Description
The Ride Designs Custom AccuSoft Cushion is Ride's softer custom wheelchair cushion for Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Ride writes it as the accurate fit of Custom 2 with a more forgiving sitting surface.
This is a quote-only custom cushion. It can be scanned, specified from a trial Java Cushion, or in some cases made from measurements with a Custom Back.
Who this cushion is for
The Ride Custom AccuSoft Cushion fits a person whose seating therapist wants a custom shape with a softer surface than Custom 2. Ride says people with significant postural asymmetry still get a better outcome from a scanned shape. A seating therapist should confirm AccuSoft versus Custom 2. This page does not give clinical positioning advice.
- 18 by 16 inches weighs 3.55 lbs
- 250 lbs (113 kg) at 20 inches wide or less; 300 lbs (136 kg) at 21 inches or more

Order paths and covers
The Ride Custom AccuSoft Cushion can be ordered from a RideWorks scan, from a trial Java Cushion, or from measurements on the made-from-measurements path. Outer cover is spacer fabric, optional spandex and two-layer spacer, or a wipeable incontinence-proof outer. An inner incontinence-proof cover is standard. CAM wedges ship in the box.
Ride Designs Custom AccuSoft Cushion specifications
These figures are from Ride's current AccuSoft page and warranty page. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Virtually any width and depth. User weight 250 lbs (113 kg) at 20 inches wide or narrower, 300 lbs (136 kg) at 21 inches or wider. An 18 by 16 AccuSoft weighs 3.55 lbs.
Ride's warranty page groups custom cushions at 24 months from delivery and 90 days on the cover, plus the 180 day Fit and Function Guarantee. Ask us if the AccuSoft handbook that ships with your cushion prints a different cover line.
How Ride custom seating is ordered
Ride Designs sells through Ride certified providers. Westin is that dealer path in Brampton and the GTA. A seating therapist and our staff assess first. For Custom 2, Custom AccuSoft from a shape, and Custom Back from a shape, Ride captures a bead-bag shape, scans it, and sends the scan, photos, and order form through the RideWorks app. Ride keeps the scan for later growth or a remake.
Ride also prints a made-from-measurements path for some Custom Back and AccuSoft orders, and AccuSoft can be specified from a trial Java Cushion. Ride says people with significant postural asymmetry get a better outcome from a scanned shape. Java and Forward cushions, and Java and Java Decaf backs, are configured stock shapes, not scanned custom, but they are still quote-only here.
Which Ride wheelchair cushion
Stay with the Ride Custom AccuSoft Cushion if the therapist wants the softer custom surface. The Ride Custom 2 Cushion is the lighter scanned sibling. The Ride Java Cushion is the configured trial shape AccuSoft can be specified from. Pair with the Ride Custom Back.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers this wheelchair cushion across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, check it against the wheelchair, and show you the cover and any hardware before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sample first. For a scheduled in-home drop-off, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased seating is delivered on a scheduled date after the assessment and quote.
If the order is going outside the GTA, ask us for a shipping quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the seating needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Ride Designs prints a 24 month limited warranty from the date of delivery to the original purchaser on custom cushions, and 90 days on the cover. Custom products also carry Ride's 180 day Fit and Function Guarantee from ship. Weight change or surgery does not qualify. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Wheelchair Cushion Do I Need?
A seating therapist measures hip width in sitting and matches the wheelchair seat. Spex CA cards for Standard, High, and SuperHigh Contour print widths 10 to 20 inches (25 to 50 cm) and depths 10 to 22 inches (25 to 56 cm). Ride Java prints discrete widths and depths from 14 to 20 inches.
How Do I Choose Between Gel, Foam, And Air Cushions?
Spex and Ride Designs cushions in this family are foam or custom foam, not a JAY Flow fluid pad and not an air-cell cushion. A seating therapist picks the medium. If the assessment points to fluid or air, ask us about current JAY or ROHO options instead.
Does ADP Cover Wheelchair Cushions?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a wheelchair cushion or back support after an ADP-registered therapist assessment with an eligible mobility device. Eligibility depends on the person. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Do I Order This Off The Shelf?
This is a quote-only seating product. Westin configures it after a seating assessment with an occupational therapist or physiotherapist. There is no add-to-cart delivery of a custom or made-to-order seat.
How Is AccuSoft Different From Custom 2?
The Ride Custom AccuSoft Cushion is Ride's softer custom sitting surface. Custom 2 is the lighter scanned cushion Ride prints at about 1.8 lbs at 16 by 16 inches.
Can AccuSoft Be Ordered Without A Scan?
The Ride Custom AccuSoft Cushion can be specified from a trial Java Cushion or, in some cases, made from measurements. Ride still says a scanned shape is the better path when postural asymmetry is significant.
What Is The Weight Limit For The Ride AccuSoft Cushion?
The Ride Custom AccuSoft Cushion is rated at 250 lbs (113 kg) at 20 inches wide or narrower and 300 lbs (136 kg) at 21 inches or wider.
How Long Is The AccuSoft Warranty?
Ride groups custom cushions at 24 months from delivery and 90 days on the cover, plus a 180 day Fit and Function Guarantee from ship.
Can I See This Seating In Brampton?
Westin Healthcare can show Spex, Ride Designs, and Whitmyer samples in the Brampton and Toronto stores when they are on the floor, and can quote a configured product after a seating assessment. Call (905) 451-7743.
