Description
The Beka Nora Pro Sit-to-Stand Lift, Loop Connection is Beka Hospitec's current-generation standing and raising aid, listed for Canada by Savaria Patient Care. It is rated at 205 kg (451 lb) and is built for the person who can still take load through their legs and needs a comfortable, dignified way to get to the toilet, the shower or a chair. Westin Healthcare delivers it and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
This is the loop-connection NORA Pro, manufacturer code 921078001. Loop-terminated stand-up slings go straight on the carry bar, and a clip sling will not seat on it. NORA Pro is ordered as a loop build or a clip build at the factory, and unlike the older NORA Alu there is no pin kit that converts one to the other, so the connection has to be settled before the order goes in. The clip-connection NORA Pro is the other build.
What makes the Pro different
NORA Pro is a different machine from the NORA Alu, not a facelift of it. The centrepiece is what Beka calls the 3D-Comfort-System: a large, flexible, multi-layer memory-foam leg cushion mounted on two swivel axles, so the leg support follows the natural up-and-down movement of the legs through the stand instead of fighting it. The memory foam gives the legs a secure grip in the cushion and surrounds them during the lift, and the large cushion suits different leg sizes and shapes.
Beka also builds this model in a colour design it calls RUBIN, RAL 3004, which puts red on the leg support, the grip handles and the footplate. Those are the three places a resident has to find and hold, and Beka chose a high-contrast red so they are easy to see for people with orientation difficulties and for people whose eyesight has declined with age. Beka cites two published papers for the choice, which are named in full in our research file.
- Retractable safety belts on each leg, fixed to the lift so they cannot be mislaid
- Detachable horizontal footplate, which lifts off for cleaning
- LCD display showing battery status, a cycle counter, a preventative maintenance indicator and safe-working-load alerts
- Lift controls on the unit itself as well as on the hand control
- Ergonomically shaped handles with additional user grips underneath the bar
- Lithium-ion battery, removable, with a charging station or on-board charging
- Optional leg separator (921077100), which adds stability and, in Beka's words, can support care staff in changing incontinence briefs
Who this lift is for
A standing aid is not a smaller floor lift. Beka states the prerequisites plainly in the operating manual, and they are worth reading before anyone orders one.
- Qualified nursing staff must assess the physical and mental condition of the person before the lift is used
- The person must have sufficient core stability. Beka's stated indicator is being able to sit unaided on the edge of the bed
- The person must be able to bear their body weight with one leg
- Beka rates NORA Pro for a body height of 1.48 m to 1.97 m (4 ft 10 in to 6 ft 6 in) and a maximum body weight of 205 kg (451 lb)
- Indoor use on level floors, short-term use, and no contact with injured skin
Somebody who cannot take load through their legs at all needs a full-body floor lift instead. Beka marks NORA Pro compatible with its own mobility groups 2 and 3.
How it works
The person sits on the edge of the bed or the chair. The stand-up sling goes around the back and under the arms, the lower legs rest against the memory-foam cushion, the retractable belts close over the legs, and the caregiver raises the lift. The lifting arm draws the person up and forward into a supported standing position, and the seat area stays clear, which is what makes toileting and washing possible without a second transfer.
The carry bar carries four sling attachment points at two heights. The additional pair exists for clients under 5.3 ft, and Beka's own note is that they also prevent unpleasant sling pressure under the arms. The lifting motor is self-locking, so the carry bar is protected against unintentional lowering if something fails, and there is a manual emergency lowering knob that turns clockwise to bring the person down onto a chair or a bed.
Charging works two ways. The external charging station sits on a flat surface or mounts to a wall on the supplied rail, and the battery drops into it; the indicator shows green for powered, orange for charging and green again when the pack is full. Or you can take the plug off the charging station and put it straight into the socket on the side of the control unit to charge the lift itself. Beka gives a charging time of about 5 hours and asks that the lift is not used while it charges.

Two dimensions on this lift are printed differently by Beka and by the North American sheet. The table above uses Beka's own figures, which is also what our existing Nora Pro page does. If a millimetre matters for your doorway or your ensuite, call us and we will measure the carton before it ships.
The rest of the NORA range
- 921078001: NORA Pro RUBIN, loop connection. This listing.
- The NORA Pro in clip connection, the same lift with the other carry bar fitting.
- The NORA Alu in clip connection and the NORA Alu in loop connection, the earlier aluminum model at 200 kg (440 lb), without the memory-foam cushion, the LCD or the lithium battery.
- The NORA Pro lithium-ion battery pack, the spare pack for this lift.
If you are not sure which connection your slings use, look at the ends of the sling straps: a clip sling finishes in a moulded plastic clip, a loop sling finishes in a fabric loop. Bring us a photo and we will confirm it. All of our standing aids sit on the sit-to-stand lifts hub.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom, or Mobility Specialties, our partner store in Etobicoke, if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor patient lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?
Yes. If you only need a lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a lift before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub and the patient lift rentals page. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA.
Rental packages include an electric floor lift and a sling. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice. Ask us whether a sit-to-stand lift is on the rental fleet for your dates.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Which slings this lift fits
This is the loop-connection NORA Pro. Savaria supplies the four loop articles 921071050, 921071100, 921071200 and 921071300 (S to XL) for it. Loop straps finish in a fabric loop that goes over a loop pin; the other build takes a moulded plastic clip that seats in a clip holder. They do not swap, and NORA Pro has no conversion kit, so the sling order and the lift order have to agree.
