Description

The Leckey Everyday Activity Seat is Leckey's pediatric seating system for kids, teens, and young adults who need a slim therapy chair for everyday sitting. Westin Healthcare quotes it after a clinical assessment, then delivers and sets it up for families in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

Sunrise Medical Canada prints it for ages 1-18 across three sizes, on a Hi-Low chassis, up to 220 lb (100 kg) on Size 3. It is a free-standing activity seat, not a wheelchair cushion. The child's occupational therapist or physiotherapist measures the child. We do not give clinical advice.

Who this seat is for

This seat is for a child or young adult whose therapy team wants pelvic support in a chair that still looks like a chair at the family table. Families usually call us when Mygo is more seat than they need, or when PAL is not enough support.

  • Children and teens who need a four-point pelvic harness, a ramped seat, and a contoured back on a slim chassis
  • Homes that want one Hi-Low chair from floor play to table height
  • Young adults in the Size 3 band, to 220 lb, who still need an activity seat rather than a wheelchair seating system

How the Everyday Activity Seat sits

Vinyl covers wipe clean. Moulded armrests, a contoured back, and a ramped cushion set the posture. The flip-up, height- and angle-adjustable footplate helps transfers. Tilt-in-space is 30 degrees supine and 10 degrees prone, matching the back-angle range.

Accessories on the Canada card include side pads, protraction pads, a chest harness, chest laterals, a pommel, sandals, and a metal footplate. The quote names the ones the therapist asked for.

Sizes and growth

  • Size 1: seat 6.3-11 in wide, 5.9-11 in deep, Hi-Low seat height 9.8-23.6 in, 66 lb (30 kg), chair with chassis 65 lb
  • Size 2: seat 10.2-15 in wide, 9-15 in deep, Hi-Low 12.6-23.6 in, 110 lb (50 kg), 75 lb
  • Size 3: seat 13.4-19.7 in wide, 13-18.9 in deep, Hi-Low 17.7-23.6 in, 220 lb (100 kg), 108 lb

Each size adjusts inside its band. When the child leaves the band, we requote the next size. That is a different seat, not a hidden extender.

Leckey Everyday Activity Seat specifications

Everyday Activity Seat, Mygo, or PAL

Stay with the Everyday Activity Seat when the need is a slim everyday chair with a Hi-Low chassis and a simple accessory list. Move to Mygo when the therapist wants more postural hardware or a ZIPPIE IRIS base. Move to PAL when the need is a wooden classroom seat for milder support.

Funding help for pediatric seating in Ontario

Funding support may be available for prescribed pediatric seating in Ontario depending on the assessment and the equipment. Talk to the child's therapy team and to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Easter Seals Ontario, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs can help with pediatric equipment. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this seat across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble the quoted size on the Hi-Low chassis, and show you the harness, tilt, and footplate before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a therapy seat first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Purchased seats are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Configured pediatric seating is not the Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods. If the seat is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Frequently asked questions

Does ADP cover the Everyday Activity Seat in Ontario?

Ontario funds positioning devices when they are required for use with a wheelchair. The Everyday Activity Seat is a free-standing Hi-Low therapy chair. Talk to the child's therapy team and call (905) 451-7743 before anyone orders.

What ages is the Leckey Everyday Activity Seat for?

Sunrise Medical Canada prints the Everyday Activity Seat for children, teens, and young adults from 1 to 18 years, in three sizes. Size 3 goes to 220 lb. The therapist's measurements pick the size.

How is this different from the Mygo Seating System?

The Everyday Activity Seat is a slimmer everyday chair with vinyl covers and a shorter accessory list. Mygo is the more postural school-age system and the one Sunrise mounts on a ZIPPIE IRIS. The therapist names which chair matches the child.

What is the weight capacity of the Everyday Activity Seat?

Size 1 is 66 lb (30 kg). Size 2 is 110 lb (50 kg). Size 3 is 220 lb (100 kg). Stay inside the figure for the quoted size.

Does the Everyday Activity Seat tilt?

Yes. Sunrise Canada prints tilt-in-space of 30 degrees supine and 10 degrees prone, and the same numbers on the back-angle row. The Hi-Low chassis also sets seat height from 9.8 in on Size 1 up to 23.6 in.

Is this a wheelchair seating system?

No. The Canada card is a therapy chair on a slim Hi-Low chassis. It is not printed as a ZIPPIE interface product. That path belongs to Mygo.

What is included with the Leckey Everyday Activity Seat?

You get the quoted size on a Hi-Low chassis, plus the accessories on the quote. There is no single stock package. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets up across Brampton and the GTA.

Does it grow with the child?

Each size has printed width, depth, back-height, and seat-height bands. When the child leaves that band, we requote the next size. Size 3 is the top of the line.

What is the warranty on the Everyday Activity Seat?

Leckey prints three years on manufactured products and components. Sunrise Canada notes provincial and funding variation. Westin Healthcare processes the claim through our service and repairs page.
