Description

The Raz AT tilt commode is Raz Design's attendant-tilt mobile shower chair, made in Toronto, for homes and clinics in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The attendant tilts the seat up to 40°. Raz rates the current AT at 407 lb (185 kg).

This is the tilting chair in Raz's stainless family. The non-tilt attendant sibling is the Raz AP. The non-tilt self-propel sibling is the Raz SP. For a 30° Canadian stainless tilt instead, see the Maple Leaf Tilt Commode.

Who this tilt shower commode is for

This chair is for a person who needs an attendant to push and tilt a shower commode, stays at or under Raz's 407 lb rating, and needs more than a fixed seat. Families here usually call when the attendant wants gas-spring tilt, a headrest, and a commode pan on one stainless frame.

Raz writes that the AT tilts up to 40° to provide extra pressure reduction and comfort. That is Raz's sentence. Westin does not give medical advice.

  • Attendant tilt up to 40° (36° at the 25 in seat-to-floor setting)
  • 407 lb (185 kg) stainless chair with a small headrest and tilt-assist pedal
  • Four dual-locking 5 in (125 mm) casters and a commode pan

Tilt, height, and toilet clearance

Raz prints locking gas springs and dual tilt triggers. The manual says the maximum tilt is 40° at the lowest height and 36° at a 25 in seat-to-floor. Tilt only with the casters locked. The tilt-assist pedal is standard so the attendant can start the tilt with a leg.

Seat-to-floor with the moulded seat is 21 to 25 in (53 to 64 cm) in 1 in steps. Clearance under the seat is 17 to 21 in (43 to 53 cm) with pan brackets and 17.75 to 21.75 in (45 to 55 cm) without. Clearance width on the standard 18 in frame is 15.75 in (40 cm). Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want the bowl checked on the floor.

  • Overall length about 40 in (102 cm) at 0° and 54 in (137 cm) at 40°
  • Product weight 61 lb (28 kg) with footrests on the 18 in frame
  • Commode pan with lid ships on the AT

Design and build

The frame and hardware are stainless steel. Raz prints a lifetime term against corrosion on that material when the chair is cleaned as the manual states.

The moulded seat is 18 in wide. Current Raz seats are 17 in or 20 in deep (43 or 51 cm), open or bridged in front. Ischial and Pelvic Alignment System (IPAS) gives up to 2 in (5 cm) of fore and aft travel so the opening can sit on the pelvis. The seat locks for a transfer and lifts off to clean.

The standard back is an 18 in fixed back with moulded vinyl and flip-up padded arms. A small moulded headrest (about 10 in by 4 in) and fixture ship on the Raz-AT. Foot supports swing away, flip up, and set for leg length without tools.

Raz AT tilt commode specifications

These figures are from Raz's current AT order form (RSD006, 2026-06-11) and the AT manual RTD036. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the Raz sheet when they fight.

Weight capacity 407 lb (185 kg). Tilt up to 40°. Seat-to-floor 21 to 25 in (53 to 64 cm). Product weight 61 lb (28 kg). Overall width 22.5 in (57 cm) with standard arm pads. Stainless steel, lifetime against corrosion. Two-year frame term and one-year term on other parts as printed in the manual.

Fixed or tilt, 40°, 30°, or 20°

Stay on the Raz AT if the attendant needs Raz's 40° tilt shower commode and 407 lb is enough. Step to the Raz AP when a fixed attendant chair is enough. Step to the Maple Leaf Tilt Commode for a 30° stainless tilt with a custom-width form at 250 lb stock. Step to the Ezee Life HL190 for a 20° aluminum tilt at 300 lb.

The Raz AP600 is a 605 lb non-tilt attendant chair, not a tilt chair.

Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see the chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Tilt shower commodes are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Raz Design manufacturer warranty

Raz's current AT manual warrants the base and back frame for 2 years and all other components for 1 year, wear excluded, for the original purchaser from a qualified Raz dealer. Stainless frame and hardware carry Raz's lifetime term against corrosion when cleaning follows the manual. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

How Much Does A Raz AT Tilt?

The Raz AT tilt commode tilts up to 40°. Raz's manual says that 40° is available at the lowest height setting. At a 25 in seat-to-floor the chair can tilt 36°. Tilt only with the casters locked.

What Is The Weight Capacity Of The Raz AT?

The Raz AT tilt commode is rated at 407 lb (185 kg) on Raz's current order form and AT manual. Stay at or under that rating. Older 350 lb figures on 2017 sheets are superseded.

What Is The Difference Between A Fixed And A Tilt Commode?

The Raz AT tilt commode lets the attendant recline the whole seat on gas springs. The Raz AP keeps a fixed seat and is lighter. Pick tilt when the attendant needs that 40° range. Pick fixed when a level seat is enough.

Can A Shower Commode Go Over A Toilet?

The Raz AT tilt commode is printed to fit over most toilets on the standard 18 in frame. Raz prints 15.75 in (40 cm) of clearance width and 17 to 21 in (43 to 53 cm) under the seat with the pan brackets. Measure the bowl before you order.

Does The Raz AT Include A Headrest?

The Raz AT tilt commode includes a small moulded headrest, about 10 in by 4 in, and the mounting fixture. Raz prints that this pad and fixture ship on the AT and the AT600.

Does ADP Cover Tilt Shower Commodes?

Funding for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario depends on the person and the program. Talk to us before you buy. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page and we will point you to the right path for your case.

What Seat Sizes Does The Raz AT Use?

The Raz AT tilt commode uses an 18 in (46 cm) wide moulded seat. Current Raz depths are 17 in or 20 in (43 or 51 cm), open or bridged.

What Is Included With The Raz AT?

The Raz AT tilt commode includes the stainless tilt frame, moulded seat, flip-up padded arms, foot supports, small headrest and fixture, tilt-assist pedal, four dual-locking 5 in casters, and a commode pan with lid. Some assembly is required, as Raz prints on the order form.

What Is The Warranty On The Raz AT?

The Raz AT tilt commode carries Raz's 2 year frame term, 1 year term on other parts, and lifetime term against corrosion on the stainless frame and hardware, as printed in RTD036. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.

Can I Rent A Tilt Shower Commode In The GTA?

Westin Healthcare rents bathroom safety equipment for short-term needs in the GTA. See the rentals hub and call (905) 451-7743 to check what is on the floor. A rental chair may be a different model than this Raz AT.
