Fit, ceiling height, and the SuperBar

HealthCraft prints a 1.50 in (38 mm) pole and a 16 in (406 mm) SuperBar. The SuperBar is typically installed 24-38 in (610-965 mm) from the floor. HealthCraft's height tip: just above the belt line when standing, or near the base of the ribcage when seated.

The stored 20 in figure on older titles is the ceiling plate, 20 in (508 mm), not the SuperBar. The base plate is 5 in (127 mm). Finish is anti-microbial white powder coat. Grip is latex-free PVC foam. HealthCraft prints a limited lifetime warranty and says the product is not intended for outdoor use.

HealthCraft's load rating is based on the user's weight. HealthCraft also prints that the SuperPole with SuperBar is not intended to support an entire full body weight, and that a typical sit-to-stand pull is a fraction of body weight. Stay at or under the 450 lb (204 kg) rating on SPB-HD.

Installation, as HealthCraft prints it

The SuperPole is a jackscrew tension mount between a structurally sound floor and ceiling. HealthCraft's current SuperPole FAQ: the ceiling top plate must extend across at least one ceiling beam, and the SuperPole bariatric ceiling top plate must be secured to the ceiling. Check the tension monthly.

HealthCraft SuperPole 101: place the pole under one joist, or between two joists with the plate under both. Do not install under a radiant ceiling. Do not install if you do not know what is above the ceiling. Do not install on a sloped floor or on loose rugs. An angled ceiling needs HealthCraft's Angled Ceiling Plate, which is screwed to a joist. Follow the HealthCraft instruction sheet in the carton. We follow that sheet when we install the pole.

HealthCraft's Uni-Fit Extender raises a standard SuperPole from 93-99 in to 100-120 in (2540-3048 mm). HealthCraft prints that Uni-Fit cannot be used with SuperPole HD. For a 450 lb user and a ceiling over 99 in, HealthCraft's next product is a floor-mounted Advantage Rail or Advantage Pole, not a stretched bariatric SuperPole.

SPB-HD is the 450 lb SuperPole with SuperBar. If you need the 300 lb SuperPole with SuperBar (SPB-S), or a standard pole with Uni-Fit for 8-10 ft ceilings, use HealthCraft SuperPole with SuperBar.

SuperPole, SuperBar, or Advantage Rail

This page is SuperPole plus SuperBar at 450 lb. The HealthCraft SuperPole bariatric is the same tension pole without the SuperBar. You can add a SuperBar later with HealthCraft's SuperBar Add-On Kit (the pole has to come down to fit it). The HealthCraft Advantage Rail is the floor-mounted version of this idea when the ceiling will not take a SuperPole. A wall grab bar, such as the HealthCraft Easy Mount knurled, fastens to a stud and is not a floor to ceiling grab pole.
