Who this sling is for
Savaria describes this sling as a full-body transfer sling with shaped leg sections for femur and hip support and an adjustable integral head support. Divided legs help the caregiver apply the sling in a chair or on a bed. Silva-Superfine PLUS is a soft 2-way stretch spacer that moulds to the person and is suitable for bathing. Savaria also names it for people with poor skin integrity, asymmetrical body shapes, limited head or trunk control, or chronic pain, when a clinician chooses this style. It is for loop carry bars, not clip bars and not Human Care E-clip bars. It is not a sit-to-stand sling.

Savaria prints one A, B, C, and D chart for this family. A is the seated shoulder / torso circumference. B is the seated back height (top of head to base of spine). Care and laundering
Savaria designs the sling for routine laundering and tumble drying. Wash at up to 95 C / 203 F with a non-biological detergent, close any hook-and-loop, and tumble dry on low heat, maximum 50 C. Follow the label sewn on the sling you receive. Those temperatures are the maximum. Do not iron the sling. Inspect loops, hip tapes, and seams before the next lift.

Attachment and which lifts this fits
The In-situ Deluxe Leg Sling is a loop sling. Savaria prints colour-coded destination loops so caregivers can record the same loop choice in the care plan. Attach the two shoulder straps to the carry bar, then the two leg straps. It does not use clip fixings. It does not use Human Care E-clips. Use it only with a suitable loop lift and a loop type spreader bar.
On our floor it belongs on a loop carry bar: the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, the Handicare A450, or the two-point SlingBar on the Handicare Carina 350. Shop the family in divided-leg slings, full-body slings, and universal slings. Do not put this sling on a Human Care mushroom bar, on a stud / clip bar, or on a sit-to-stand thorax bar.
If you want the everyday commode-aperture Universal instead, stay with the Handicare Universal Sling.

Once the patient has been transferred, this sling can be left in-situ, subject to an appropriate risk assessment. Superfine PLUS is the spacer fabric Savaria specifies for that use. A clinician writes the risk assessment before the sling stays under the person.
Does it have head support?
Yes. The integral head support is adjustable and has removable stiffeners. The head-support strap can run through the shoulder strap or go straight to the carry bar.
Can it be used for bathing?
Yes. Savaria states that Silva-Superfine PLUS is suitable for bathing. The spacer is a 2-way stretch that moulds to the person.
How do I wash it?
Follow the sling label. Savaria names a wash of 95 C / 203 F and tumble dry on low heat, maximum 50 C. Use a non-biological detergent, close hook-and-loop, and do not iron. Inspect loops and seams after every wash.
