Description
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 scooter is a full-size 4-wheel heavy duty mobility scooter from Eclipse Medical of Delta, British Columbia. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Eclipse Medical is the Canadian distributor. The Bigfoot S846 is an Eclipse Trailmaster 4-wheel, not a 3-wheel. Eclipse's current card rates it at 400 lbs (182 kg), 15 km/h (9.5 mph), and 50 km (32 miles) per charge on two 75 Ah batteries with a 6 amp charger.
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who wants a full-size 4-wheel for outdoor neighbourhood and path use, and who fits a 400 lb rating and a 26 inch wide, 56 inch long chassis. Families usually call us when a mid-size scooter feels short on tire or range, and they do not need the Interceptor's 450 lb rating and 16 inch rear tires.
If you need 450 lbs and 14/16 inch tires, see the Eclipse Interceptor S940GTX. If you want a mid-size 4-wheel, see the Fortress 1700-DT 4-wheel scooter. The Bigfoot is not a folding travel scooter and it is not a 3-wheel.
- Full-size 4-wheel Trailmaster for outdoor streets and paths
- 400 lb (182 kg) rating and 12 inch tires front and rear
- 2.3 HP motor, LCD dashboard, front and rear suspension
Range, speed, and batteries
Eclipse Medical prints a top speed of 15 km/h (9.5 mph) and a driving distance of 50 km (32 miles). The card does not state a rider-weight or terrain condition for that distance, so treat 50 km as the maker's published figure, not a promise for every day.
The official pack is two 75 Ah batteries with a 6 amp charger. Eclipse does not print a charge time on the public card. Charge with the charger that ships with the pack. Keep the batteries charged. Do not invent a winter capacity number that Eclipse did not print.
Portability and transport
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 is a full-size scooter. Eclipse lists 286 lbs (130 kg) with batteries. That is not a car-trunk or airline product. Westin delivers it and shows you the tiller and charger in the home. If you later move it, use a van or trailer and proper tie-downs. Do not plan to lift it into a hatchback.
Eclipse Bigfoot S846 specifications
These figures are for the Eclipse Bigfoot S846 as printed on Eclipse Medical's current Canadian card and 2025 brochure. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Weight capacity 400 lbs (182 kg). Overall size 56 inches long, 26 inches wide, 49 inches high. Total weight with batteries 286 lbs (130 kg). Motor 2.3 HP. Top speed 15 km/h (9.5 mph). Colours red, blue, orange, or green.
Eclipse does not print a seat width or a ground-clearance figure on that card, so those numbers are omitted here. The card also lists a digital LCD dashboard, a full light package, front and rear suspension, and two mirrors.
Choose Batteries
Eclipse Medical's current card lists two 75 Ah batteries and a 6 amp charger as the Bigfoot pack. Use Choose Batteries if you need to confirm that 75 Ah pair. Official colours are red, blue, orange, and green. Ask us if the colour you want is not shown.
Bigfoot or Interceptor
The Bigfoot S846 is the 400 lb Trailmaster 4-wheel: 12 inch tires, 2.3 HP, 50 km printed range, 286 lb with batteries, 56 by 26 inches. The Eclipse Interceptor S940GTX is the 450 lb premium 4-wheel: 14/16 inch tires, 3 HP, 40 km printed range, 363 lb with batteries, 61 by 29 inches. Choose the Bigfoot if you want the slightly shorter, lighter full-size. Choose the Interceptor if capacity and tire size come first. For a mid-size 4-wheel, see the Fortress 1700-DT.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up the Eclipse Bigfoot S846 across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the tiller, charger, and freewheel before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a full-size 4-wheel first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This mobility scooter is oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Eclipse Medical warranty
Eclipse Medical does not print a warranty term on the Bigfoot S846 spec card. The company says the term lives in the instruction manual that ships with the scooter. Ask us for that card. We handle the claim with you. Batteries wear with use and follow the battery maker's terms.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Eclipse Bigfoot a 3 wheel or 4 wheel scooter?
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 is a 4-wheel scooter. Eclipse Medical's current card calls it the Trailmaster Bigfoot 4-wheel. It is not a 3-wheel.
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 is printed at 50 km (32 miles) on Eclipse Medical's current card. The card does not state a rider-weight condition. Hills, cold, and a tired 75 Ah pack will shorten that figure.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 is not an airline scooter. Eclipse lists 286 lbs (130 kg) with batteries and a 56 by 26 inch chassis. It does not fold, and it uses large lead-acid batteries, not a cabin lithium pack.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help fund a power scooter after an ADP-registered therapist assessment. Eclipse Medical does not print an ADP device code on the Bigfoot card. Eligibility is personal. Talk to us before you buy. The funding section above is the starting point.
3 wheel vs 4 wheel scooter?
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 is a 4-wheel. A 4-wheel mobility scooter sits on a wider stance than a 3-wheel. If you want a 3-wheel mid-size instead, see the Fortress 1700-DT 3-wheel.
Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?
Eclipse Medical's public Bigfoot card does not print a rain rating. Treat the S846 as a full-size outdoor scooter, store it dry, and do not spray the electronics. Ask us if you need a cover.
Do mobility scooters work in winter?
Eclipse Medical does not print a winter capacity figure for the Bigfoot S846. Cold shortens lead-acid range on any scooter. Keep the Bigfoot off ice and road salt unless you have asked us about local use.
What is the weight limit for a mobility scooter?
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 is rated at 400 lbs (182 kg). Stay at or under that figure. The Interceptor is the 450 lb Eclipse if you need the extra capacity.
How wide is a mobility scooter?
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 is 26 inches wide, 56 inches long, and 49 inches high. Measure doorways, lifts, and ramps against those numbers. The turning radius is 63 inches (161 cm).
How much does a mobility scooter weigh?
The Eclipse Bigfoot S846 weighs 286 lbs (130 kg) with batteries on Eclipse Medical's card. That is the only official weight. The card does not print a without-battery figure or a heaviest-piece figure.
How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?
Eclipse Medical does not print a charge time for the Bigfoot S846. The official pack is two 75 Ah batteries with a 6 amp charger. Ask us for a practical charge window on that pack.
