Description
The Motion Composites Helio C2 is a Category 3 folding wheelchair in T700 carbon fibre, built to a prescription. Westin Healthcare configures it in Brampton for homes across the Greater Toronto Area. It is an ADP-eligible Category 3 device. An assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist comes first. ADP can fund 75% of the approved price for eligible clients. Ontario Works, ODSP, and ACSD clients may be funded at 100% of that approved price. Westin and the authorizer then complete the Motion Composites Ontario order form. The chair is not a boxed, off-the-shelf cart item.
Motion Composites' current Helio C2 card lists a high-tensile T700 carbon folding frame, a 265 lb user weight (350 lb with the HD kit), seat widths 14 to 22 inches, and seat depths 14 to 20 inches. The same card lists a 16x16 transport weight of 11.7 lb without rear wheels, armrests, cushion, anti-tippers, and footrests, and a lightest functional configuration of 22 lb. Treat older 9.5 lb transport lines as brochure leftovers. The frame is carbon, not a mixed aluminum-and-carbon story.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who will self-propel Motion Composites' carbon folding Helio, who fits a 14 to 22 inch seat, and who needs Category 3 centre-of-gravity adjustability with a lighter finished chair than the aluminum Helios. The C2 remains Motion Composites' flagship folding carbon model. It is still folding, so it stays in Category 3 rather than moving to a rigid Category 4.
If the authorizer wants 7000-series aluminum instead, see the Helio A7. If they want the 6061 aluminum Helio, see the Helio A6.
- ADP Category 3 folding ultralight, prescription-built
- T700 carbon unibody, lifetime carbon-frame warranty in Canada
- Seat 14 to 22 inches wide, 14 to 20 inches deep, 265 lb rating (350 lb HD)
Design and build
The C2 is a folding carbon unibody with a symmetrical moulded carbon cross brace, a carbon seat rail, and the Ultrarigid Folding System. A forged vertical axle plate sets rear-wheel position and centre of gravity from 1 to 4 inches. Evolve caster housings sit in the frame. An anti-flutter screw settles the casters. Footrest anchors are inset with a friction plate so the hangers do not chew the carbon.
Armrests, hanger angle (60, 70, 80, or 90 degree), camber (0, 3, or 6 degrees), quick-release axles, anti-tippers, Newton ultralight packages, and WC-19 transit hardware are written on the Ontario order form. The form bills the carbon option as its own line on top of device code WM0000964.
- Folding T700 carbon unibody
- Carbon seat rail and moulded cross brace
- Centre-of-gravity axle plate, 1 to 4 inches
- Anti-flutter casters and inset footrest anchors
- Optional quick-release axles and anti-tippers
Helio C2 specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU WM0000964, the Ontario device code Motion Composites still prints on the June 2026 Helio C2 Ontario order form. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the current Helio C2 product page. Prefer 11.7 lb transport and T700 carbon over a leftover 9.5 lb or "aluminum and carbon" line.
Seat 14 to 22 inches wide (21 and 22 inch with the HD kit) by 14 to 20 inches deep. Front seat to floor 13 to 21.5 inches. Rear seat to floor 12.5 to 20.25 inches. Back 9 to 21 inches. Armrest height 6 to 14 inches. Camber 0, 3, or 6 degrees. Centre of gravity 1 to 4 inches. Overall width 20.75 to 33.5 inches. User weight 265 lb, or 350 lb with the HD kit.
Canada warranty, first user: limited lifetime on the carbon fibre frame, cross-brace, backcanes, sideguards, and footplates. One year on Motion Composites-made components. Thirty days on listed wear items. The Ontario form also prints a free growth kit in the first five years (carbon crossbraces, links, seat sling, back upholstery, footplates).
Colour, seat width, and seat depth
Frame colour, seat width, and seat depth are written on the Helio C2 Ontario order form with Westin and the ADP authorizer. They are prescription choices. The chair is T700 carbon. Back height is an order-form measurement from 9 to 21 inches.
- Color: the Motion Composites frame finish on the order (Helio palette; high-gloss carbon is a finish on a carbon frame, not a twentieth paint)
- Seat Width: 14 to 22 inches in 1 inch steps (21 and 22 inch with HD)
- Seat Depth: 14 to 20 inches in 1 inch steps
Do not buy this chair before ADP approval if you need the program to pay its share.
ADP funding for a Category 3 wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers this wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area after it is built to the approved order. We bring it in, check the fold and the wheel locks, and show you the setup the therapist specified before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Helio folding frame first. For a scheduled delivery, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; a purchased custom wheelchair is delivered on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a shipping quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace. ADP does not pay for repairs.
Motion Composites manufacturer warranty
For the original purchaser of a Helio C2 in Canada: limited lifetime on the carbon fibre frame, cross-brace, backcanes, sideguards, and footplates; 1 year on Motion Composites-made components; 30 days on listed wear items. Paint and normal wear are outside the lifetime term. The warranty is not transferable. The Ontario order form adds a growth kit in the first five years. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What does Category 3 mean on this chair?
Ontario dealers and authorizers treat Category 3 as a lightweight, centre-of-gravity-adjustable wheelchair with quick-release axles, anti-tippers, removable armrests, and specified footrests. The C2 folds, so it stays in that class even though the lightest functional 16x16 weight on the current card is 22 lb. Category 4 in the same summaries is a rigid frame.
Who may qualify for ADP funding?
Ontario residents with a valid health card whose disability needs a mobility device for 6 months or longer, after an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist. We cannot promise that a specific person will be approved. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before any order is placed.
How does the 75 / 25 split work?
For an eligible client, the ADP-registered vendor bills ADP 75% of the approved price for the device. The client pays the remaining 25%, plus any extras ADP does not cover. People on Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD can be covered at 100% of that approved price. The carbon option on the Ontario form is its own billed line.
What is the assessment process?
An ADP-registered OT or PT examines the person, confirms the need, and helps complete the mobility-devices application. Westin finishes the Helio C2 Ontario order form with that authorizer and submits it. A chair bought before approval is not reimbursed.
How long does ADP take?
Ontario publishes a target of reviewing the application within 8 weeks of receiving it. Build time starts after the configuration is approved. Ask us for a current production estimate once the order form is locked.
Can I try a Helio C2 before we submit?
We can often show a Helio folding frame at a Brampton or Toronto store. A floor chair is not the finished carbon prescription. Ask us what is on the floor this week.
How should the seat width be chosen?
The authorizer measures seated hip width and writes 14 to 22 inches on the order. Depth is 14 to 20 inches. Back height is 9 to 21 inches. Do not guess from a clothing size.
How much does the C2 weigh?
Motion Composites' current product page lists 11.7 lb for a 16x16 transport weight without rear wheels and hangers, and 22 lb for the lightest functional 16x16. Older brochures printed 9.5 lb for a similar stripped definition. We use the current product page.
Who pushes the Helio C2?
The person in the chair, using the handrims. A companion can also push from the back. Engage both wheel locks before sitting or standing.
What is the warranty?
Limited lifetime on the named carbon parts, one year on Motion Composites-made components, 30 days on listed wear items, original purchaser in Canada, plus the five-year growth kit printed on the Ontario form. Westin processes the claim.
What happens if ADP declines the application?
Ontario sends a letter with the reason and how to follow up, including an appeal. We can look at the letter with you or point you to other routes on the funding page.
Is the Helio C2 still a current model?
Yes. Motion Composites still publishes the C2 product card and a June 2026 Ontario order form. VELOCE and APEX are other current models, not a silent replacement for the C2.
