Description
The Ki Mobility Catalyst 4 and 4C are lightweight folding wheelchairs in 7000 series aluminum. Westin Healthcare configures either frame to an occupational therapist or physiotherapist prescription and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program lists Catalyst 4 and 4c together as an Adult Lightweight manual wheelchair under device code WMA2KI010. They are not the Catalyst 5 family and they are not the Catalyst 4E. This is not an off-the-shelf chair that ships the same day you click buy.
Ki's current spec table lists a 26 lb standard chair, a 16 lb transport weight with the footrest and rear wheels off, and a 250 lb standard rating (350 lb heavy duty). Seat width runs 14 to 22 inches and seat depth 14 to 20 inches. The 4C is the same family with a taller rear seat-height range. An ADP-registered therapist assessment comes first.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who needs a long-term Category 2 type folding wheelchair, who fits Ki's 250 lb standard rating (or the 350 lb heavy-duty option), and who will use the chair for six months or longer. Therapists pick 4 or 4C when they want a durable K0004 folder with Ki's offset axle plate and do not need the Catalyst 5 Universal Axle Plate.
If the therapist wants the lighter, more adjustable Catalyst 5, see the Catalyst 5 or the live Catalyst 5Vx. If they want titanium, see the Catalyst 5Ti.
- A folding Category 2 type chair built to prescription
- Ki's 4 or 4C frame, 26 lb standard weight, 250 lb rating
- Someone who can self-propel, or who may be pushed
Design and build
Catalyst 4 and 4C use the Catalyst patented frame in 7000 series aluminum with dual interlocking cross-braces. The offset axle plate sits forward of the back frame. Ki says that small change can improve push efficiency on this class of folder. Camber and hanger choices sit on the Ki form. Quick-release rear axles come off for the car.
The only published numeric difference between 4 and 4C is rear seat height: 12.5 to 19 inches on the 4, and 12.5 to 20 inches on the 4C. The therapist writes 4 or 4C on the order. Ki does not list Twist on the 4 and 4C compatibility matrix. Do not treat a leftover 300 lb line as this chair; Ki prints 250 lb standard here.
- Folding 7000 series aluminum, dual interlocking cross-braces
- Offset axle plate, forward of the back frame
- 4C taller rear seat height (12.5 to 20 inches)
- Quick-release rear axles
- 250 lb standard, 350 lb heavy duty
Ki Mobility Catalyst 4 and 4C specifications
These figures are for Catalyst 4 and 4C on Ki Mobility's current product card and the DCN0718.0 brochure, sold here under ADP code WMA2KI010. The specification tab holds the stored values. Do not mix them with Catalyst 5 (WMA3KI010) or with Catalyst 4E (WM0001928).
Standard weight 26 lbs (11.8 kg). Transport weight 16 lbs (7.3 kg) on a 16 by 16 inch frame with 5 by 1 inch poly casters and height-adjustable T-arm receivers, footrest and rear wheels removed. Seat width 14 to 22 inches. Seat depth 14 to 20 inches. Front seat height 13.5 to 21 inches. Catalyst 4 rear seat height 12.5 to 19 inches. Catalyst 4C rear seat height 12.5 to 20 inches. Weight capacity 250 lbs (113.4 kg) standard, 350 lbs (158.8 kg) heavy duty.
Warranty for the original purchaser is lifetime on the frame, cross-braces, hangers, and quick-release axles, and one year on other parts. Expected frame life is five years. Wear items sit outside that term.
Seat width and seat depth
Use Seat Width and Seat Depth with your therapist to record the prescription. Those choices do not turn 4 or 4C into a stocked cart item. Ki also builds odd-inch widths and a 22 inch seat. Ask us if the prescription falls outside the values shown. The 4 versus 4C choice is written on the Ki form, not as a storefront toggle.
Catalyst 4, 4C, or another Ki folder
Catalyst 4 and 4C are Ki's Category 2 pair. The Catalyst 5 and the live Catalyst 5Vx are Category 3 performance folders. The Catalyst 5Ti is the titanium path. Catalyst 4E is a different Canada/ADP SKU (WM0001928) and is not this page. If the therapist wants tilt, see the live Liberty or CR45.
Funding help for a wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area after the prescription is built. We bring it in, unfold it, and show you the wheel locks, the fold, and the axle and hanger setup before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Category 2 folder first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace. ADP does not pay for repairs.
Ki Mobility manufacturer warranty
Ki Mobility warrants the Catalyst frame, cross-braces, hangers, and quick-release axles for the life of the original purchaser, and all other parts for one year from first consumer purchase. Wear items are outside that term. The expected life of the frame is five years. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What Is The Difference Between Catalyst 4 And 4C?
The Ki Mobility Catalyst 4 and 4C share the same frame family. Ki prints rear seat height 12.5 to 19 inches on the 4 and 12.5 to 20 inches on the 4C. The therapist writes 4 or 4C on the Ki form.
Is This The Catalyst 4E?
No. This page is Catalyst 4 and 4C, ADP code WMA2KI010. Catalyst 4E is a different Ki SKU listed by ADP as WM0001928. It has a 13.3 lb transport weight and a 300 lb standard rating.
What Does Category 2 Mean On This Chair?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program lists Catalyst 4 and 4c as an Adult Lightweight manual wheelchair. Dealers often call that Category 2 or Type 2. It is a folding everyday chair, not a Category 3 performance folder and not a rigid Category 4.
Who Qualifies For ADP On This Chair?
You must be an Ontario resident with a valid Ontario health card and a disability that needs a mobility aid for six months or longer. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist has to assess you before anyone orders the chair.
How Does The 75 / 25 Split Work?
For eligible clients, ADP pays 75 percent of the approved price and the person pays 25 percent. People on Ontario Works, ODSP, or Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities can be covered at 100 percent of that approved price.
How Long Does ADP Take?
The ministry says it aims to review a mobility application within eight weeks of receiving it. That is ADP's stated aim, not a Westin delivery date.
What Is The Weight Capacity?
Ki lists 250 lbs as standard and 350 lbs on the heavy-duty option for Catalyst 4 and 4C. Stay at or under the rating on your order. Do not use a 300 lb Catalyst 5 figure on this chair.
Will This Chair Fold Into A Car Trunk?
The frame folds. Ki prints a 16 lb transport weight with the footrest and rear wheels off. We can show you the fold at delivery.
What Is The Warranty?
Lifetime on the frame, cross-braces, hangers, and quick-release axles for the original purchaser, and one year on other parts. Wear items are outside that term.
What Happens If ADP Declines The Application?
ADP sends a letter with the reason and how to follow up, including an appeal. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will read the letter with you. Other routes sit on the funding page.
