Description
The Golden Cricket GP-302 is Golden Technologies' forward-folding carbon fibre power wheelchair. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The person drives with the joystick.
Golden lists a 300 lb (136 kg) rating, speeds up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h), a 22 inch (56 cm) turning radius, and up to 9.3 miles (15.0 km) per charge on the 12AH 24V lithium-ion pack. The chair weighs 33.2 lbs (15.1 kg) without the battery, joystick, cushion, and bag. Golden weighs the assembled chair at 39.3 lbs (17.8 kg).
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Golden's 18 by 18 inch memory foam seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants a forward-fold carbon chair that stands upright in a closet. Families usually call us when they want a tighter 22 inch turn than the Cricket LT, or when they want the 12AH pack and the included travel bag.
If you want the lighter 25.8 lb side-fold, start with the Golden Cricket LT. If you want an aluminum folder with spring suspension, see the Golden Stride. The Cricket GP-302 is not a take-apart Envy.
- A 33.2 lb carbon fibre forward-fold, without battery, joystick, cushion, and bag
- An 18 by 18 inch memory foam seat
- A 12AH 24V lithium pack Golden prints as airline-approved, with the airline still to confirm
Range, speed, and batteries
The Golden Cricket GP-302 travels up to 9.3 miles (15.0 km) per charge on the standard 12AH 24V lithium-ion pack. Golden's footnote says range changes with rider weight, drive surface, terrain, and battery type, and the printed figure is at 200 lbs. Plan a shorter day than 15 km if the person is near 300 lbs or the route is not flat.
Top speed is up to 3.7 mph (6.0 km/h). The charger is off-board. The controller is 35 Amp. Golden weighs that pack at 3.8 lbs (1.7 kg).
Portability and transport
Golden forward-folds the Cricket GP-302 in one step. Folded size on the sell sheet is 30.2 by 22.25 by 14 inches without the memory foam cushion. It stands upright for storage. A protective travel bag is included. It does not take apart like a LiteRider Envy.
Golden prints the 12AH lithium pack as airline-approved and still leaves the flight to the airline. Consult the airline before you fly. Golden does not print a watt-hour figure on this sell sheet, so we do not invent one.

Cricket GP-302 or Cricket LT
The Cricket GP-302 is Golden's 300 lb, 18 by 18 inch forward-fold chair with a 12AH pack and a 22 inch turn. The Cricket LT is Golden's 300 lb side-fold chair with a 10AH pack and a 29.5 inch turn. Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this power wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, unfold it, and show you the joystick, the one-step fold, and the charger before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This power wheelchair folds for a car trunk. If it is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
