What does it fit? Handicare loop slings on the two-point SlingBar L. Handicare rates every SlingBar variant to 660 lb, so the sling and the lift set the limit, not the bar. Supplied complete with the bar, hand control, and built-in charging; sling quoted separately. Not a folding lift.

Description

The Handicare Eva600EE Floor Lift is an aluminum SystemRoMedic floor lift with a powered boom and electrical base widening, built by Handicare and listed in Canada by Savaria Patient Care. It is rated at 600 lb (270 kg) and built for seated transfers, supine and horizontal lifting, floor pickups, and gait training. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

This is the standard-leg Eva600EE. It carries the wide 23.6 in carry bar and the 600 lb rating, on the full-height chassis. Every Eva in this family shares the same aluminum frame, the same three-socket mast, and the same control box. What changes between the order codes is the safe working load, the carry-bar width, and whether the chassis is standard height or low. This page is the Eva600EE standard-leg build, manufacturer code 60100003. The whole range is compared on the Handicare Eva floor lift overview.

Who this lift is for

Eva suits a home, a retirement residence, or a long-term care floor where transfers happen every day and the caregiver needs one machine that covers most positions. The aluminum frame keeps the pushing weight down at 85.9 lb (39 kg) with the battery, and the encapsulated castors roll on soft flooring. Handicare states the lift is for indoor use on a level floor, by people who have been trained on it.

  • Seated transfers between a bed, a chair, a wheelchair, and a commode
  • Supine and horizontal lifting when a StretcherBar and stretcher sling are fitted
  • Picking a person up from the floor after a fall, within the rated load
  • Gait and ambulation training, which Handicare names as an Eva use
  • Users inside 600 lb (270 kg), limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling
  • Larger users who need the wider 23.6 in bar to open the sling out

How it lifts

The boom is electric and the base is electric. On an EE build the same hand control that raises and lowers the boom also opens and closes the legs, so the caregiver can widen the base around a wheelchair or a commode without letting go of the pendant. The buttons are raised and easy to push. The control box carries diagnostics including a lift counter and an overload indicator.

The mast drops into one of three height sockets, which shifts the working range up or down by 50 or 100 mm and lets you set the lift for floor pickups or for a high bed. Handlebars adjust for the caregiver's height. There is an emergency stop on the control box, an electrical emergency lowering control, and a manual emergency lowering knob on the actuator. Rear castors have brakes; Handicare says to lock them for a floor pickup, not during a normal transfer.

Handicare's standard-leg drawing prints the chassis at 4.5 in (115 mm) and the front rail at 2.3 in (60 mm). If the bed you are working with sits lower than that, the low-leg build of this same lift is the one to order.

The Eva is Type B, Class II, and certified to ISO 10535:2006 with ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1:2005 and to ISO 10535:2006 with CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1:08.

The rest of the Eva family

Handicare builds five Eva order codes. Each one is its own product here, so the code you buy is the code that ships:

  • 60100002: Eva450EE, standard legs. Ask us to quote it.
  • 60100006: Eva450EE with low legs.
  • 60100007: Eva450EM with low legs, pedal base widening. Ask us to quote it.
  • 60100003: Eva600EE, standard legs. This listing.
  • 60100010: Eva600EE with low legs.

EE means the base widens electrically from the hand control. EM means the base widens with a pedal at the back of the chassis. Low legs means the front of the leg is built lower to clear a lower bed. If you are not sure which code fits the room, call (905) 451-7743 and we will work it out with you, or compare them on the Eva overview page.

Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.

You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom, or Mobility Specialties, our partner store in Etobicoke, if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Floor patient lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?

Yes. If you only need a lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a floor lift before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub and the patient lift rentals page. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA.

Rental packages include an electric floor lift and a sling. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice.

If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.

Which slings this lift fits

Eva600EE ships complete with a 23.6 in (600 mm) bar, the two-point aluminum SlingBar L with safety latches, and a hand control. Sling loops seat on the two hooks and the latches stop the straps creeping off. This is a loop attachment. It is not a clip sit-to-stand bar and it is not the six-point bar used on the SPAN F-series.

Handicare's sling instruction sheet states that all of its loop-style slings are compatible with its complete range of carry bars, and the Eva owner's manual says to use lifting accessories approved for the lift. Handicare also prints that every SlingBar variant is rated for users up to 660 lb (300 kg), so on this lift the bar is not the limit. The owner's manual is clear that the working load of the assembled system is the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling, so check the sling label before you pair it.

