Description
The Invacare Reliant 450 RPL450-1 is Invacare's battery-powered floor lift with a manual low base. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Invacare's 2022 user manual prints a 450 lb weight limitation for this SKU.
The boom is electric. The legs are opened with the padded shifter handle. Two 24-volt batteries ship with the lift: one on the mast and one at the charging station. Invacare includes a manual emergency lower and an anti-entrapment feature that stops lowering if the boom meets resistance.
Who it is for
This lift is for a person who needs a full-body transfer inside Invacare's 450 lb limit, when the therapist has named a Reliant sling and a 4.5 inch under-bed clearance. If you want Drive's 450 lb home-care lift, see the Drive 13240. If you need a foldable lift for a small room, see the Hoyer Advance or the Span America F400. If the person can bear some weight, start with a sit-to-stand lift instead of a floor lift.
- Home care transfers inside 450 lb
- Beds and chairs with at least 4.5 inches of clearance
- Caregivers who want a removable battery and a wall charging station
How it lifts
The RPL450-1 is an electric floor lift, not a transport device. The caregiver opens the low base, attaches an Invacare-approved sling to the 360-degree padded swivel bar, and uses the hand pendant to raise the boom. Invacare's height range at the sling hook-up is 24 inches to 74 inches, so floor pickups and bed transfers are both in the printed range.
Invacare recommends two people for handling and assembly of the boxed lift. That is an assembly instruction, not a promise that one person can always run a transfer. Invacare does not print a one-caregiver transfer claim on this model. We will plan the first transfer with you.
Invacare Reliant 450 specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU RPL450-1. The specification tab holds the stored values. Invacare's 2022 manual prints a 450 lb capacity, sling-hook height 24 inches to 74 inches, base 41.0 inches open and 26.5 inches closed, 4.5 inch base height, 48.0 inch base length, 3.0 inch front and 5.0 inch rear casters, 106 lb out of carton, and 133 lb in carton. The charger is 100-240 V AC. Invacare prints about 100 to 200 cycles per charge, depending on load and stroke.
Warranty for the original purchaser is 3 years on the lift and 1 year on slings and hydraulic pump / electric components. Invacare prints an expected service life of eight years with daily use per the manual.
Slings and spreader bar
Invacare fits a 360-degree padded swivel bar. The user manual says to use an Invacare-approved sling, and that slings from other makers are not to be used as part of the Invacare lift system. Printed Reliant 450 sling families include full-body R110 to R117, divided-leg R100 to R102, and toileting R121. Heavy-duty R140 / R141 are 600 lb slings for the Reliant 600, not this 450 lb lift. The sling is sold separately. Start with our full-body slings, divided-leg slings, or toileting slings, and we will confirm the Invacare model.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Floor patient lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?
Yes. If you only need the lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a floor lift before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on patient lift rentals in Brampton.
Rental packages include an electric floor lift and a sling. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice. The shortest rental term on the rentals page is one week.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Invacare manufacturer warranty
Invacare's 2022 Reliant manual covers the original purchaser with 3 years on the lift and 1 year on slings and hydraulic pump / electric components. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
