Pride's Atlas Plus 2 spec table rates the PLR-2985M at 400 lbs (181 kg), a 22 by 21 inch (56 by 53 cm) seat, 19.5 inch (49.5 cm) seat-to-floor, and 16 inches (41 cm) from the wall. It is a four-motor VivaLift: power headrest, power lumbar, independent backrest, and a standard footrest extension. A lithium backup pack keeps the chair usable if household power fails.
Who this lift chair is for
This lift chair is for a person who stays at or under the 400 lb rating, sits well in a 22 inch medium seat, and wants a power lift recliner with a wireless phone pad and a cup holder rather than heat pads. Families usually call us when getting out of a lounge chair has become the hard part of the day, and they still want the backrest and footrest to move on their own.
If you want three heat pads on a current Pride chair, start with the Pride VivaLift Radiance. If you want the same memory toggle without the wireless pad, see the Pride VivaLift Tranquil 2. Atlas Plus 2 is not a 3-position classic Pride Elegance.

Positions and controls
The Pride VivaLift Atlas Plus 2 uses true-infinite positioning. The backrest and footrest move independently, so the feet can sit above the heart without the back having to follow. Pride's toggle remote stores two favourite positions and has a USB port. The hideaway wireless pad is in the right armrest and charges phones that already support wireless charging. Pride says not to put a watch or other gadget on that pad. The cup holder hides in the left armrest.
The lithium backup is there so the lift still runs when the room loses power. Charge the pack as Pride's insert describes. The chair is not a substitute for a caregiver when the person cannot use a hand control.

Atlas Plus 2 or a current VivaLift
Atlas Plus 2 is the VivaLift that put a wireless pad and a cup holder on a medium infinite chair without heat. Pride's current heat chair is the Radiance PLR-3955. Pride's current tilt chair is the Ultra PLR-4955. A 3-position Pride Elegance such as the LC-570 keeps the back and footrest on one path and does not have power lumbar or a power headrest.
Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Pride manufacturer warranty
Pride's Atlas Plus 2 sheet prints a 7-year pro-rated limited warranty for the original purchaser. Pride's lift-chair insert also keeps a lifetime term on the lift and scissor mechanism and the lift frame, and 12 months on the lithium backup pack. Fabric sits outside that term. Exceeding the 400 lb rating voids the Pride warranty. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

The Pride VivaLift Atlas Plus 2 is no longer on Pride's current US or Canada VivaLift indexes. Pride's US product page says it does not accept new orders on that chair. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will tell you what we can still supply, or we will point you to the Radiance or Tranquil 2.

The Pride VivaLift Atlas Plus 2 is a Medium PLR-2985M. Pride's height guide is 5'4" to 5'9" (163 to 175 cm) with a 22 by 21 inch seat. Sit in the chair before you buy if you can. Height guides are only a start.
How Far From the Wall Does a Lift Chair Need to Be?
The Pride VivaLift Atlas Plus 2 needs 16 inches (41 cm) from the wall, as printed on Pride's spec table. Measure that gap before delivery day.
What Is the Difference Between a 3 Position and an Infinite Position Lift Chair?
A 3-position lift chair such as the Pride Elegance LC-570 moves the back and footrest together along a set path. The Pride VivaLift Atlas Plus 2 is infinite: the backrest and footrest run on their own motors, so you can raise the feet without dropping the back to match.
