Description
The Resten Hi-Lo is Resten's elevating adjustable homecare bed. Westin Healthcare quotes it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. A wireless remote and a mobile app move the head section, the foot section, the lumbar section, and the height of the bed.
Resten is a Canadian sleep line from 5 Minds Mobility in Ajax, Ontario. The Hi-Lo is the height-adjustable model in that line. Resten's current product page lists Twin XL at 39 inches by 80 inches and Queen at 60 inches by 80 inches, with a published height range of 16 inches to 30 inches. Use Request a Quote, or call (905) 451-7743, and we will confirm the size, optional rails, and mattress before we book setup.
Who this bed is for
This bed is for a person who wants a furniture-look adjustable base at home and still needs the whole sleep surface to rise and lower. The hi-low motor sets a lower height for getting in, and a higher height so a caregiver can change linen without working at floor level.
Families usually call us when a regular bed has become hard to get in and out of, when someone wants Twin XL or Queen instead of a 36 inch hospital deck, or when they want massage, Zero G, and USB on the same frame that lifts. If you want a Resten base that does not change height, ask us about the Resten Select. If you want a residential hi-low with a higher published lift rating, see the Harmony Hi-Low bed. If you want a hospital-style 36 inch deck instead of this lifestyle frame, see the Harmony 8199 home care bed.
- Home care, where the bed has to look and work in a bedroom and still raise and lower
- Anyone who wants electric head, foot, lumbar, and height from a wireless remote or an app
- Two people who want two Twin XL frames side by side so each side moves on its own
What you get
The Resten Hi-Lo is a full-electric elevating base. Resten lists four quiet motors: head, foot, lumbar, and hi-low. The wireless remote and the mobile app handle everyday positioning. Resten also lists programmable massage, LED underbed lighting, USB charging, memory positions, a Zero G function that raises the head and the feet together, a mattress retainer, and individualized controls.
Resten's Twin XL and Queen tiles include the caster upgrade. The current sell sheet prints 5 inch casters as standard and says 2 inch fixed legs are provided when you want the frame lower. Side rails are sold separately. A mattress is not in the carton. Headboard brackets are listed as available on the sell sheet; ask us to confirm they ship with your order.
- Full-electric elevating base with four motors (head, foot, lumbar, hi-low)
- Wireless remote and mobile app
- Zero G preset and memory positions
- Programmable massage
- LED underbed lighting
- USB charging
- Mattress retainer
- 5 inch casters (Resten caster upgrade)
- 2 inch fixed legs provided to lower the frame when needed
This is not a 36 inch hospital bed and it is not a bariatric hospital deck. If you need a premium homecare look with a different feature set, see the Sophia 2 premium homecare bed.
Resten Hi-Lo specifications
These figures are for the Resten Hi-Lo Westin quotes. The specification tab holds the stored values. Resten's current Hi-Lo page lists a height range of 16 inches to 30 inches. Twin XL is 39 inches by 80 inches. Queen is 60 inches by 80 inches. Two Twin XL frames make a King. Resten prints a maximum client weight of up to 410 lb; confirm the figure for the size you need when you request a quote.
Warranty on Resten's current Hi-Lo page is 3 years on electric parts (control box, remote, power supply, motor, LED lighting, and USB) and 15 years on the bed frame, including the plywood panel and steel frame. We confirm the warranty that ships with your order on the quote.
Size
Use Size to tell us which frame to quote. The names on the selector are the names we use here.
- TWIN XL (38" X 80")
- QUEEN (59" x 80")
Resten's current product page sizes those decks as Twin XL 39 inches by 80 inches and Queen 60 inches by 80 inches. When you request a quote we will match the carton to the size you want. Two Twin XL frames can sit together as a King so each person keeps their own remote. That pairing is not a third choice on Size; ask for it on the quote.
Side rails are optional and are not on Size. Resten sells adjustable rails separately. A mattress is quoted to match the width you pick. Use a mattress made for an adjustable base in that size. If you are not sure which surface you need, call us or browse medical mattresses in Brampton.
Use only the rails Resten lists for this frame, and keep the mattress centred so the person cannot slip into a gap. Rails are a reminder to help keep someone from rolling out. They are not a restraint and they are not a handle for getting in or out of bed.