Beka's own sizing guide for the NORA raising sling runs S 40-60 kg, M 55-85 kg, L 75-125 kg, XL 120-160 kg and XXL 150-205 kg, and the sling is nylon with an anti-slip coating on the arm rest and back part, safety belts for the belly part and an additional padded chest strap, washable to 60 degrees C. The size matters more on a standing aid than on a hammock sling, because the sling has to hold the trunk while the person takes load through their legs. Note that the North American sling articles and the European ones are numbered differently and the European range runs one size larger, so order from the Canadian list and let us confirm the article with you.
Beka's manual asks the caregiver to check before every lift that the sling attachment points at the lift match the sling, that the sling and its fittings are undamaged, and that the sling is correctly seated before the person is raised. Remember that when a lift, a carry bar and a sling are assembled, the lowest rating in the assembly is the rating of the whole system. A full-body hammock sling is not a stand-up sling and does not belong on this lift. Browse the range on sit-to-stand slings, and ask our staff to confirm the size and the connection type before you order.
Related lifts from Westin
If the person cannot take load through their legs, a standing aid is the wrong tool and a full-body floor lift is the right one. Beka's own is the Beka Carlo, and the Carlo Alu Comfort EP is the one with powered positioning. The Handicare Eva600EE and the Handicare Carina 350 are the other floor lifts we stock.
Among standing aids, the Handicare MiniLift160EE and the MiniLift200 are the steel alternatives that use a vest and a footplate rather than a carry bar and a sling, and the Span America F400 folds for transport. Everything sits on the patient lifts hub.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not an overseas parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Beka warranty and inspection
Beka Hospitec's operating manual states that the manufacturer is responsible for the safety and reliability of the lift only when regular functional tests and checks are carried out, that the lift must be run with original accessories, and that warranty rights on a modification and on the device functions related to it expire if extensions or fittings are carried out by anyone other than Beka Hospitec or a company Beka has authorized. Beka does not print a year count in that manual, so ask us for the current terms that ship with your serial number and we will handle a claim with you.
Beka prescribes an annual safety check and maintenance by trained and qualified experts the manufacturer has authorized, recorded in your inventory register. Beka also asks for a daily clean and disinfect, a weekly visual check of all components, the power cable and the connections, and a function test. We can quote the annual inspection with the lift.
Frequently asked questions
Which NORA Pro is this exactly?
It is manufacturer code 921078001, the NORA Pro in the RUBIN colour design with the loop connection. Beka rates NORA Pro at 205 kg (451 lb).
What is the difference between clip connection and loop connection?
It is the fitting on the carry bar and the matching termination on the sling. A clip sling finishes in a moulded clip that seats in a clip holder. A loop sling finishes in a fabric loop that goes over a loop pin. They do not swap. This code is the loop build, so order loop stand-up slings for it.
Can a NORA Pro be converted from one connection to the other?
Not with anything Beka publishes. The carry bar loop pin kit is a NORA Alu accessory. On NORA Pro the connection is a factory choice, which is why the two builds have their own part numbers and their own pages here.
How is the Pro different from the NORA Alu?
The Pro adds the 3D-Comfort-System memory-foam leg cushion on two swivel axles, the RUBIN high-contrast colour design, retractable safety belts on each leg, a detachable footplate, an LCD with a cycle counter and maintenance indicator, on-unit controls as well as a hand control, and a lithium-ion battery. It is rated 205 kg (451 lb) against the Alu's 200 kg (440 lb). The Alu is the lighter, simpler machine and is still current.
Does ADP cover a patient lift in Ontario?
No. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Other routes can help when the criteria fit, and our staff will point you at the right one. Call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
Who should not use a standing aid?
Beka is specific. The person needs sufficient core stability, and Beka's own indicator is being able to sit unaided on the edge of the bed, and they need to be able to bear their body weight with one leg. Somebody who cannot do that should be transferred on a full-body floor lift. Beka also asks that qualified nursing staff assess the person before the lift is used.
How tall or short can the person be?
Beka rates NORA Pro for a body height of 1.48 m to 1.97 m (4 ft 10 in to 6 ft 6 in). The carry bar has a second, lower pair of sling attachment points for clients under 5.3 ft, which also keeps the sling from pressing under the arms.
Why is it red?
RUBIN is Beka's colour design for this build. The leg support, the grip handles and the footplate are in RAL 3004 red so the contact points are easy to find, which Beka aims at residents with orientation difficulties and at people whose eyesight has declined. It is a visibility choice, not a treatment.
How long does the battery take to charge?
Beka gives about 5 hours. You can charge the pack in the external charging station, or plug the supplied power supply straight into the socket on the side of the control unit and charge the lift. Do not use the lift while it is charging, and charge it in a well-ventilated room.
Can it be used for toileting and bathing?
Yes. Savaria names toileting and bathing in limited spaces as NORA Pro uses, and all electrical components are splash water resistant and rated IPX4. The footplate lifts off for cleaning.
Does a sling come with the lift?
Order the sling with the lift. Savaria lists every sling as a separate article, and the size has to be matched to the person and the connection to the carry bar. Ask us to confirm what is in the carton when we quote, because Beka's European documentation and the North American accessory list do not describe the same package.
Can I rent a lift first?
Yes. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA, with a sling in the package. Ask us whether a sit-to-stand lift is on the rental fleet for your dates. If you buy afterwards, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program.
