemino 30 Walker uses 11 in wheels. Sunrise presents it mainly for indoor use and gait training. For the outdoor-rated forearm Gemino, see the Gemino 60 Walker.
Will This Walker Fit in a Car?
The Gemino 30 Walker folds to 14 in wide and 10 in long. Standard folded height is 38 in. The 23.4 lb frame is heavier than a Gemino 30 rollator. We can walk through the fold at delivery.
How Is This Different From a Two-Wheel Walker?
A two-wheel walker such as the Drive two-button model is lifted each step and has no seat. The Gemino 30 Walker rolls on four 11 in wheels, has a seat, and carries the person through forearm troughs.
What Colours Can I Order?
Sunrise Canada's 2020 catalog lists Silver grey for the Gemino 30 Walker. Ask us which colour we can put on your order.
