Description
The Handicare Carina350EE Floor Lift with Low Legs is a foldable steel floor lift from Handicare's SystemRoMedic range, listed in Canada by Savaria Patient Care. It is rated at 350 lb (160 kg) and it collapses without tools, so one lift can move between rooms, between homes, or into a vehicle. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
This model adds the low-leg chassis to the electrically widening Carina350EE. You keep base widening on the hand control, and the legs are built to slide under a lower bed frame. Handicare builds four Carina350 order codes and they share one frame, one lifting range, and one carry bar. What changes between them is how the base widens and how low the legs sit. This page is manufacturer code 60600014. The overview of the range is on the Handicare Carina 350 page.
Who this lift is for
Carina350 suits a home, a small residence, or any setting where the lift has to be put away between transfers. Handicare describes it as sturdy, stable, and lightweight for a steel lift, with a narrow and compact shape that reaches into tight spaces. Folded it measures 47.9 x 25.3 x 16.8 in, and it is delivered folded. Despite the size it still reaches 66.1 in at the top of the range, which Handicare calls unusually high for a collapsible lift.
- Homes where the lift has to live in a cupboard or a car boot between uses
- Lower bed frames that a standard-height chassis will not roll under
- Seated transfers between a bed, a chair, a wheelchair, and a commode
- Lifting from the floor, from a bed, or from a chair, seated or supine
- Moving one lift between users, rooms, and homes
- Users inside 350 lb (160 kg), limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling
- Caregivers who would rather widen the base from the pendant than with a foot pedal
How it folds and how it lifts
Folding takes a few steps and no tools. You lock the castors, run the lift arm down, press the emergency stop, free the actuator with the quick-connecting locking pin and move it to its mount on the mast, fold the lift arm down and hold it with the tension strap, then loosen the locking handle at the base of the mast and lower the mast onto the undercarriage. Setting it up is the same steps in reverse. Handicare is firm that the mast must seat fully in the base and line up with it before the locking handle is tightened.
The boom is electric and the base widens electrically. The hand control has four clearly marked, easy-to-push buttons: up and down for the boom, and open and close for the legs. All movement stops the moment a button is released. The pendant has a hook so it stores on the lift and the cable does not tangle.
The control box carries a lift counter and an overload indicator, and it holds the emergency stop. There is both manual and electrical emergency lowering. Charging is built in: plug the cable into a wall outlet and the control box shows a green lamp for charger power and a yellow lamp while the battery charges, stopping on its own when the battery is full. A tone sounds while you are lifting if the battery is getting low. Handicare requires at least 4 hours of charging before first use, and asks that the castors be locked while charging. A wall-mounted charger is available; the battery pack lifts out and sits in it.
The low-leg chassis is the difference on this code. The front castors drop to 1.4 in (2 x 35 mm) while the rear castors stay at 3.9 in (100 mm), which is what lets the legs run under a lower bed frame. Bring us the height of the frame you need to clear and we will tell you which of the two chassis heights fits.

The rest of the Carina350 family
Four order codes, each its own product page here, so the code you buy is the code that ships:
- 60600011: Carina350EM, manual pedal base widening, standard legs.
- 60600012: Carina350EM, manual pedal base widening, low legs.
- 60600009: Carina350EE, electrical base widening, standard legs.
- 60600014: Carina350EE, electrical base widening, low legs. This listing.
EE is electrical base widening from the hand control. EM is manual base widening with a foot pedal. Low legs is a lower leg profile for use with lower beds. Every code is 350 lb (160 kg) with the same 17.7 in bar and the same lifting range. If you are not sure which one fits the room, call (905) 451-7743.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom, or Mobility Specialties, our partner store in Etobicoke, if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor patient lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?
Yes. If you only need a lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a floor lift before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub and the patient lift rentals page. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA.
Rental packages include an electric floor lift and a sling. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Which slings this lift fits
Carina350 is supplied complete and ready to use, fitted with SlingBar M, the two-point aluminum sling bar 17.7 in (450 mm) wide, with reliable safety latches that stop the straps creeping off the hooks. A SwiftHook accessory, built-in charging, and encapsulated twin castors with bumpers are also standard. This is a loop attachment. It is not a clip sit-to-stand bar.
Handicare's sling instruction sheet states that all of its loop-style slings are compatible with its complete range of carry bars. The Carina owner's manual adds two rules worth repeating: using lifting accessories other than the approved ones can entail a risk, and the safe working load of the assembled system is always the lowest rating printed on any part of it. That means a 350 lb (160 kg) lift with a lighter sling gives you a lighter transfer, not a 350 lb (160 kg) one.