Funding help for a hospital bed in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. Depending on the person, other programs may help, including ODSP, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, hardship funding programs, and community support programs.
Westin Healthcare works with these funding programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page and we will check which programs fit your situation before any paperwork starts. The funding page lists the programs we work with.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this bed across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a bed first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased beds are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital beds are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the bed is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a hospital bed before I buy?
Yes. If you only need the bed for a recovery, or you want to live with a full-electric bed before you buy, rent first. Hospital bed rentals start from $150 a month. See current packages and rates on hospital bed rentals in Brampton.
Rental packages include side rails and a therapeutic medical mattress. For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice. The shortest rental term is one month.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the bed needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Resten manufacturer warranty
Resten's current Hi-Lo page states 3 years on electric parts, including the control box, remote, power supply, motor, LED lighting, and USB, and 15 years on the bed frame, including the plywood panel and steel frame. We handle the warranty claim with you. We confirm the exact term that ships with your order when you request a quote. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Does OHIP cover hospital beds?
No. Hospital beds in Ontario are not covered by OHIP. Depending on the person, March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, or a community support program may still help. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check which path fits before anyone starts paperwork.
Does ADP cover hospital beds in Ontario?
No. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program does not cover hospital beds. OHIP does not cover them either. The funding page lists the programs Westin Healthcare works with, including March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs Canada, and community support programs.
What is the difference between a full-electric and a semi-electric hospital bed?
The Resten Hi-Lo is full electric. The wireless remote and the app adjust the head, the foot, the lumbar section, and the height of the bed. A semi-electric bed usually moves the head and foot with a motor and leaves height to a crank.
How is the Resten Hi-Lo different from the Resten Select?
The Hi-Lo is the elevating model: four motors including hi-low, a published height range of 16 inches to 30 inches, and Twin XL or Queen. The Resten Select is the fixed-height sibling, with 12 inch legs and a wider size set (Twin XL, Double, Queen, and King). Pick the Hi-Lo when you need the whole bed to rise and lower. Ask us about Select when height change is not the job.
What mattress fits the Resten Hi-Lo?
Match the mattress to the width you pick under Size. Resten sizes Twin XL at 39 inches by 80 inches and Queen at 60 inches by 80 inches. A mattress made for an adjustable base in that size is the right starting point. Resten lists a Bliss mattress as a pairing on dealer cards. Confirm the surface with us on the quote. Ask your therapist before you pick an alternating-pressure system.
Can I rent a hospital bed before buying?
Yes. Westin Healthcare rents full-electric hospital beds with side rails and a therapeutic mattress. See current packages and rates on the hospital bed rentals page. The Resten Hi-Lo itself is quoted to order. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program so we can apply the program rules.
How fast can a hospital bed be delivered in the GTA?
Westin's team delivers and sets up purchased beds across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening, or use Request a Quote. Same-day delivery belongs to the hospital bed rental service, not automatically to a quoted Resten Hi-Lo.
How do I order the Resten Hi-Lo?
Use Request a Quote or call (905) 451-7743. Tell us whether you want TWIN XL (38" X 80") or QUEEN (59" x 80"), and whether you need rails or a mattress. We confirm the carton, the warranty that ships with it, and a setup date before anything leaves the shop.
What is included with this Resten Hi-Lo?
You get the Resten Hi-Lo elevating base with the wireless remote and app control, in the size you pick under Size. Resten includes the caster upgrade (5 inch casters) on Twin XL and Queen, and the sell sheet says 2 inch legs are provided. Side rails and a mattress are not in the carton. A headboard is not included.
What is the weight capacity of the Resten Hi-Lo?
Resten's current Hi-Lo page lists a maximum client weight of up to 410 lb. Confirm the figure for Twin XL or Queen when you request a quote. If you need a wider hospital-style frame with a higher rating, ask us about a bariatric hospital bed instead of stretching this base.
What happens if the power goes out?
Resten has not published a battery-backup spec for this Hi-Lo. The bed stays in the last position if the power fails. Call (905) 451-7743 if you need a backup plan for the person in the bed, or start with a hospital-bed rental that includes the backup the rental fleet uses.
What is the warranty on the Resten Hi-Lo?
Resten's current Hi-Lo page states 3 years on electric parts and 15 years on the frame. We confirm the term that ships with your order on the quote. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work on our service and repairs page.
