Description
The Span America Mattress Pump Cable Management Kit MC9 (manufacturer code Q6719) is the Savaria Patient Care kit for managing a therapy mattress pump's cable on a Span Encore MC9 bed. Westin Healthcare specifies, supplies and services Span beds and therapy surfaces in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area.
An honest note before you read on. Savaria lists this kit in its 2026 range and gives it a code and a description. It does not publish a parts list, a dimension or a photograph for it, and we will not fill those gaps with guesses. What we can do is set out exactly what Span says about cables on this bed, because that is what the kit is for, and confirm the details with Savaria before your order is placed.
Why a pump cable needs managing on this bed
The Encore MC9 is a retracting bed, and Span is unusually direct in its owner manual about what that means for anything trailing near the frame.
- The GlideAlign deck travels 12 inches while the bed is in use, so the geometry around the frame changes during normal operation, not just during a move.
- The bed drops to 7-7/8 inches at its lowest, closing the gap between the frame and the floor where a cable would otherwise sit.
- Four DC linear actuators drive the bed, and the foot end staff controller adds Trendelenburg, reverse Trendelenburg, comfort chair and rapid head deck lowering. Those are a lot of moving parts.
- The bed is mobile at any height on dual 3 inch casters, so it gets rolled with the pump attached.
Span's instructions follow from that. After any installation, the manual says to "run the bed through the full range of motion to ensure cables/wires are bundled/stored clear of moving parts", warning that failing to do so "could cause damage to the cable/wire and cause bed malfunction". It warns against rolling the bed over cables. Its preventative maintenance schedule asks you to inspect the cabling for drooping or loose wires and to check that nothing is interfering with any moving part. And its warning about the power supply cord is the strongest in the book: improper routing "could result in injury or death", and cable ties fitted to keep cords away from moving parts must not be removed.
A therapy surface adds a pump to that picture. This kit is Savaria's answer for the Encore.
Which beds this fits
- Encore MC9 series. Savaria's 2026 pricelist names the MC9 platform in the description of this kit, and that is the only fitment statement published for the code.
- Not stated for anything else. No Span brochure, owner manual or catalogue we read names this code, so we make no claim about the Advantage ReadyWide MC7, the Weigh Scale MC7WS, the Advantage QD1000 or the Rexx. If you need cable management on one of those, ask us and we will take the question to Savaria rather than substitute a part.
- Treat the MC9 wording as deliberate. Savaria does say "all bed models" when it means it, as it does for the Q6729 foot end equipment bar in the same range. Against this kit it names the MC9.
The Encore beds this belongs to are the base Span Encore package and the 2026 builds: the MC9RWB-C, the MC9RWZ and the MC9RWZB-C. They sit alongside the Span Weigh Scale bed and the Span Advantage Q-Series. Call (905) 451-7743 with the model and serial number from the bed label and we will confirm the platform before anything is ordered.
The bed this kit works around
These are the published Encore MC9R figures from Span's owner manual. They describe the bed, not the kit, and they are here because they are the constraints the cable has to live inside.

One thing worth keeping in mind on every Span accessory. Span states in the Encore owner manual that the safe working load includes the weight of accessories, options and bedding, not just the person in the bed. The Encore MC9 is rated at 600 lb (272 kg) safe working load with a maximum patient weight of 450 lb (204 kg). Every option you add uses part of that allowance, so it is worth totalling the build rather than adding parts one at a time.
Pairing a therapy surface with an Encore
Span asks for a "proper sized mattress with special firm borders to prevent patients from being trapped between the mattress and rail", and directs buyers to the manufacturer for sizing recommendations. That matters more than usual on this bed, because the Encore's sleep surface can be 36, 39 or 42 inches wide and 76, 80 or 84 inches long depending on the build, and the width can be changed at the bedside with the ReadyWide expanders.
We supply the Savaria powered surfaces that sit on these beds, including the PressureGuard APM, the PressureGuard APM2 and the PressureGuard Custom Care Convertible, along with the wider alternating pressure mattress range. Tell us the bed build and the surface together and we will size the set and get the cable management line right in one pass.
Ordering and fitting in Brampton and the GTA
This is a part for a bed that is already in service, so the useful question is who puts it on. Westin Healthcare's own technicians fit Span bed parts in homes and in facilities across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, and we have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather talk it through in person. Orders travel by standard parcel or freight depending on the equipment, and White Glove Delivery is available for eligible products in Toronto and the GTA. The delivery method, any exclusions, and any charge are set out on the shipping policy and confirmed on your order before you commit. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page with the model and serial number from the bed label and we will confirm the part before anything ships.
Service, repairs, and warranty

Span manufacturer warranty
Span Medical Products Canada warrants all beds and bed accessories sold by Span to be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal and proper use and service from the date of initial delivery. Bed accessories carry one year and parts subject to wear carry one year, which is the row this part sits in. Electrical components, meaning the control box and all actuators, carry five years. The frame carries fifteen years and all welds on steel structural components carry fifteen years. Labour for service is not part of the manufacturer warranty, and the warranty does not apply where a product has been abused, misused, improperly maintained, exposed to excessive loads, or altered without Span's approval. Span also states plainly that using replacement parts or accessories from other manufacturers will invalidate the warranty and could damage the bed, so a generic substitute is a false economy on a Span bed. We handle the claim with you.

Frequently asked questions
What is the manufacturer code?
Q6719. Savaria lists it in its 2026 range as a mattress pump cable management kit for the MC9 platform.
What is in the kit?
Savaria does not publish a parts list, and we are not going to invent one. Tell us what you are trying to solve and we will get the contents confirmed by Savaria before you commit to an order.
Which pump does it suit?
Savaria does not name one. If you tell us which surface and pump you are running on the bed, we will confirm the fit with Savaria rather than assume it.
Will it fit my Advantage ReadyWide MC7?
Savaria's description names the MC9 platform only, so we do not claim an MC7 fitment. The same cabling warnings appear in the MC7 owner manual, so the need is real on that bed too, and we will ask Savaria what the right part is if that is your situation.
Why does a pump cable matter on this bed more than another?
Because the Encore moves in more directions than most. The deck retracts 12 inches, the bed drops to 7-7/8 inches, four actuators drive it, and the staff controller adds Trendelenburg and rapid head lowering. Span's own instruction is to run the bed through its full range of motion after any installation and confirm the cables are clear of moving parts.
Can I just use cable ties?
Span fits cable ties itself, and its manual specifically tells you not to remove the ones that keep the power cord away from moving parts. Adding your own is not the same as the manufacturer's kit, and Span's warranty terms exclude parts and accessories from other manufacturers. Ask us before improvising on a bed under warranty.
What is the warranty?
One year. Span bed accessories carry one year in the manufacturer's warranty table, and so do cables. Labour for service is not part of the manufacturer warranty.
