Description
The Golden Austin lift chair is Golden Technologies' Medium 3-position recliner, model UC342, with 2-motor heat and vibrating massage standard. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Golden's Canada sheet prints one size: Medium.
Golden's Canada sheet rates that Medium at 400 lb (181 kg). The back and footrest travel together on a two-button hand control. This is not MaxiComfort and it is not Twilight.
Who this lift chair is for
This lift chair is for someone who wants a Medium 3-position Golden with heat and massage already on the chair, in Maple or Graphite, without a size ladder and without AutoDrive. Families usually call us when a Comforter would need heat added, and Medium is the right length.
It is not the Comforter ladder. That is the Golden Comforter PR-531. It is not the Aurora biscuit-back 3-position. That is the Golden Aurora PL-480. If you want Pride's 3-position value chair, see the Pride Essential LC-106.
- 3-position Medium with heat and massage standard
- 400 lb (181 kg) on the Canada sheet
- 17 inches (43 cm) from the wall
3-position recline and standard heat
Comfort Zone 1 is Golden's lower-body motion on a two-button hand control. The back and footrest travel together. The 2-motor heat and vibrating massage system is standard. USB is not on the Canada sheet. Golden's Canada sheet lists a battery backup. UltraComfort's US Austin card says battery backup is not available. We confirm the Canada-invoiced build when you order.
Size and wall space
Golden's Canada sizing chart prints Medium as 5'4" to 5'10" (163 to 178 cm). The current Canada Austin sheet does not add Small or Large. We confirm the fit in the showroom.
UC342 Medium: 21 inches (53 cm) between the arms, seat 21 inches (53 cm) deep, floor to seat 19 inches (48 cm), back 28 inches (71 cm), arm 6 inches (15 cm), overall 32 inches (81 cm) wide and 41 inches (104 cm) tall, seated depth 35.5 inches (90 cm), 17 inches (43 cm) from the wall, 42 inches (107 cm) of reclined extension.
Golden Austin specifications
These figures are for Golden UC342 as printed on Golden's current Canada Austin sell sheet. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Power lumbar no. Footrest extension no. USB no. Designed in Old Forge, Pennsylvania. Assembled in China. Electrical parts 3 years. No year-four-through-seven pro-rated electrical schedule on this sheet. Mechanical labour and electrical labour 1 year. Fabric and foam 1 year. Canada fabrics are Maple and Graphite. Ask us to confirm the photos on the order.
Colour and size options
Ask us for Medium in Maple or Graphite. Golden's Canada Austin card does not list a size ladder beyond Medium. Crossover fabrics are not on that card.
3-position, MaxiComfort, or 4-zone
Golden's Canada lineup is a comfort-zone ladder, not a Pride VivaLift clone. A 1-zone chair is a 3-position lift chair: the back and footrest travel together on a two-button hand control. Our 1-zone Goldens are the Comforter PR-531, the Comforter Wide, the Elara, the Aurora, and the Austin.
A 2-zone chair adds MaxiComfort so the back and footrest travel on their own. That is the Cloud PR-510, the MaxiComforter PR-535, and the Relaxer.
A 4-zone chair keeps MaxiComfort and adds a powered headrest and powered lumbar: the Cloud Plus, the EZ Sleeper Slim, the Dione, and the Rhea. Twilight is a fifth zone on chairs we already sell, starting with the Golden PR515 Cloud with Twilight. None of the chairs on this Golden Classic set is a Twilight chair.
Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased lift chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Lift chairs are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden's Canada Austin sheet warrants the chair frame, lift frame, recline frame, and recline mechanism to the original purchaser for life. Electrical parts are covered for three years. The sheet does not add the year-four-through-seven pro-rated electrical schedule used on most other Golden chairs. Mechanical labour and electrical labour are each subsidized for one year. Fabric and foam are covered for one year. The warranty is residential only. It does not cover misuse, non-residential use, or exceeding the 400 lb (181 kg) rating. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?
The Golden Austin lift chair is sold as Medium UC342 only on Golden's current Canada sheet. The seat is 21 inches (53 cm) between the arms and 21 inches (53 cm) deep. Seat-to-floor is 19 inches (48 cm). Golden's Medium height band is 5'4" to 5'10" (163 to 178 cm). We confirm the fit in the showroom.
How Far From the Wall Does a Lift Chair Need to Be?
The Golden Austin lift chair needs 17 inches (43 cm) from the wall in Medium when it is fully reclined. Plan 42 inches (107 cm) in front from the back of the seat to the end of the open footrest.
What Is the Difference Between a 3 Position and an Infinite Position Lift Chair?
A 3-position lift chair moves the back and footrest together through sit, TV, and recline. An infinite-position Golden MaxiComfort chair moves them on their own, so the person can sit up with the legs out or lie flatter. Golden's 4-zone chairs add a powered headrest and lumbar on top of that MaxiComfort motion. Twilight, sold on other Golden pages, adds a fifth tilt zone.
What Is the Weight Capacity of the Austin?
The Golden Austin lift chair is rated 400 lb (181 kg) on Golden's Canada sheet. Stay at or under that rating. Some dealer cards reprint 375 lb. We sell to the Canada sheet.
What Fabrics Can I Choose?
The Golden Austin lift chair is sold in Maple and Graphite on Golden's Canada card. Those are the microsuede pair we quote unless Golden confirms another Canada fabric.
Does the Austin Include Heat and Massage?
The Golden Austin lift chair includes a 2-motor heat and vibrating massage system as standard on Golden's Canada sheet. HeatWave is not on this chair.
Does It Have USB?
The Golden Austin lift chair does not include a USB port on Golden's Canada sheet. If you need USB on a 3-position Golden, see the Comforter or the Aurora.
Can Funding Help With a Lift Chair in Ontario?
Funding support for a lift chair in Ontario depends on the person's situation and assessment. Westin Healthcare works with funding programs every week. Start on our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
What Is the Warranty on the Golden Austin?
The Golden Austin lift chair carries lifetime coverage on the chair frame, lift frame, recline frame, and recline mechanism for the original purchaser, three years on electrical parts, and one year of subsidized mechanical and electrical labour. The Canada sheet does not add the year-four-through-seven pro-rated electrical schedule used on most other Golden chairs. Fabric and foam are covered for one year. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
