This is the Lunar HD full-back height (20 to 24 in) from 22 in wide. It is not the standard 250 lb Lunar Basic, and it is not the HD mid height.
Who this back support is for
The Lunar Heavy Duty Full Support backrest is for a person at or under 500 lb (227 kg) whose seating therapist wants a ribbed extra-large Lunar shell in a full height, with basic or ultra laterals. Future Mobility designed Lunar HD for high-load use with aggressive lateral support.
A seating therapist should confirm the height and the lateral style. Westin does not give clinical positioning advice. If you have questions about posture or transfers, ask the therapist who assessed you, or call us and we will book that conversation.
Hardware, laterals, and fit
The shell is aluminum with reinforcement ribs. Foam is replaceable. Pins take up to a 2 in (5 cm) seat-width difference. Height, depth, and recline angle adjust on the hardware. Lower latch levers release the back. Hardware fits 3/4 in, 7/8 in, and 1 in canes.
Lunar HD offers two lateral styles only: basic and ultra. There is no "no lateral" HD style on the factory grid. Use Model Choice for Basic Lateral or Ultra Lateral.

Use Choose Cushion Size for the width by height pair. Use Colors for the cover. Use Model Choice for Basic or Ultra laterals. We set the hardware on the canes at delivery.
HD Full, HD Mid, or Lunar Basic
Stay here for the 500 lb full-height shell. The Lunar Heavy Duty Mid Support is the 16 to 18 in HD height. The Lunar Basic Full Support is the 250 lb full-height shell through 22 in wide. The Lunar Slim lists Slim HD sizes at 500 lb when a slimmer shell is the priority.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Westin's own team delivers and fits this back support across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, mount it on the wheelchair canes, and show you the quick-release latches before we leave.

A wheelchair back support is ordered by seat width and back height, not by clothing size. Measure the wheelchair seat width and how high the shell should sit on the back canes, then use Choose Cushion Size for the matching width by height.
