The scooter for the selected term
The published rental total covers the mobility scooter for the term shown in the table. We confirm the actual scooter, battery and matched charger before handoff.
Delivery and HST
Delivery, installation and pickup is $120. Customer collection from Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive in Brampton is the alternative. HST is added at checkout.
The $500 comes back
The $500 deposit is refunded after the scooter returns and is inspected, normally within about three business days. Deductions apply for damage, missing parts or cleaning beyond normal use.
Westin does not publish a daily rate. The minimum term is one week.
Portable or full-size, 3-wheel or 4-wheel: which scooter do you need?
Choose by where it must turn, how far it must travel, the rider's weight and whether it must come apart for a car boot. The product photo on this page shows a four-wheel scooter.
Tighter indoor turning
A 3-wheel design usually prioritizes manoeuvring space. Confirm the available model before booking because this page does not promise that a 3-wheel scooter will be supplied.
More stable outdoor stance
A 4-wheel design prioritizes stability for outdoor paved routes. It can need more turning room in a hallway, lift or hotel room.
Model details change the answer
Tell us the route and the tightest space. We confirm whether the scooter available for your dates is portable or full-size, 3-wheel or 4-wheel.
What is the range, weight capacity and heaviest car-boot piece?
Range, capacity, dimensions and the heaviest disassembled piece are model-specific. Call with the rider's weight, planned distance and car-boot opening so we can confirm the actual rental scooter rather than quote another model's numbers.
Plan the real route
Published range is not a guarantee. Hills, rider weight, cold weather, stops and battery condition can reduce how far a scooter travels on one charge.
Measure the opening and each piece
A travel scooter may disassemble, but the number and weight of the pieces depend on the model. Measure the boot opening and make sure the person loading it can lift the heaviest part.
Use the label, not an estimate
We confirm the labelled weight capacity of the scooter available before booking. The rider and anything carried in the basket must stay within that limit.
How do you charge it, and can you use it in winter?
Use the matched charger at a household outlet and follow the instructions for the scooter supplied. Charge time varies by model, so we confirm it at handoff instead of publishing an unverified number.
Use only the matched charger
Ask where the charge port is, how the indicator behaves and where the scooter can be stored while charging. A condo may also have its own storage and charging rules.
Start with enough charge to return
Plan a return margin rather than riding until the indicator is almost empty. Hills, cold and rider weight can make the return trip use more energy.
It is not a snow vehicle
Ice, packed snow and lost curb cuts can stop a medical scooter, and cold reduces range. Clear the route or use an accessible indoor and transit plan when conditions are poor.
Can you take a rental scooter on TTC or Wheel-Trans?
Wheel-Trans treats 3-wheel and 4-wheel mobility scooters as conventional devices when they are no more than 31 inches wide and the combined person-plus-scooter weight is no more than 800 lb. We must confirm the rental scooter's width before you rely on it for a trip.
Notify them before booking a trip
The customer or support person must control the scooter. Wheel-Trans operators secure it once aboard but do not drive it. Call 416-393-4111 with the device details.
Do not assume a blanket yes
The winter restriction reported for e-bikes and stand-up e-scooters is not the same as a medical mobility scooter. Confirm dimensions and the route with TTC before travelling.
A medical scooter is a pedestrian
Ontario treats wheelchairs and medical scooters as pedestrians. The medical scooter we rent does not need a driver's licence or plate. Municipal sidewalk rules can still apply.

Can you rent a scooter for one day, a hotel or a venue?
Westin's published minimum is one week. Call with the exact address, loading instructions and dates for a hotel or venue, because this page does not promise airport, cruise-port or event-floor delivery.
Use the on-grounds option for one day
The CNE publishes an on-grounds Scouts Canada scooter rental at $50 per day with a $100 refundable deposit. Check the current event details and reservation rules on the CNE scooter service page.
Give us the access instructions
Our regular rental area includes Toronto, but the building controls loading, elevator and storage access. Call before booking so dispatch can confirm the address and handoff plan.
No published guarantee
We do not publish a Pearson, Billy Bishop or cruise gangway delivery promise. Confirm transport, battery and handoff requirements before choosing the scooter.
What usually goes with a mobility scooter rental?
A scooter handles longer powered routes. A folding chair, transport chair, rollator or power wheelchair may suit a different part of the same recovery or visit.
Folding wheelchair rental
For self-propelling or caregiver pushing when the trip does not need powered mobility.
Transport wheelchair rental
A lighter folding chair when another person will always be there to push.
Rollator rental
For someone who can walk part of the route and needs support plus a seat for breaks.
Power wheelchair rental
For powered mobility controlled by a joystick when scooter seating or steering is not suitable.
Does ADP cover this rental, and can it help if you buy later?
ADP does not fund this rental. ADP can fund up to 75 percent of the approved price of an approved scooter that is purchased after an authorizer assessment.
Start with an OT or PT authorizer
Do not buy first. The authorizer, registered vendor and ADP complete the application for a purchased approved scooter. Income is not part of ADP eligibility.
Rent while the purchase path moves
A private rental can bridge the wait for an assessment or approved purchase, but ADP will not reimburse the rental. Westin rental dollars paid in the first 30 days can apply to a new equivalent purchase that is not on sale.
Ask before renting after discharge
Ontario Health atHome may arrange some equipment through contracted suppliers after an assessment, but its public equipment page does not promise a scooter. Call 310-2222 and ask.
Read the purchase process on our Assistive Devices Program page, compare other programs on the funding overview, and review our rental program terms.