Loop slings we carry that suit this bar include the Handicare Universal Sling, the Comfort Care Sling with Head Support, the Handicare Deluxe Hammock Sling, and the Handicare Band Sling. Confirm the size and the label rating with a clinician or our staff before first use. Shop the full range: universal slings, full-body slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings.
Handicare lists these Carina accessories by code: Endcover Carina 70200030, which covers the end of the mast when the lift is folded; ReadyStrap locking strap 16010; SlingBar XS 70200071 (9.8 in) and SlingBar S 70200001 (13.8 in) for smaller frames; SlingBar L 70200003 (23.6 in) for a wider sling opening; SlingBarSpreader M 70200042 side bars; StretcherBar 70200006 for horizontal lifting; the four-point SlingBar RFL X4 70200017; scale 600451; and external Linak charger 70200029. The HB33-6 six-button hand control 70200089, with service, battery-status, and overload indicators, is listed for the two electrical-widening codes 60600009 and 60600014. Ask us to quote any of them with the lift.
Sit-to-stand thorax slings belong on a sit-to-stand lift such as the Handicare MiniLift, not on this boom.
Related patient lifts from Westin
If you need more capacity than 350 lb (160 kg), the Handicare Eva floor lift is the aluminum non-folding family at 450 lb and 600 lb, and the Handicare FGA-700 is the 700 lb bariatric lift with a powered base. If you want a different foldable, the SPAN F400 folds at 400 lb with a six-point bar. Beka's CARLO is the aluminum hospital floor lift. They are all on the patient lifts hub.
If a ceiling track suits the room better than a floor lift, look at the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, and the Savaria M-Series.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Handicare Carina350 warranty
Handicare's Carina owner's manual states that the warranty applies only if repairs or alterations are carried out by personnel authorized by Handicare, and that the lift must not be used or immersed in water or charged in a wet room. The manual does not print a year count we can quote here, so ask us for the Handicare terms that ship with your serial number and we will handle the claim with you. Handicare also offers service agreements for maintenance and regular testing of a mobile lift; we can quote that with the machine.
Frequently asked questions
Which Carina model is this exactly?
It is manufacturer code 60600014, the Carina350EE with low legs. Handicare rates it at 350 lb (160 kg) with a 17.7 in SlingBar M.
Does ADP cover a patient lift in Ontario?
No. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Other routes can help when the criteria fit. Call (905) 451-7743 and our staff will point you at the right one before you buy.
What is the safe working load?
350 lb (160 kg). The assembled system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the carry bar, and the sling, so check the sling label as well.
What is the difference between EM and EE?
EM widens the base with a foot pedal at the lower back of the lift and uses a two-button hand control. EE widens the base electrically and uses a four-button hand control. This unit is EE, so it has the four -button pendant.
Does it really fold without tools?
Yes. Handicare's fold is a short sequence of hand operations: brake the castors, run the arm down, press the emergency stop, move the actuator on its quick-connecting pin, strap the arm down, and lower the mast. Folded it is 47.9 x 25.3 x 16.8 in. It ships folded.
How much lower are the low legs?
The front castors drop to 1.4 in (2 x 35 mm) against 3.9 in (100 mm) on the standard chassis, and the leg profile drops with them. Handicare's own description is that the low-leg variants are for use with lower beds. Measure the frame you need to clear and call (905) 451-7743.
How much does it weigh?
Handicare's dimensions sheet prints 78 lb (35.4 kg) for code 60600014. It is a steel lift, so it is heavier than the aluminum Eva, but it is the one that collapses.
What slings fit it?
Handicare loop slings on the two-point SlingBar M. Handicare states that all of its loop-style slings work with its complete range of carry bars. Match the sling's own rating to the transfer weight and ask our staff to confirm the size.
Does a sling come with the lift?
The lift is supplied complete with SlingBar M, a SwiftHook, a hand control, and built-in charging. A sling is quoted separately so it can be sized to the person.
How high does it lift?
The lifting range is 22.8-66.1 in (580-1680 mm), and total height runs 50.8-72.4 in. Handicare calls that an unusually high reach for a collapsible lift, and it covers low lifting from the floor as well as high lifting.
How long does it charge for?
At least 4 hours before first use. After that, charge it after use so the battery is always full. Lock the castors while it charges, and do not charge it in a wet room.
Can I rent a lift first?
Yes. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA, with a sling in the package. If you buy afterwards, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit programme.
How is this different from the Handicare Eva?
Eva is aluminum, does not fold, and starts at 450 lb. Carina350 is powder-coated steel, folds without tools, and is rated 350 lb (160 kg). Pick Carina when the lift has to be stored or transported; pick Eva when you need more capacity or horizontal lifting.
Is this a Savaria lift or a Handicare lift?
Both names are correct. Handicare designed and builds it under the SystemRoMedic name, and Savaria Patient Care is the brand that lists and supports it in Canada.
