Description
The Solax Transformer folding scooter is an automatic-folding 4-wheel travel scooter, model S3021, built by Solax Technology. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
This is the original Transformer (S3021), not Transformer 2. Solax rates it at 300 lbs (136 kg), 6 km/h (3.7 mph), and up to 20 km (13.7 miles) per charge. The frame is 53 lbs (24 kg) without the battery pack. The pack is one 24 V / 10 Ah lithium-ion battery, about 240 watt-hours. That figure matters for airline rules. It is not a blanket "show up and fly" battery.
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who wants a folding 4-wheel for travel, car trunks, and shorter trips on dry, level ground, and who fits a 300 lb rating and a 17 inch seat. Families usually call us when a mid-size scooter will not fit in the car and they accept a 6 km/h top speed and a shorter range.
If you need neighbourhood range and a 350 lb rating, start with the Fortress 1700-DT 3-wheel or the Fortress 1700-DT 4-wheel. The Transformer is not a full-size outdoor scooter.
- Auto-folding 4-wheel for car trunks, trains, and hotels
- 300 lb (136 kg) rating, 53 lb (24 kg) frame without the pack
- Best on dry, level concrete or asphalt, as Solax states
Range, speed, and batteries
Solax prints a top speed of 6 km/h (3.7 mph) and a range of up to 20 km (13.7 miles). That range is the maker's published maximum. Hills, cold, a heavier rider, and a tired pack will shorten it.
The scooter uses one removable 24 V / 10 Ah lithium-ion battery and a 29.4 V 2 A charger. Solax says to charge 12 to 14 hours and to charge fully before the first ride. Charge with the key or rocker off. Take the pack off the charger if you store the scooter for a long stretch. The motor is 24 V, 120 W. The drive is rear-wheel.
Portability and transport
The Solax Transformer folds with the remote: hold B for two seconds to fold, A for two seconds to unfold. Keep hands and feet clear while it moves. Solax also describes a manual fold. If it was closed with the remote, open it with the remote. Folded size on the manual figure is 865 mm by 570 mm (about 34.1 by 22.4 inches). Unfolded it is 36.9 inches long and 18.1 inches wide. The frame is 53 lbs (24 kg) without the pack, so many people can roll or lift it into a car trunk. It is still a scooter, not a suitcase. Westin can deliver and show you the fold in the home.
Airline honesty: the official pack is 24 V and 10 Ah, about 240 watt-hours. IATA and FAA mobility-aid rules allow a removable lithium-ion mobility battery up to 300 Wh in the cabin when the airline is told in advance. Individual airlines can be stricter. 240 Wh is under that 300 Wh cap and over the everyday 160 Wh spare-battery cap. Call the airline with those numbers before you book. Cruise lines have their own battery rules. Ask the cruise line before you sail.
Solax Transformer S3021 specifications
These figures are for the Solax Transformer S3021 as printed in Solax Technology's instruction manual. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Weight capacity 300 lbs (136 kg). Top speed 6 km/h (3.7 mph). Range up to 20 km (13.7 miles). Turning circle 55 inches (1.4 m). Overall length 36.9 inches (0.93 m). Overall width 18.1 inches (0.45 m). Weight without battery 53 lbs (24 kg). Seat width 17 inches. Seat height from the ground 22 inches. Solid tires, 6 inch front and 7 inch rear. Motor 24 V 120 W. Charger 29.4 V 2 A. Colours red, yellow, blue, and black.
Solax's safety text limits climbing to 0 to 15 degrees and limits obstacles under 136 kg to 36 mm. The spec-table gradient row is not a clean figure, so those safety limits are the ones we print.
Color
Use Color to pick Black or Yellow. Solax also lists Red and Blue. Ask us if you want one of those two.
Folding travel scooter or full-size scooter
The Solax Transformer is a folding travel scooter: 53 lb frame, remote fold, 6 km/h, up to 20 km. A full-size scooter such as the Fortress 1700-DT 4-wheel or the Eclipse Bigfoot S846 has more range, more speed, and more weight. Choose the Transformer if the car trunk or a flight (with the airline's approval) comes first. Choose a mid-size or full-size if everyday outdoor range comes first. Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up the Solax Transformer across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, show you the remote fold, the charger, and the tiller, and we leave it ready to use.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a folding scooter first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Solax manufacturer warranty
Solax Technology's factory warranty card prints 12 months from the purchase date for the original purchaser. Lithium-ion batteries wear with charge cycles. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if a Canadian importer card with a longer split is offered on your order.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Solax Transformer airline approved?
The Solax Transformer S3021 uses a 24 V / 10 Ah lithium-ion pack, about 240 watt-hours. That sits under the common 300 Wh mobility-aid cabin cap and over the 160 Wh everyday spare-battery cap. Tell the airline before you fly. Do not treat "airline approved" as a slogan that skips that call.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Solax Transformer folding scooter can travel as a mobility aid on some flights if the airline accepts the 24 V / 10 Ah (about 240 Wh) pack in the cabin. Rules differ by carrier. Call them with those numbers. The folded scooter still has to fit the airline's mobility-aid process.
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Solax Transformer S3021 is printed at up to 20 km (13.7 miles) per charge. That is the maker's maximum. A heavier rider, hills, cold, and a tired pack will shorten it.
How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?
The Solax Transformer S3021 charger is 29.4 V and 2 A. Solax says to allow 12 to 14 hours and to charge fully before the first ride. Charge with the scooter switched off.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help fund some power scooters after an ADP-registered therapist assessment. The Solax Transformer is a folding travel scooter and does not carry an ADP device code on the Westin record. Eligibility is personal. Talk to us before you buy. The funding section above is the starting point.
Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Solax Transformer is at its best on dry, level concrete or asphalt. Solax says to protect the control panel from humidity and water, to take extra care on grass or gravel, and to avoid loose gravel and sandstone. Do not treat it as a rain scooter.
Do mobility scooters work in winter?
Solax does not print a winter capacity figure for the Transformer S3021. Lithium packs lose range in the cold. The manual wants dry, level ground. Store the scooter clean and dry. Do not plan on ice or road salt.
What is the weight limit for a mobility scooter?
The Solax Transformer S3021 is rated at 300 lbs (136 kg). Stay at or under that figure.
How wide is a mobility scooter?
The Solax Transformer S3021 is 18.1 inches (0.45 m) wide and 36.9 inches (0.93 m) long. The turning circle is 55 inches. Measure doorways, aisles, and the car trunk against those numbers and the folded 865 by 570 mm figure.
Can a mobility scooter go in a car trunk?
The Solax Transformer S3021 is designed to fold and fit in most car trunks. The frame is 53 lbs without the pack. Folded size on the manual figure is about 34.1 by 22.4 inches. Measure your trunk before you assume it fits.
Is this the Solax Transformer 2?
No. The scooter Westin sells is the Solax Transformer S3021, the original auto-folding model. Transformer 2 is a later model with its own sheet. The SKUs here are S3021-BK and S3021-Y.
