Description
The Blake Serene is a 6 inch Canadian foam hospital mattress with a 2 inch Serene foam top that does not change feel with room temperature. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it on the bed for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Widths on this page are 36, 39, 42, 48, 54, and 60 inches (SER3680 through SER6080).
Blake's current Serene page says the mattress is intended for people whose comfort matters, who have some mobility, and whose skin integrity is not the concern. It is not a Geo-Matrix gel surface. If skin care is the reason for the call, see the Blake Infusion or the G1 Single Zone. If you want a simpler 36 inch foam, see the Blake Core.
Who this mattress is for
This mattress is for a person on a hospital-style bed who wants a plush foam that stays the same in a hot or cold bedroom, and who does not need staged gel or a pump. Blake is clear that skin integrity is not the design target. The 42 to 60 inch widths suit matching bariatric decks when the clinician has not asked for a therapeutic class.
Families usually call us when memory foam feels like it hardens in winter or turns mushy in summer, or when they need a wipeable medical foam in a width the Core does not offer. Serene foam is not memory foam.
- Home care on a 36 inch hospital bed such as the Drive Delta 1000
- Wider decks at 39, 42, 48, 54, or 60 inches when the bed matches
- Users within Blake's 350 lb standard rating, or the 500 lb custom build when we order it that way
Construction and how it works
The Serene is a non-powered foam mattress. Blake's current page describes a 4 inch single-density firm foam base, firm side bolsters, and a 2 inch Serene foam topper. The cover is 4-way stretch, antimicrobial, fluid-proof, and wipeable.
Blake says Serene foam is not temperature-sensitive, so the top stays plush in extreme temperature environments. There is no gel sheet and no pump. The firm base and borders are there for in-bed mobility and transfers.

Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds or mattresses, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), hardship funding programs, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, and show you the cover and the firm borders before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a mattress first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased mattresses are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital mattresses are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the mattress is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Frequently asked questions
How is Serene foam different from memory foam?
Memory foam changes with heat. Blake says Serene foam is not temperature-sensitive, so the top stays plush in hot or cold rooms. It is still a foam mattress, not a gel mattress.
Is the Serene a pressure-injury mattress?
Blake's current page says skin integrity is not the concern. It is a comfort foam with a medical cover. If a clinician has named a pressure-injury stage, choose Infusion, a G-series surface, or a powered Blake mattress instead.
Does this mattress need a pump?
No. The Serene is non-powered.
How do I clean the cover?
Blake specifies a 4-way stretch, antimicrobial, fluid-proof, wipeable cover. Wipe it with the disinfectant your clinician allows.
What is the weight rating?
Blake's current Serene page lists 350 lbs / 160 kg standard and 500 lbs / 227 kg custom. Tell us the person's weight when you order a wider size.
What sizes can I get?
36, 39, 42, 48, 54, and 60 by 80 by 6 inches. Blake also lists a 35 inch custom that we do not stock on this page.
Is there a pump to hear at night?
No. There is no pump.
What is the warranty?
Blake's current Serene page states 5 years on the mattress and 1 year on the cover. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work.
Can funding help pay for this mattress in Ontario?
Several Ontario funding routes can help with a therapeutic support surface. Eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Can I try a Serene before I buy?
Blake invites distributors to arrange a trial. Ask us when you call.
What is included?
You get the Blake Serene mattress in the width you pick, with the 4-way stretch cover on it. The bed frame is sold separately.
