Description
The Quantum Edge 4 is a mid-wheel Category 3 power wheelchair from Quantum Rehab. Westin Healthcare configures it to an ADP-registered therapist's prescription and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
This is a prescription rehab base, not a stock cart chair. Quantum Rehab's current spec sheet rates the Edge 4 at 300 lbs, up to 7 mph (up to 4.5 mph with iLevel), a 22.8 inch turning radius, and a 24.02 inch base with 14 inch drive wheels. Optional iLevel is 12 inches of elevate. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assessment comes first. For eligible clients, ADP can fund 75% of the approved price.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who needs a mid-wheel power base, seating that can change as needs change, and who is within Quantum's 300 lb rating on the spec sheet. Families usually call us when they want the current Edge mid-wheel with 7 inch casters, Group 24 batteries, 4-pole motors, and Smooth Ride Suspension, and when a 450 lb Edge HD is more chair than they need.
If you want the previous generation mid-wheel that is still on the ADP list, see the Quantum Edge 3. If you need 450 lbs on a mid-wheel, start with the Quantum Q6 Edge HD. If you want a front-wheel Type 3, see the Quantum 4Front 2.
- ADP Category 3 / Adult Power Base Type 3 (device code WP0002382; paediatric sibling WP0002383)
- Mid-Wheel 6, SRS, 24.02 inch base, 22.8 inch turning radius
- Optional 12 inch iLevel at up to 4.5 mph
Design and build
Quantum builds the Edge 4 as a Mid-Wheel 6 base with Smooth Ride Suspension and 4-pole motors. Drive wheels are 14 inch pneumatic or flat-free (knobby flat-free optional). Casters are 7 inch flat-free front and rear. Quantum's current page lists switch-operated LED accent lights in the casters, rear LED accent lights in the fenders, a new battery tray with improved rear battery access, and Group 24 batteries. Q-Logic 3 is the listed electronics family, with Q-Logic NES as an option. Specialty controls can be ordered. The chair does not fold.
TRU-Balance 3, TRU-Balance 4, and Flex seating are the manufacturer families. Official widths on the current spec sheet run 12 to 22 inches on TRU-Balance 3/4 power tilt and 10 to 22 inches on Flex. Optional 12 inch iLevel, power articulating foot platform, memory seating, and a Quantum backup camera are listed as options. Quantum prints 16 colours on the current Edge 4 page.
Quantum Edge 4 specifications
These figures are for the Q6 Edge 4 as printed on Quantum Rehab's current spec sheet (Rev B, July 2025). The specification tab holds the stored values.
Weight capacity 300 lbs (seating can lower that). Maximum speed up to 7 mph, or up to 4.5 mph with iLevel. Ground clearance 2.87 inches. Turning radius 22.8 inches. Overall length 38.27 inches without front riggings. Base width 24.02 inches with 14 inch drive wheels. Base weight 154 lbs without batteries. Batteries Group 24, 47.8 lbs each. Charger 8 amp off-board. Range up to 18.1 miles with Group 24 batteries on that sheet. Electronics on the current spec page: 120 amp Q-Logic 3, 90 amp Q-Logic NES.
Warranty for a Canadian purchaser follows Quantum's Canada insert: lifetime limited on the main frame and fixed-position seat post, 2 years on electronics, motors, actuators, and accessories, 6 months on bearings, and 12 months on Quantum-supplied batteries.
Colour, seat width, and seat depth
Use Color, Seat Width, and Seat Depth as the starting size and finish on the order. The therapist and Westin then complete TRU-Balance 3 or 4 or Flex seating, electronics, and power functions on the Quantum order form. Official Edge 4 seating on the spec sheet tops out at 22 inches wide. If a starting pair is wider or deeper than that, ask us before anyone treats it as an official size.
Do not treat those three choices as a finished chair. A Category 3 power wheelchair is configured after assessment.
ADP funding for a Category 3 wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
After the chair is approved and built to the prescription, Westin's own team delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the joystick, charger, and seating functions before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a mid-wheel power chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This power wheelchair is oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Quantum manufacturer warranty
Quantum's current Canada insert is lifetime limited on the main frame and fixed-position seat post, 2 years on electronics, motors, actuators, and accessories, 6 months on bearings and bushings, and 12 months on Quantum-supplied batteries. Wear items such as tyres, shrouds, and upholstery are outside that term. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What does Category 3 mean on this power wheelchair?
Quantum Rehab Canada listed the Edge 4 on the ADP Mobility Devices Product Manual effective 8 January 2026 as Adult Power Base Type 3, device code WP0002382 (paediatric WP0002383). Type 3 is for people who need ongoing changes in postural support and modifications to electronics.
Is the Edge 4 the same chair as the Edge 3?
No. They are separate ADP devices. Edge 4 is WP0002382. Edge 3 is WP0001575 and remains listed. Edge 4 adds 7 inch casters, Group 24 batteries, 4-pole motors as standard, and the current SRS package on Quantum's Edge 4 sheet.
Who qualifies for ADP funding?
In general you must be an Ontario resident with a valid health card and a disability that needs a mobility aid for 6 months or longer. An ADP-registered OT or PT has to assess you first. We cannot promise that a specific person will qualify.
How does the 75 / 25 split work?
For eligible clients, ADP pays 75% of the approved price and the person pays 25%. Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD can open 100% of that approved price. Batteries and items outside the ADP device are extra.
What is the assessment process?
An ADP-registered OT or PT examines the person, helps complete the application, and works with Westin on the configuration. Ontario aims to review complete applications within 8 weeks. Do not order before those steps.
Can I try an Edge 4 first?
Call (905) 451-7743 and ask what is on the floor. A floor chair is a starting point. The funded chair is built to the prescription.
How should the seat width fit?
The therapist measures seated hip width. Official Edge 4 seating on the spec sheet tops out at 22 inches wide. Use Seat Width and Seat Depth as the starting pair, then finish the form with us.
What is the weight capacity?
Quantum's current spec sheet lists 300 lbs. Capacity also depends on the seating on the order. Stay at or under that rating. The Q6 Edge HD is the 450 lb mid-wheel if a higher rating is required.
What if the prescription includes power tilt or recline?
Ontario treats power dynamic tilt and/or recline as high technology. Those chairs are bought through the Central Equipment Pool. Your therapist will say if that path applies.
What happens if ADP declines?
Ontario sends a letter with the reason and how to follow up, including an appeal. Do not take delivery on the assumption that funding will arrive later.
What is the warranty?
Lifetime frame, 2 years electronics and motors, 12 months Quantum batteries, on the Canada insert. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
Will it fold into a car trunk?
No. It is a full-size mid-wheel rehab base, 24.02 inches wide and 38.27 inches long without riggings, with a 154 lb base before batteries on the spec sheet.
