Description
The Drive Titan AXS is Drive Medical's mid-wheel captain-seat powerchair, sold here as TITANAXS-18CS, TITANAXS-20CS, and TITANAXS-22CS. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The person drives with the joystick. Mid-wheel drive puts the 10 inch drive wheels under the seat, so Drive's sheet can print a 20 inch turning radius.
Drive's current Canadian and US catalogues no longer list the Titan AXS as a factory-order model. Call (905) 451-7743 to confirm availability before you plan around this chair; if it is gone, we will show you a comparable current power chair.
Drive lists a 300 lb weight capacity, a 4 mph top speed, and a 19 mile range on the pair of 12V 33AH batteries. The chair does not fold like a travel chair. Seat, batteries, and shroud come off for service or a van. If you want a chair that comes apart for a car trunk, start with the Drive Titan front-wheel chair.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Drive's 18 by 18, 20 by 18, or 22 by 20 inch captain seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants mid-wheel turning in hallways and around a bed. Families usually call us when a folding travel chair feels small, or when they want the AXS 20 inch turn instead of the Titan front-wheel 25 inch turn.
If you need a chair that breaks down without tools for a car, see the Drive Titan TITAN1618. If you need a chair that folds for a trunk or a flight, see the Travel Buggy CITY 2 PLUS. The Titan AXS is a full-size powerchair, not a transport chair and not a folding travel chair.
- Mid-wheel indoor turning on Drive's 20 inch radius
- Captain seat in 18, 20, or 22 inch
- Drive 300 lb rating and 19 mile printed range
Design and build
The base is a mid-wheel platform with 10 by 3 inch flat-free drive wheels and 6 by 2 inch casters. Drive prints 2.5 inches of ground clearance and a 6 degree climbing angle. Brakes are electromagnetic. A freewheel mode lets a helper push the base.
The captain seat reclines, changes height, and swivels in 45 degree steps. The headrest changes height. Armrests are padded and change height, width, and angle. The footplate flips up and changes height, depth, and angle. A positioning belt is included. The joystick mount changes length. Drive includes red and blue colour panels. The controller is a Dynamic Linx 40A with Bluetooth electronics for service.
Drive's sheet does not print a folded suitcase size. The UK instructions say the seat and battery pack come off for transport in a van, truck, or car boot, and that no one should sit in the chair in a moving vehicle.
Drive Titan AXS specifications
These figures are for the Westin seats TITANAXS-18CS, TITANAXS-20CS, and TITANAXS-22CS. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's North American sheet lists 300 lb, 4 mph, 19 miles, a 20 inch turning radius, 2.5 inches of clearance, overall 39.25 by 23.5 by 44 inches, seat-to-floor 20.75 to 21.75 inches, an 18 inch back, a 320W x 4600RPM motor, a 4A charger, a 44 lb battery pair, a 40 lb seat, an 87 lb base, and 171 lb total.
Do not mix these numbers with the Titan front-wheel chair. That chair is Dynamic Shark, 15 miles, 25 inch turn, U1 35AH batteries, and a 3A charger. Do not mix them with the Titan LTE. That is a third Drive model with 20AH batteries.
Warranty on Drive's North American AXS sheet for the original purchaser is limited lifetime on the frame, 24 months on electronics, and 12 months on batteries.
Seat size and accessory options
Use Seat Size to set 18 by 18, 20 by 18, or 22 by 20 inch. That is the choice that maps to TITANAXS-18CS, TITANAXS-20CS, or TITANAXS-22CS.
Seat Size
- 18 inch width by 18 inch depth captain seat (TITANAXS-18CS)
- 20 inch width by 18 inch depth captain seat (TITANAXS-20CS)

Drive also catalogs 16 by 16, 16 by 18, 18 by 16, and 20 by 20 inch. Ask us if you need one of those factory codes.
Use Accessories to add Drive elevating-legrest parts AE2500 and LK3JELR, cane holder SF8030, or oxygen holder SF8010. Ask us which parts you need before you tick every line.
Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
