Description
The Handicare Stand-Aid Sling is a padded torso sling for people who can take part in a standing transfer. It supports sit-to-stand transfers, toileting, and standing training on a sit-to-stand lift with a loop carry bar. Handicare is the factory maker. Savaria Patient Care lists it at 600 lb. Westin Healthcare quotes it and fits it in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area.
This is the Handicare Stand-Aid Sling, article family 2800xx Poly and 5210xx Non-Slip. The Stand Assist Corset Style is a Silvalea corset with an elastic back panel. The Stand Assist Roll Style is a Silvalea under-arm roll. The Stand Assist Standard is a Silvalea padded loop sling. The clip Standard is the clip sibling. The Thorax Sling is the vest for MiniLift. The Professional Deluxe Standing Sling we already stock is a different Handicare standing sling. This page is the loop Stand-Aid torso wrap.
Who this sling is for
This sling is for a person who still has good strength and balance and who can stay on their feet for the transfer. The client must be able to bear weight, take part, lean forward, and return to an upright position. A clinician assesses trunk control before first use. Confirm the plan with a clinician or our staff.
- Sit-to-stand transfers, toileting, and standing training on a sit-to-stand lift with a loop carry bar or yoke
- Homes and care rooms that already use a Handicare sit-to-stand carry bar
- A person who needs mid-to-low back and torso support rather than a MiniLift thorax vest or a ReTurnBelt
- Users inside 600 lb (272 kg), limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling
What you get
You get one Handicare Stand-Aid Sling in the size and fabric on the quote: the torso panel, the loop straps, and the hook-and-loop closure. The padded Poly family is a two-part system. The matching Stand-Aid Belt with the buckle completes that wrap. A lift is sold separately.
The panel sits from mid to low back and wraps the torso. On Poly, hook-and-loop and a buckle hold the wrap. On Non-Slip, the back is a non-slip fabric with a hook-and-loop closure. Loop straps of more than one length hang on the sit-to-stand carry bar or yoke. Arms stay outside the sling. The bottom edge sits at waist level, at the top of the pant line.
Sizing
Handicare lists six factory sizes against waist circumference. Those names are a guide. Two people of the same height or weight can need different sizes. If the person is over 400 lb (181 kg), ask us for a sling consultation. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use.

Handicare Stand-Aid Sling specifications
These figures are for the current Handicare Stand-Aid family, not the Silvalea Stand Assist cards and not the MiniLift Thorax vest. The specification tab holds the stored values.

This sling is not suitable to leave under the person.

Care and laundering
Put the sling in a washing bag before it goes in the washer, so the agitator does not wear the loops or fabric. Wash at a maximum of 176 F (80 C). Follow the tag on the sling you receive. Inspect fabric, seams, the buckle, and loops after every wash. Take the sling out of service if anything is worn, torn, or the label cannot be read.
This sling is not for leave-in-place use. Take it out after the transfer.
Delivery in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team can deliver this sling across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, on its own or with a Handicare lift setup. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sling first. For a scheduled drop-off or a fitting, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works.
This is a small carton. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods can apply when it ships without a lift. If it travels with a patient lift, the lift is oversized and White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Attachment and compatible lifts
The Handicare Stand-Aid Sling is a loop sling. Back straps of the chosen length seat on a sit-to-stand carry bar or yoke. It does not use clip fasteners and it does not use Human Care E-clips.
Handicare writes this sling for a sit-to-stand lift and states that its loop slings fit its complete range of carry bars. We will match a Handicare sit-to-stand that uses that loop bar. The Handicare MiniLift we stock uses the Thorax vest. The Handicare ReTurn we stock uses the ReTurnBelt. The Span F500S and the Beka NORA Pro / NORA Alu family are powered sit-to-stand lifts we already sell. Ask us which sling those lifts take. Shop related styles in sit-to-stand slings.
The finished session is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling. Confirm the bar type before the first stand.
If the person needs a seated transfer sling, start with the Handicare Universal Sling.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the sling needs work, you call the shop that sold it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
Handicare manufacturer warranty
Handicare warrants slings against defects in material or workmanship for 1 year from the date of installation or 18 months from the date of manufacture, whichever is shorter. Expected lifetime is up to 4 years, depending on use, care, and laundering. Inspect the sling before every use and replace it when the cloth, seams, buckle, or loops show wear. Westin Healthcare processes the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions

Is this a loop sling or a clip sling?
Loop. Back straps on a sit-to-stand carry bar or yoke. It does not use clip fasteners or Human Care mushroom E-clips. The Stand Assist Standard with Clips is a different article.
What is the safe working load?
600 lb (272 kg) on every size. The finished system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling.
Which size should I order?
Start with the waist bands on the size table, then confirm with a clinician or our staff before first use. Poly Medium 280072 is the typical adult starting point. We will match the selector to one manufacturer article.
How is this different from the Stand Assist slings?
This page is the Handicare Stand-Aid torso wrap with loop straps for a sit-to-stand yoke. The Stand Assist Corset, Roll, and Standard cards are Silvalea articles with a different cut. The Thorax Sling is the MiniLift vest.
Does it fit MiniLift, NORA, or ReTurn?
Handicare writes this sling for a sit-to-stand lift with a loop carry bar or yoke. MiniLift uses the Thorax vest. ReTurn uses the ReTurnBelt. NORA is the Beka sit-to-stand family we already sell. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will match the lift and the sling together.
How do I put it on?
With the person seated, place the bottom edge at waist level and wrap the torso from back to front. Fasten the hook-and-loop and, on Poly, the buckle. Keep the arms outside. Hang the chosen loop length on the carry bar. We will walk through the first application with you.
Do I need the Stand-Aid Belt as well?
The padded Poly wrap is a two-part system: the sling plus the matching Stand-Aid Belt. Belts are 280076 Small through 280079 Extra Large. Ask us to add the matching belt on the quote.
How do I wash it?
Put it in a laundry bag and machine wash at a maximum of 176 F (80 C). Inspect loops, the buckle, and seams after every wash. Follow the tag on the sling you receive.
Can it stay under the person after the transfer?
No. Handicare states that this sling is not suitable to leave under the patient. Take it off once the person is seated and safe.
Does funding cover a sling in Ontario?
Slings follow the funding path of the lift they are used with. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check the sit-to-stand lift and the sling together.
