Description
The Golden Aurora lift chair is Golden Technologies' 3-position biscuit-back recliner, model PL480, with a two-button hand control and USB. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Three sizes cover the Aurora: Small, Medium, and Large.
Golden's Canada sheet rates all three sizes 400 lb (181 kg). The back and footrest travel together. Golden's Canada card also prints Full, Mid, and Straight lift options. This is not MaxiComfort and it is not Twilight.
Who this lift chair is for
This lift chair is for someone who wants a simple 3-position Golden in three sizes, with a biscuit back and a closer wall number, without heat and without AutoDrive. Families usually call us when the Comforter chenille look is more chair than they want and they like Anchor or Sandstorm.
It is not the Comforter pocket-coil ladder. That is the Golden Comforter PR-531. It is not the Austin with heat standard. That is the Golden Austin UC-342. If you want infinite positioning, start with the Golden Relaxer or the Golden Cloud PR-510.
- 3-position biscuit back in Small, Medium, and Large
- 400 lb (181 kg) on every size
- 15 to 19 inches (38 to 48 cm) from the wall
3-position recline and lift options
Comfort Zone 1 is Golden's lower-body motion on a two-button hand control. The back and footrest travel together. USB charging is on that hand control. Golden's Canada card offers Full, Mid, and Straight lift so the rise can be set for the transfer. Heat and massage are not on the Canada Aurora sheet. SmartTek is standard.
Size and wall space
Golden's Canada sizing chart prints Small as 5' to 5'3" (152 to 160 cm), Medium as 5'4" to 5'10" (163 to 178 cm), and Large as 5'11" to 6'2" (180 to 188 cm). We confirm the fit in the showroom.
Small: seat 20 by 18.5 inches (51 by 47 cm), floor 18 inches (46 cm), back 27 inches (69 cm), arm 7.5 inches (19 cm), overall 31 by 40.5 inches (79 by 103 cm), seated depth 37 inches (94 cm), wall 15 inches (38 cm), extension 41 inches (104 cm).
Medium: seat 21.5 by 20.5 inches (55 by 52 cm), floor 19 inches (48 cm), back 29 inches (74 cm), arm 6.5 inches (17 cm), overall 33 by 42.5 inches (84 by 108 cm), seated depth 38 inches (97 cm), wall 17 inches (43 cm), extension 41 inches (104 cm).
Large: seat 23.5 by 22 inches (60 by 56 cm), floor 20.5 inches (52 cm), back 31 inches (79 cm), arm 7 inches (18 cm), overall 35 by 45.5 inches (89 by 116 cm), seated depth 41.5 inches (105 cm), wall 19 inches (48 cm), extension 42 inches (107 cm).
Golden Aurora specifications
These figures are for Golden PL480 Small, Medium, and Large as printed on Golden's current Canada Aurora sell sheet. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Positioning 3, 1 zone, Twilight no, chaise yes, pocketed coil no. Biscuit back with a bracket removable back. USB yes. Battery backup yes. Heat and massage no. HeatWave no. Powered headrest no. Power lumbar no. Footrest extension no. Designed in Old Forge, Pennsylvania. Assembled in China. Electrical parts 1 year, then a pro-rated schedule through year seven. Mechanical labour and electrical labour 1 year. Fabric, foam, and pocketed coils 1 year. That electrical term is shorter than the 3-year electrical term on most other Golden chairs in this family.
Colour and size options
Ask us for Small, Medium, or Large and for Anchor or Sandstorm. Ask us which lift (Full, Mid, or Straight) to put on the order. Heat and massage is not an Aurora option on the current sheet.
3-position, MaxiComfort, or 4-zone
Golden's Canada lineup is a comfort-zone ladder, not a Pride VivaLift clone. A 1-zone chair is a 3-position lift chair: the back and footrest travel together on a two-button hand control. Our 1-zone Goldens are the Comforter PR-531, the Comforter Wide, the Elara, the Aurora, and the Austin.
A 2-zone chair adds MaxiComfort so the back and footrest travel on their own. That is the Cloud PR-510, the MaxiComforter PR-535, and the Relaxer.
A 4-zone chair keeps MaxiComfort and adds a powered headrest and powered lumbar: the Cloud Plus, the EZ Sleeper Slim, the Dione, and the Rhea. Twilight is a fifth zone on chairs we already sell, starting with the Golden PR515 Cloud with Twilight. None of the chairs on this Golden Classic set is a Twilight chair.
Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased lift chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Lift chairs are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden's Canada Aurora sheet warrants the chair frame, lift frame, recline frame, and recline mechanism to the original purchaser for life. Electrical parts are covered for one year, then a pro-rated schedule through year seven. Mechanical labour and electrical labour are each subsidized for one year. Fabric, foam, and pocketed coils are covered for one year. The warranty is residential only. It does not cover misuse, non-residential use, or exceeding the 400 lb (181 kg) rating. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?
The Golden Aurora lift chair is sold in Small, Medium, and Large. Small has a 20 inch (51 cm) seat and 15 inches (38 cm) from the wall. Medium has a 21.5 inch (55 cm) seat and 17 inches (43 cm) from the wall. Large has a 23.5 inch (60 cm) seat and 19 inches (48 cm) from the wall. All three are rated 400 lb (181 kg). We confirm the fit in the showroom.
How Far From the Wall Does a Lift Chair Need to Be?
The Golden Aurora lift chair needs 15 inches (38 cm) from the wall in Small, 17 inches (43 cm) in Medium, and 19 inches (48 cm) in Large when it is fully reclined. Small is among the closer Goldens in this family.
What Is the Difference Between a 3 Position and an Infinite Position Lift Chair?
A 3-position lift chair moves the back and footrest together through sit, TV, and recline. An infinite-position Golden MaxiComfort chair moves them on their own, so the person can sit up with the legs out or lie flatter. Golden's 4-zone chairs add a powered headrest and lumbar on top of that MaxiComfort motion. Twilight, sold on other Golden pages, adds a fifth tilt zone.
What Is the Weight Capacity of the Aurora?
The Golden Aurora lift chair is rated 400 lb (181 kg) on Golden's Canada sheet, Small, Medium, or Large. Stay at or under that rating.
What Fabrics Can I Choose?
The Golden Aurora lift chair is sold in Anchor and Sandstorm on Golden's Canada card. Those are the two standard fabrics we quote unless Golden confirms another Canada fabric.
What Lift Options Does the Aurora Have?
The Golden Aurora lift chair is offered with Full, Mid, and Straight lift on Golden's Canada card. That sets how far the chair rises for the standing transfer. We confirm the lift on the order.
Does It Have USB?
The Golden Aurora lift chair includes a USB charging port on the two-button hand control. Heat and massage are not on the Canada sheet.
Can Funding Help With a Lift Chair in Ontario?
Funding support for a lift chair in Ontario depends on the person's situation and assessment. Westin Healthcare works with funding programs every week. Start on our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
What Is the Warranty on the Golden Aurora?
The Golden Aurora lift chair carries lifetime coverage on the chair frame, lift frame, recline frame, and recline mechanism for the original purchaser. Electrical parts are covered for one year, then a prorated schedule through year seven. Mechanical labour and electrical labour are each subsidized for one year. Fabric, foam, and pocketed coils are covered for one year. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