That matters most on a 600 lb Eva. A sling rated at 450 lb does not give you a 600 lb transfer. Loop slings we carry that are rated well above this lift include the Savaria Deluxe Bariatric Sling and the Savaria Bariatric In-Situ Hammock. For everyday seated work look at the Handicare Universal Sling and the Comfort Care Sling with Head Support, and confirm the size and the label rating with our staff first.

Handicare lists optional bars for the Eva family: SlingBar XS (70200071), SlingBar S (70200001), SlingBar M (70200002), SlingBar L (70200003), SlingBarSpreader M side bars (70200042) to open the sling for a more reclined position, StretcherBar (70200006) with StretcherSling (46502007) for a supine lift, the four-point SlingBar RFL X4 (70200017), and the SwiftHook (70200008). Handicare's Eva technical sheet also lists the AmbulationArm armrests (80100010) for all Eva mobile lifts, which the person can hold during gait training. Ask us to quote any of them with the lift. Shop our matching sling styles: universal slings, full-body slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings.

Sit-to-stand thorax slings belong on a sit-to-stand lift such as the Handicare MiniLift, not on this boom.

Related patient lifts from Westin

If you want a lift that folds flat for a car boot or a closet, the Handicare Carina 350 is the foldable steel lift in the same brand family, rated 350 lb. The SPAN F400 is the foldable 400 lb option with a six-point bar. If you need more than this lift carries, the Handicare FGA-700 is the 700 lb bariatric aluminum floor lift with a powered base and gait bars. Beka's CARLO is the aluminum hospital floor lift. All of them sit on the patient lifts hub.

If a ceiling track suits the room better than a floor lift, look at the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, and the Savaria M-Series.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Handicare Eva warranty

Handicare's Eva owner's manual states that the warranty applies only when repairs or alterations are carried out by personnel authorized by Handicare. The manual and the current Savaria card do not print a year split we can quote here, so ask us for the Handicare terms that ship with your serial number and we will handle the claim with you. Handicare also requires a thorough inspection at least once a year by authorized personnel, and offers service agreements; we can quote that with the lift.

Frequently asked questions

Which Eva model is this exactly?

It is manufacturer code 60100003, the Eva600EE on the standard chassis. Handicare rates it at 600 lb (270 kg) with a 23.6 in (600 mm) carry bar.

Does ADP cover a patient lift in Ontario?

No. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Other routes can help when the criteria fit, and our staff will point you at the right one. Call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.

What is the safe working load?

600 lb (270 kg) for the lift itself. The assembled system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the carry bar, and the sling, so check the sling label too.

What do EE, EM, and low legs mean?

EE is electrical base widening from the hand control. EM is manual base widening with a foot pedal. Low legs is a lower leg profile built to clear lower bed frames. This unit is EE with standard-height legs.

Does the Eva fold for a car?

No. The Eva is not a folding lift. The mast lifts out of the base for assembly and for moving it in a van, but it does not collapse the way the Carina 350 does. If you need a lift that folds, look at the Carina 350 or the SPAN F400.

What slings fit it?

Handicare loop slings on the two-point SlingBar L. Handicare states that all its loop-style slings work with its complete range of carry bars. Match the sling's own rating to the transfer weight and ask our staff to confirm the size.

Does a sling come with the lift?

The lift is supplied complete with the carry bar, the hand control, and built-in charging. A sling is quoted separately so it can be sized to the person.

Can it be used for gait training?

Yes. Handicare names gait training as an Eva use and lists the AmbulationArm armrests as an accessory for all Eva mobile lifts. Use a walking sling that Handicare rates for this bar, and have a clinician set the programme.

How long does the battery last between charges?

Handicare fits a high-capacity battery with built-in charging and recommends charging daily. It must be charged for at least 4 hours before first use, and the emergency stop has to be released while it charges. A tone sounds when the charge is getting low.

Can it lift someone off the floor?

Yes. The lifting range starts at 19.7, and the mast can be set in a lower socket for extra reach downward. Handicare says to lock the rear castors for a floor pickup.

Can I rent a lift first?

Yes. Westin rents electric floor lifts across Brampton and the GTA, with a sling in the package. If you buy afterwards, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit programme.

How is this different from the Carina 350?

The Carina 350 is powder-coated steel, folds without tools, and is rated 350 lb. The Eva is aluminum, does not fold, and is rated 600 lb here. Eva also covers horizontal lifting with a StretcherBar.
