Description
The Golden Elara lift chair is Golden Technologies' DeLuna 3-position recliner, model PL-118, with a seamed back and USB on the hand control. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Two sizes cover the Elara: 118-MSM Medium/Small and 118-LAR Large.
Golden's Canada sheet rates both sizes 400 lb (181 kg) and prints positioning as 3 with one comfort zone. The back and footrest travel together on a two-button hand control. This is not a MaxiComfort infinite chair and it is not a Twilight chair.
Who this lift chair is for
This lift chair is for someone who wants a DeLuna seamed chair at 3-position, with a lower wall number than the 4-zone Dione, and without a powered headrest. Families usually call us when a simple two-button lift is enough and they like the Elara fabrics.
It is not the 4-zone Dione. That is the Golden Dione PL-446. If you want Golden's 3-position small-to-tall ladder, see the Golden Comforter PR-531. If you want Pride's 3-position value chair, see the Pride Essential LC-106.
- 3-position DeLuna, one comfort zone
- 400 lb (181 kg) on Medium/Small and Large
- 19 or 20 inches from the wall
3-position recline
Comfort Zone 1 is Golden's lower-body motion on a two-button hand control. The back and footrest travel together through sit, TV, and recline. There is no independent back motor and no Twilight tilt. USB charging sits on the hand control, not on an arm port.
Size and wall space
Golden's Canada sizing chart prints Small/Medium as 5'2" to 5'6" (157 to 168 cm) and Large as 5'11" to 6'2" (180 to 188 cm). We confirm the fit in the showroom against the seat numbers.
118-MSM Medium/Small: seat 21 inches (53 cm) wide and 21 inches (53 cm) deep, floor to seat 18.5 inches (47 cm), back 29 inches (74 cm), arm 7 inches (18 cm), overall 32 inches (81 cm) wide and 43 inches (109 cm) tall, 19 inches (48 cm) from the wall, 42 inches (107 cm) of reclined extension. Pocketed coil no.
118-LAR Large: seat 23 inches (58 cm) wide and 21 inches (53 cm) deep, floor to seat 19.5 inches (50 cm), back 31 inches (79 cm), arm 6 inches (15 cm), overall 34 inches (86 cm) wide and 46 inches (117 cm) tall, 20 inches (51 cm) from the wall, 42 inches (107 cm) of reclined extension. Pocketed coil yes.

Colour and size options
Ask us for Medium/Small or Large and for Antler, Lakefront, or Umber. Golden's Canada Elara card states crossover fabrics are unavailable. Sinda Umber is the wipeable urethane Golden prints with a 5-year fabric warranty on this chair.
3-position, MaxiComfort, or 4-zone
Golden's Canada lineup is a comfort-zone ladder, not a Pride VivaLift clone. A 1-zone chair is a 3-position lift chair: the back and footrest travel together on a two-button hand control. Our 1-zone Goldens are the Comforter PR-531, the Comforter Wide, the Elara, the Aurora, and the Austin.
A 2-zone chair adds MaxiComfort so the back and footrest travel on their own. That is the Cloud PR-510, the MaxiComforter PR-535, and the Relaxer.
A 4-zone chair keeps MaxiComfort and adds a powered headrest and powered lumbar: the Cloud Plus, the EZ Sleeper Slim, the Dione, and the Rhea. Twilight is a fifth zone on chairs we already sell, starting with the Golden PR515 Cloud with Twilight. None of the chairs on this Golden Classic set is a Twilight chair.
Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased lift chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Lift chairs are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden warrants the chair frame, lift frame, and recline mechanism to the original purchaser for life against breakage from defective materials or workmanship. Labour on those parts is subsidized for three years. Electrical parts (hand control, motor, transformer, control box, heating pad, massage unit) are covered for three years, then prorated in years four through seven. Electrical labour is subsidized for one year. The warranty is residential only. It does not cover misuse, non-residential use, or exceeding the printed weight capacity. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?
The Golden Elara lift chair is sold in Medium/Small and Large. Medium/Small (118-MSM) has a 21 inch (53 cm) seat, 18.5 inch (47 cm) seat-to-floor, and 19 inches (48 cm) from the wall. Large (118-LAR) has a 23 inch (58 cm) seat, 19.5 inch (50 cm) seat-to-floor, and 20 inches (51 cm) from the wall. Both are rated 400 lb (181 kg). We confirm the fit in the showroom.
How Far From the Wall Does a Lift Chair Need to Be?
The Golden Elara lift chair needs 19 inches (48 cm) from the wall on Medium/Small and 20 inches (51 cm) on Large when it is fully reclined. That is closer than the 4-zone Dione.
What Is the Difference Between a 3 Position and an Infinite Position Lift Chair?
A 3-position lift chair moves the back and footrest together through sit, TV, and recline. An infinite-position Golden MaxiComfort chair moves them on their own, so the person can sit up with the legs out or lie flatter. Golden's 4-zone chairs add a powered headrest and lumbar on top of that MaxiComfort motion. Twilight, sold on other Golden pages, adds a fifth tilt zone.
What Is the Weight Capacity of the Elara?
The Golden Elara lift chair is rated 400 lb (181 kg) on Golden's Canada sheet, Medium/Small or Large. Stay at or under that rating.
What Fabrics Can I Choose?
The Golden Elara lift chair is sold in Antler, Lakefront, and Umber. Golden's Canada card states crossover fabrics are unavailable. Umber is the Sinda urethane Golden prints as water-resistant with a 5-year fabric warranty.
Does the Elara Have a Battery Backup?
The Golden Elara lift chair includes a 9-volt battery backup on Golden's Canada sheet. USB charging sits on the hand control. SmartTek is standard.
Does the Elara Have a Power Headrest?
The Golden Elara lift chair does not have a powered headrest or power lumbar. Those zones start on Golden's 4-zone chairs such as the Dione. The Elara is a 1-zone 3-position chair.
Can Funding Help With a Lift Chair in Ontario?
Funding support for a lift chair in Ontario depends on the person's situation and assessment. Westin Healthcare works with funding programs every week. Start on our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
What Is the Warranty on the Golden Elara?
The Golden Elara lift chair carries Golden's lifetime coverage on the chair frame, lift frame, and recline mechanism for the original purchaser, three years on electrical parts, then a prorated schedule through year seven. Mechanical labour is subsidized for three years. Electrical labour is subsidized for one year. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
