Savaria prints two codes. M920375 is the telescopic arm. M920683 is the rigid, non-telescopic arm. Both share the same hook. The hook stays on the lift strap. The arm is a separate piece that comes off before a transfer, so it cannot swing into anyone during the lift. This is ceiling-lift hardware. It is not a grabber for picking things up off the floor.

This reacher is for a home, group home, or care room that already has, or is planning, a Savaria portable ceiling lift and a trolley in the rail. Caregivers use it when they carry the motor from room to room and need a safe way to hang that empty motor back on the trolley without standing on a chair. The installed system is always limited by the lowest rating among the hook, the motor, the trolley, the track, and the sling.

Which lifts and tracks this fits
Fit is the star fact on this page. Savaria's owner's manual (001091-EN) says the arm extension is designed for a ceiling lift with a safe working load of 200 kg (440 lb), that it must be used only to hook the unloaded motor onto the trolley, and that it is used with a Savaria ceiling track. If the rail is not Savaria, a competent person must assess fit, function, and safety before anyone orders this hook for that run.
Savaria names the trolleys that take this hook: standard Savaria-track trolley M920109, swivel Savaria-track trolley M920745, and Handicare-track trolley 360655. The trolley, the motor, and the rail are separate quote lines. We will match them before we send a reacher out.
- Savaria Monarch / M-Series Portable. This is the current portable we publish. Live page: Savaria Monarch portable lift. The 440 lb motor (M929001) matches the 200 kg design load on this hook. The 286 lb sibling sits under that load. Savaria's portable manual lists these arm codes as accessories of that motor.
- Handicare AP300. Live page: Handicare AP300 portable ceiling lift. Handicare has discontinued it in favour of the Monarch. The 300 lb motor is under 440 lb. Savaria names a Handicare-track trolley, not this motor, so ask us to confirm the trolley on leftover AP300 stock before we add a reacher.
- A Handicare P-440 we still hold in the catalogue has no live product page. Same rule: confirm the trolley first.
This hook does not hang a fixed motor. A Handicare C450, a Handicare A450, a Handicare C625, or a Savaria M-Series fixed cabin stays in the rail and does not use this reacher. The Handicare FST-300 is a freestanding gantry on the same Ceiling Lift Tracks shelf. It is a Handicare rail, so it needs the other-track assessment Savaria prints. Ask us before you pair this reacher with that frame.
What you get and how it hooks the motor
Each order is one hook plus the arm style you pick. Savaria's manual has you take the carabiner off the strap loop, seat that loop on the hook, extend the telescopic arm (or take the rigid arm), lock the length, and use the arm to place the hook on the trolley. Then you take the arm off the hook. After the transfer you lower the motor, hold the transport handle so the strap goes slack, and use the arm to unhook.
Do not try to lift the weight of the motor with the arm. The arm is a reacher, not a crane. Savaria writes that raising the lift with the arm can let the motor fall. Keep the arm clean and dry. Wipe the hook and arm with a damp cloth and warm water, or with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipes. Do not use phenol, chlorine, or solvents.
Savaria Extendable Reacher specifications
These figures are for the Savaria Ceiling Lift Arm Extension. They come from Savaria's live Extendable Reacher card and owner's manual 001091-EN, Rev. 007 (16 November 2023). They are not the Monarch motor sheet and not a grabber reacher sheet.
Savaria lists a hook weight of 0.35 kg (12 oz) and an arm weight of 0.14 kg (5 oz); a hook safe working load of 200 kg (440 lb) plus the ceiling-lift weight; a hook height of 9 cm (3 1/2 in) contact surface to contact surface; a telescopic arm of 31-94 cm (12 1/2-37 in) on M920375; a rigid arm of 96 cm (38 in) on M920683; a 10-year product life; and nameplate marks for EU MDR 2017/745, CE, and RoHS. The hook is one part on both codes.
Do not read the Monarch motor 3-year warranty onto this part. The arm-extension IFU does not print a warranty year count.
Arm style options
Use Arm style to pick the pole. The default is Telescopic (M920375). Choose Rigid, non-telescopic (M920683) when you want a fixed 96 cm reach. There is no colour picker. The trolley, portable motor, carry bar, and slings are quoted with the room.

When something on the reacher needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Savaria arm extension product life
Savaria prints a 10-year product life on the Extendable Reacher card and in the owner's manual, after which the device must be replaced. The manual asks the operator to check the hook before every use and to have dealer checks done on the published schedule. The IFU does not print a separate warranty year count. Which trolleys and tracks does it fit?
Savaria names M920109 (standard Savaria-track trolley), M920745 (swivel Savaria-track trolley), and 360655 (Handicare-track trolley). The preferred rail is a Savaria ceiling track. Other rails need a competent assessment.
Telescopic or rigid: which do I need?
M920375 telescopes from 31 cm to 94 cm. M920683 is a fixed 96 cm pole. Pick telescopic when ceiling height changes from room to room. Pick rigid when you want one locked length. We will confirm the room height on your quote.
Is this a grabber for picking things up?
No. This hook hangs a portable ceiling-lift motor. A household reacher that picks up a dropped item is a different product on a different listing.
Can I leave the arm on the hook during a transfer?
No. Savaria's card and manual keep the arm separate from the hook so it cannot injure the person or the caregiver. Take the arm off once the empty motor is on the trolley. Do not try to raise the motor with the arm.
Does it fit a fixed C450 or M-Series motor?
No. Those motors stay in the rail. This reacher is only for a portable motor that you take off the trolley and hang back on.
What is the safe working load?
The hook is rated 200 kg (440 lb) plus the weight of the ceiling lift. Stay inside the 440 lb design load on the motor as well. The finished transfer still uses the lowest rating among hook, motor, trolley, track, and sling.
Does the quote include the trolley and the lift?
No. A quote on this page is the hook plus the arm style you pick. The trolley, portable motor, carry bar, and slings are planned with the room.
Can I install the hook myself?
