Description
The NuProdx MC5000 is a stationary tub slider: a commode, a shower chair, and a tub transfer bench that stays in the bathroom. Westin Healthcare quotes it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Independent users slide across the bridge into the tub with little or no help, as Sunrise writes it.
The base MC5000 is 48 in wide, 42 lb (19 kg), rated at 300 lb (136 kg), with a 17 x 17 in seat (optional 17 x 20 in) and a 9-23 in bridge. The MC5200 is the 400 lb, 54 in, 48 lb heavy-duty. The MC5100 is the 32 in, 28 lb slider with a removable bridge. The MC5300 is a custom 30-47 in width.
Who this tub slider is for
This system is for a person who can transfer onto a bench and slide, and who wants the slider to stay set up in one bathroom. Families usually call us when a regular transfer bench feels unstable, or when they want the bridge to come out so the curtain can close.
If the person needs to roll from the bedroom, start with the MC6000. If there is a roll-in shower and no tub wall, see the MC4000. Among benches we already stock, ask us about a standard transfer bench only when a slider is more than the room needs.
- Set up once and leave it in place
- Removable bridge on the MC5000 and MC5100
- Suction-cup feet or adjustable crutch tips on the order
How the MC5000 transfer works
The chair sits over the toilet or beside the tub. The user slides across the connector bridge into the tub. The bridge comes off for privacy or for caregiver access. Seat-to-floor is 21.5-25.5 in. Under-frame is 16.5-20.5 in. We measure the tub wall and the toilet before we quote. Do not invent a one-person transfer promise beyond Sunrise's "little or no assistance" line for independent users.

Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Frequently asked questions
How Is the MC5000 Different From the MC6000?
The NuProdx MC5000 is a stationary tub slider you leave in the bathroom. The MC6000 rolls from the bedside and then slides. Choose the 5000 when the person can transfer at the bathroom and does not need a mobility chair for the rest of the house.
What Is a Tub Slider System?
The NuProdx MC5000 is a tub slider: you sit, then slide across a removable bridge over the tub wall. You do not lift over the rim once you are on the bench.
Does ADP Cover Bathroom Safety Equipment?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not fund bathroom safety equipment. Other routes may help. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
What Is the Weight Capacity of the MC5000?
The NuProdx MC5000, MC5100, and MC5300 are rated at 300 lb (136 kg). The MC5200 is rated at 400 lb (181 kg).
How Much Does the MC5000 Weigh?
The NuProdx MC5000 weighs 42 lb (19 kg). The MC5100 is 28 lb. The MC5200 is 48 lb. The MC5300 is 30-35 lb depending on width.
How High Should the Seat Be?
The NuProdx MC5000 series seat-to-floor range is 21.5-25.5 in (55-65 cm). We set the height to the toilet and the tub wall after we measure.
Will It Fit Over My Toilet?
Sunrise says NuProdx chairs fit over standard and ADA toilets. The under-frame range is 16.5-20.5 in. We still measure the bowl and the tank before we quote.
Can I Close the Shower Curtain?
The NuProdx MC5000 and MC5100 use a removable bridge so the curtain can close. Confirm that configuration on the order.
Is This a Bath Transfer Bench?
The NuProdx MC5000 is a stationary tub slider that also works as a commode and shower chair. It is more configurable than a one-piece transfer bench.
What Is the Warranty?
Nuprodx prints two years on hard parts and one year on cushions and arm pads. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
