The mattress works without a pump. This unit adds Autofirm, alternating pressure, and powered static therapy. Westin stores SKU PMP-CBC (the CBC basic unit). The picker also lists the ES2 unit. Joerns retired ES2 (SKU PMP-ES2). The current replacement is the P.R.O. Technology control unit, PMP-CU-01.
Who this control unit is for
This pump is for a person who already has, or is ordering, a P.R.O. Matt Plus and whose clinician wants cyclic offloading. Joerns says powered alternating mode may be considered for advanced treatment of uncomplicated Stage 3 or 4 pressure injuries where that therapy may help, after individual assessment. It is not a mattress on its own and it does not fit other brands' air cells.
If you need the surface only, stay on the P.R.O. Matt Plus mattress. If you want a full-time powered air system with the pump included, look at the Domus 4.

Construction and how it works
The hose set plugs into the mattress. Autofirm fills the cells for care, then Joerns returns the unit to Therapy (static) after about fifteen minutes. Alternate mode moves air between adjacent cells, not including the foam head section. Therapy mode is powered static. Comfort Adjust has five levels on the current P.R.O. Technology unit.
CBC (the stored SKU) is the simpler unit: 10-minute cycle only, Alternate and Static, no lockout. ES2 had 5, 10, and 15 minute cycles. Joerns stopped selling ES2 in 2022 and ended service parts on 31 December 2024. The current P.R.O. Technology unit uses 5, 10, 15, and 20 minute cycles, lockout, and a 12.4 by 7.7 by 4.3 inch case. Ask us to quote PMP-CU-01 unless you have a specific reason to stay on CBC.

This pump ships with a mattress that is oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply when the surface is on the same order. If the order is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Which Westin beds this mattress fits
The pump hangs on the footboard of the bed that already holds a P.R.O. Matt Plus. It does not change the deck size. Typical frames are Joerns homecare and long-term care beds.
Service and warranty
When the pump needs work, you call the shop that set it up. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace. ES2 parts are no longer supplied by Joerns after 31 December 2024.

Do I need this pump with a P.R.O. Matt Plus?
Only if the clinician wants alternating pressure or powered static therapy. The mattress works as a non-powered hybrid without it.
Is ES2 still available?
Joerns retired PMP-ES2. New sales stopped in 2022. Service parts ended 31 December 2024. The replacement SKU is PMP-CU-01. Ask us to quote that unit if you need selectable cycle times.
How do I clean the control unit?
Wipe the case. Do not immerse it or run liquid into the filter. Joerns' manual has the cleaning steps. Keep the rear air opening clear of lint.
What mattress does it fit?
Only the Joerns P.R.O. Matt Plus. It is not a generic pump for Domus, Harmony, or Blake cells.
How loud is the pump?
Joerns does not print a decibel rating on the current spec sheet. The manual calls the current unit compact and quiet. It hangs on the footboard.
What is the warranty?
1 year on the control unit for the original purchaser. The mattress is 5 years / 1 year cover on the mattress page.
Does funding cover this control unit in Ontario?

Can I rent a Joerns pump before I buy?

What happens if the power goes out?
The mattress returns to its non-powered P.R.O. state. It does not need the pump to stay a hybrid surface.
What cycle times can I set?
CBC is 10 minutes only. The retired ES2 was 5, 10, and 15 minutes. The current P.R.O. Technology unit is 5, 10, 15, and 20 minutes.
