Description
The Handicare Eva is an aluminum full-body floor lift for seated, lying, and horizontal transfers, and for gait training. Savaria Patient Care lists it for North America as the Eva450EE / Eva600EE family. Westin Healthcare quotes it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes and care rooms in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Eva does not fold. If you need a compact Handicare lift that folds for a closet or a car, see the Handicare Carina 350 at 350 lb. If you want a SPAN F-series foldable floor lift, see the Span America F400 at 400 lb. Eva is the aluminum lift that stays assembled, with a three-position mast and a two-point SlingBar with safety latches, at 450 lb or 600 lb.
Who it is for
This lift is for a person who needs a full-body sling transfer inside 450 lb or 600 lb, when a lightweight aluminum frame and a large lifting range matter more than a fold. Handicare also names gait training on this family. If 350 lb and a fold are enough, start with the Carina 350. If you want another aluminum hospital-grade floor lift we already sell, see the Beka CARLO.
- Homes and care rooms that can park a non-folding floor lift
- Transfers from the floor, a bed, or a chair, seated or lying
- Gait training with a Handicare walking sling that matches this bar
- Lower beds, when you pick a low-leg model
How it lifts
The caregiver opens the base, seats a Handicare / SystemRoMedic loop sling on the two-point SlingBar, and raises the boom from the hand control. EE opens the base from that same hand control. EM (only the low-leg Eva450EM on this picker) opens the base with a pedal. The mast sits in one of three height sockets so the same lift can reach a floor pickup or a gait-training height. Handlebars are height-adjustable.
Handicare prints an emergency stop on the control box, plus manual emergency lowering on the actuator and electrical emergency lowering on the box. Charging is built in. Lock the rear wheels only when you lift from the floor. Handicare does not print a one-caregiver guarantee. We will plan the first transfer with you.
Handicare Eva specifications
These figures are for the current Eva450 / Eva600 family, not the Carina 350 and not the SPAN F-series. Savaria and Handicare print 450 lb (205 kg) on Eva450 and 600 lb (270 kg) on Eva600. Unit weight with battery is 85.9 lb (39 kg) for both tiers. The Eva450 carry bar is 17.7 in (450 mm). The Eva600 carry bar is 23.6 in (600 mm).
Eva450 outer base is 27.0-38.6 in (685-980 mm) and inner base is 23.0-34.6 in (585-880 mm). Eva600 outer base is 29.5-45.2 in (750-1150 mm) and inner base is 25.6-41.3 in (650-1050 mm). Lifting range is 19.7-70.5 in (500-1790 mm) on Eva450 and 19.7-71.2 in (500-1810 mm) on Eva600. Unloaded lifting speed is 1.4 in/s (35 mm/s). Standard castors are 3.9 in (100 mm). Low-leg fronts are 1.4 in (35 mm). Protection class is IPX4. The owner's manual names a 10-year expected lifetime and ISO 10535 / CSA 60601-1 marks on Eva450 / Eva600.
Do not read the Carina 350 fold, 76-78 lb weight, or 350 lb rating onto this page. Do not read the F400 six-point bar or 400 lb rating onto this page.

Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor patient lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?
Yes. If you only need a lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a floor lift before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub and the patient lift rentals page. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA.
Rental packages include an electric floor lift and a sling. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Which slings this lift fits
Eva uses a two-point aluminum SlingBar with safety latches. Loop sling straps seat on those hooks. Handicare's owner's manual says to use slings supplied or approved for the lift, and that the working load of the whole system is the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling. This is a loop attachment, not a clip sit-to-stand bar, and not the SPAN F400 six-point bar.
Eva450 ships with the 17.7 in bar. Eva600 ships with the 23.6 in bar. Optional Handicare bars named for this family include SlingBar XS, S, M, and L, SlingBarSpreader M, StretcherBar for a supine lift, and four-point SlingBar RFL X4. For gait training, use a Handicare walking sling rated for this bar. Sit-to-stand thorax slings belong on a sit-to-stand lift, not on this boom.
Shop Westin's matching sling styles: universal slings, full-body slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings. Confirm the sling's own safe working load before you pair it with Eva450 or Eva600. A 450 lb sling is not enough on Eva600.
If you need a foldable 350 lb Handicare instead, stay with the Carina 350. If you want the SPAN F-series foldable 400 lb lift, see the F400. If you want Beka's aluminum hospital floor lift, see the CARLO.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Handicare Eva warranty
Handicare's Eva owner's manual says the warranty applies only when authorized Handicare personnel do the work. The current Savaria card does not print a year split we can cite here. Ask us for the Handicare terms that ship with your serial number. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Does funding cover a patient lift in Ontario?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts. Other routes can help when the person and the assessment fit, including ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship programs. Westin Healthcare works with those programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before anyone starts paperwork.
What is the safe working load of the Handicare Eva?
Eva450 is 450 lb (205 kg). Eva600 is 600 lb (270 kg). The installed system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the SlingBar, and the sling. Stay inside that number for the person plus anything in the sling.
How is Eva different from the Handicare Carina 350?
Carina 350 is Handicare's foldable 350 lb homecare floor lift. Eva is the aluminum lift that does not fold, with a three-position mast, at 450 lb or 600 lb, and Handicare names gait training on this family. Pick Carina when you need the fold. Pick Eva when you need the higher working load and the aluminum frame.
How is Eva different from the SPAN F-series?
The SPAN F400 we sell is a foldable 400 lb floor lift with a six-point spreader bar. Eva is Handicare aluminum, two-point SlingBar, 450 lb or 600 lb, and it does not fold. They are not the same lift. If you want the F-series fold, see the F400.
Does the Eva fold for a car or a closet?
No. The mast lifts off the base for assembly. That is not a fold. For a Handicare fold, see the Carina 350. For a SPAN fold, see the F400.
What slings fit the Eva?
Loop slings on the two-point SlingBar with safety latches. Use a Handicare / SystemRoMedic sling approved for this bar and for 450 lb or 600 lb, matching the model you pick. Do not put a sit-to-stand sling on this boom.
Does a sling come with the lift?
No. Handicare ships the lift with the SlingBar, the hand control, and built-in charging. The sling is sold separately. We will confirm the size and the working load when we book setup.
What do EE, EM, and low legs mean?
EE opens the base from the hand control. EM opens the base with a pedal. Low legs use smaller front casters so the frame can go under a lower bed. Only Eva450EM with low legs is on this picker. Ask us if your bed needs low legs.
Can Eva be used for gait training?
Yes. Handicare names gait training on this family and shows a walking-sling transfer on the product card. Use a walking sling Handicare rates for this bar, and we will plan the first session with you.
Can I rent a lift before I buy this one?
Yes. Westin rents electric floor lifts. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program.
How fast can a purchased Eva be set up in the GTA?
Westin's team delivers and sets up purchased lifts across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service, not automatically to a purchased setup.
What is the warranty on the Eva?
Ask us for the Handicare terms that ship with your serial number. Authorized Handicare service keeps that warranty in force. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work. Details are on our service and repairs page.
