Description
The RGK HiLite is a made to measure wheelchair in Canada with a classic 1 in titanium rigid frame, open or closed, and an adjustable or fixed centre of gravity. Westin Healthcare is an authorized Sunrise Medical dealer. An occupational therapist or physiotherapist measures the person, Westin writes the RGK order, and RGK builds that frame to the numbers. This is not a boxed chair that ships the next day.
Sunrise Canada prints the HiLite at 16.5 to 25.35 lb with a 275.5 lb user limit. Seat width and depth run 9.85 to 19.65 in. Front and rear seat-to-floor run 15 to 21.5 in. The Canada card marks transit as yes, which is unique among the everyday RGK chairs on this wave. It is not a sports chair.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who will self-propel a made-to-measure titanium rigid, wants the classic 1 in HiLite look, fits the 9.85 to 19.65 in seat band, and stays at or under 275.5 lb. Families usually call us when the therapist wants titanium with a wider size band than Octane Sub4, or when transit hardware on the order matters.
If you want the lightest titanium Sub4, see the RGK Octane Sub4. If you want aluminum instead, see the RGK Tiga Series.
- Everyday self-propel use on a 1 in titanium rigid
- Open or closed frame, chosen on the order
- Seat width and depth set after the therapist measures
How RGK measures and builds the chair
Westin meets the person with the therapist, then sends RGK the order. RGK's made-to-measure process takes more than 30 measurements, draws the frame in CAD, and has one technician build it. Sunrise prints 19 quality checks from measure to handover. Open or closed front, low-ride caster, embroidery, and colour are written on the order form.
A floor chair, if we can show one, will not match every prescribed size. Do not buy the chair before an ADP application is in motion if you need the program to pay its share.
Design and build
The HiLite uses 1 in titanium tubing and a clean frame line. Open frame is the sleeker look. Closed frame is the stronger front. Centre of gravity is adjustable or fixed. A low-ride caster fork changes height, width, and angle. Camber on the Canada card is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 5 degrees. Back height is 6 to 23.5 in with a -10 to +20 degree back angle. Upholstery embroidery is an option on the Canada card.
Rear wheels come off for the car. The frame does not fold. Transit is printed as yes on the Canada card. The owner's manual still prefers a transfer into the vehicle seat when that is practical.
RGK HiLite specifications
These figures are for model HILT on Sunrise Medical's Canadian card. The specification tab holds the stored values. Do not mix them with Octane Sub4 or Tiga numbers.

HiLite or another made to measure wheelchair
The HiLite is RGK's classic titanium everyday rigid with the widest seat band in this titanium group. The Octane Sub4 is the lighter Sub4 titanium frame with a narrower 9.8 to 17.3 in seat. The Tiga Series is the aluminum everyday line. A current Sunrise rigid already on the ADP Type 4 shelf is the Quickie GP.
Funding help for a wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this made-to-measure wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, confirm the prescribed fit, and show you the wheel locks and the quick-release rear wheels before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather talk through the measurement first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; a purchased custom wheelchair is delivered on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Sunrise Medical manufacturer warranty
RGK's everyday owner's manual family prints 5 years on the frame and cross-braces and 12 months on other Sunrise parts for the original purchaser. Tires, tubes, and pads sit outside that term. Sunrise Canada says the term can also vary by province and funding rules. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Does Made To Measure Mean On The HiLite?
A made to measure wheelchair in Canada is built after the therapist and Westin write the person's measurements on the RGK order. RGK takes more than 30 measurements and builds that 1 in titanium HiLite. There is no boxed size list.
How Light Is The HiLite?
Sunrise Canada prints the RGK HiLite at 16.5 to 25.35 lb, depending on the prescribed build. Average shipping weight is 37.5 lb. Ask us for the expected weight on the order we write.
What Is The Weight Capacity?
The RGK HiLite is rated at 275.5 lb. Stay at or under that rating.
Is The HiLite Transit Approved?
Sunrise Canada's HiLite spec table prints transit as yes. The owner's manual still prefers a transfer into the vehicle seat when that is practical. Ask us what hardware the order includes before anyone treats the chair as a vehicle seat.
Does The HiLite Fold?
The RGK HiLite frame does not fold. Rear wheels come off for the car. If you need a fold, see the Octane FX.
How Should The Seat Width Be Chosen?
The therapist measures seated hip width. Sunrise offers 9.85 to 19.65 in on the HiLite. That is a wider band than the Octane Sub4. Do not guess a width from a photo.
Open Frame Or Closed Frame?
The RGK HiLite is offered as an open frame or a closed frame. Open is the cleaner look. Closed adds a front bar. The therapist writes that choice on the order.
Who Qualifies For ADP On This Chair?
Ontario residents with a valid health card whose disability needs a mobility device for six months or longer, after an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assesses them. We cannot promise that a specific person will qualify. A chair bought before those steps is not reimbursed.
How Does The 75 / 25 Split Work?
ADP can fund 75% of the approved price for eligible clients. The person pays the remaining 25% unless they are on Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD, in which case ADP can cover 100% of that approved price. Extra items that are not on the approved list are paid separately.
Can I Try A HiLite Before We Order?
Come into a Brampton or Toronto store and ask what we can show. A floor chair will not match every prescribed size. We will tell you honestly what is on the floor.
What Is The Warranty?
RGK's everyday owner's manual family prints 5 years on the frame and cross-braces and 12 months on other parts. Sunrise Canada says the term can vary by province. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
What If ADP Declines The Application?
ADP sends a letter with the reason and how to follow up, including an appeal. The chair should not have been bought yet. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will read the letter with you. Other routes sit on the funding page.
