Description
The Savaria M-Series is a lithium-ion fixed ceiling-lift motor. Westin Healthcare sells it as SKU M929101 (internal name Monarch 2F) and delivers and sets it up for homes and care rooms in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The motor stays in the track. A strap lowers a 2-point or 4-point carry bar so a person can be transferred in a sling without a floor lift in the room.
Savaria lists this fixed family in three safe working loads: 286 lb (130 kg), 440 lb (200 kg), and 600 lb (272 kg). Ask us which motor is on your order. For the portable lithium-ion sibling you can carry between rooms, see the Savaria Monarch portable lift. For a 450 lb Handicare A-Series motor, see the Handicare A450.
Who it is for
This motor is for a person who needs regular overhead transfers and wants a lithium-ion fixed motor rather than a lead-acid C-Series or A-Series case. Homes and long-term care rooms use it when a track can be planned, or when an older track can take a retrofit motor. Pick the 286, 440, or 600 lb motor to match the person, not the highest number on the family sheet.
- Home bedrooms and bathrooms that can take a rated track
- Long-term care rooms that want a 3-year battery-included warranty
- Sites replacing a lead-acid motor on an existing major-brand track
How it lifts
A fixed M-Series motor stays in the track. The strap pays out, the carry bar comes down, loop slings hook onto SureClip latches or a 4-point bull-horn bar, and the motor raises the person. Manual traverse means you walk the bar. Power traverse adds a travel motor. Savaria names a no-fray strap path, soft start and soft stop, and a 3-Down emergency function on the clinical cards: powered emergency lowering, powered emergency raising, and a reset from the floor.
Savaria states that M-Series motors can be configured to retrofit onto track systems from major ceiling-lift manufacturers, and names FastTrack brackets for new installs. The installed safe working load is still the lowest rating among motor, track, bar, and sling. Westin's own team handles delivery and setup through the delivery section below.
Savaria M-Series specifications
These figures are for Savaria's lithium-ion fixed M-Series motor. Westin's listing SKU is M929101. Savaria's current Essential and Clinical cards print the same case size and battery, with family safe working loads of 286, 440, or 600 lb.
Savaria lists a lifting range of 231 cm (90.75 in), case size 33 x 30 x 18 cm (13 x 11.75 x 7 in), manual-traverse weight 7.5 kg (17 lb), power-traverse weight 8.5 kg (19 lb), lifting clearance 41 cm (16 in) with a manual 4-point bar and 36 cm (14 in) with a manual 2-point bar, a lithium-ion battery at 25.2 V 2500 mAh, about 2 hours to charge from empty, a 10-year product life, ISO 10535:2021 and CAN/CSA Z10535.1:15, and a 3-year warranty that includes the battery. Cycle counts on the Clinical card at a 24 inch lift are 80 cycles at 91 kg, 70 at 130 kg, 45 at 200 kg, and 30 at 272 kg.
Do not read the portable Monarch's 11 lb case onto this fixed motor. The portable sibling is a different SKU.
Slings and spreader bar
Savaria lists a 2-point carry bar with a SureClip latch for loop slings, a 4-point bull-horn bar, and a Quick Release System for swapping bars. An optional carry-bar scale is rated 600 lb (272 kg). Use slings Savaria approves for the bar on the motor, and never exceed the lowest SWL of the motor, track, bar, or sling.
Shop Westin's matching sling styles: universal slings, full-body slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings. Sit-to-stand slings belong on sit-to-stand floor lifts, not on this overhead bar. If you need a higher C-Series rating without lithium-ion, see the Handicare C625.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover patient lifts or other lifting devices. Funding routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, and hardship funding programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this ceiling lift across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a ceiling lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Ceiling lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Can I rent a patient lift before I buy?
Yes. If you only need a lift for a recovery, or you want to live with a ceiling-lift setup before you buy, rent first. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub and the patient lift rentals page. Westin rents electric floor lifts and ceiling lift setups across Brampton and the GTA.
For rentals we offer same-day delivery in Brampton, Etobicoke, Toronto, and Mississauga, and next-day delivery for other areas, with one day of notice.
If you later decide to buy, ask us about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program (an active Westin loyalty program). The rentals hub and rental program FAQs have the program rules.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Savaria M-Series warranty
Savaria prints a 3-year warranty, including the battery, on the current M-Series Essential and Clinical cards. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Does funding cover a ceiling lift in Ontario?
Funding routes exist for patient lifts in Ontario, and eligibility depends on the person and the assessment. Westin Healthcare works with those programs every week. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before anyone starts paperwork.
What is the safe working load of this M-Series motor?
Savaria offers the fixed lithium-ion family in 286 lb, 440 lb, and 600 lb. Westin's SKU M929101 is that family. Ask us which motor is on your order before you plan around 600 lb.
How is the M-Series different from the Monarch portable lift?
The M-Series on this listing is the fixed motor that stays in the track. The Monarch is the portable 11 lb motor you carry between rooms. They share lithium-ion cells and a 3-year Savaria warranty. They are not the same SKU.
Can the M-Series go on an existing track?
Savaria states that M-Series motors can be configured to retrofit onto systems from major ceiling-lift manufacturers. We still check the track rating and hardware before we quote a motor-only swap.
What slings fit the M-Series?
Loop slings on a 2-point SureClip bar or a 4-point bull-horn bar. QRS swaps bars. Use universal, full-body, toileting, or divided-leg slings rated for that bar. Do not put a sit-to-stand sling on this overhead motor.
Does the M-Series include the ceiling track?
The page price is for the motor. Track, carry bar, and slings are planned with the room. Ask us for a layout before we book the install date.
What happens if the power goes out?
Savaria names a 3-Down emergency function on the clinical cards: powered emergency lowering, powered emergency raising, and a reset from the floor. Keep the battery charged. Those features are for getting a person down safely.
Can I rent a lift before I buy this motor?
Yes. Westin rents electric floor lifts and ceiling lift setups. See current packages and rates on the rentals hub. If you later buy, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program.
How fast can a purchased M-Series be set up in the GTA?
Westin's team delivers and sets up purchased lifts across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service, not automatically to a purchased install.
What is the warranty on the M-Series?
Savaria prints 3 years, including the battery, on the current Essential and Clinical cards. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work. Details are on our service and repairs page.
