Description

The Leckey Totstander is Leckey's simple upright pediatric stander for children about 1-5 years. Westin Healthcare quotes it after a clinical assessment, then delivers and sets it up for families in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

Sunrise Medical Canada prints a chest-support height of 18.5-26 in and a capacity of 48 lb (22 kg). Leckey also describes it as an evaluation tool so a therapist can see how a child stands. The child's occupational therapist or physiotherapist directs that trial. We do not give clinical advice.

Who this stander is for

This stander is for a young child whose therapy team wants a simple upright frame, not a 3-in-1 tilt stander. Families usually call us when a therapist has named Totstander, or when they want a first standing trial before quoting Squiggles or Freestander.

  • Children about 1-5 years who need flexible chest support, knee supports, and floor-level sandals
  • Clinics that will use the frame as an assessment tool
  • Homes that want a small 18 x 18 in base (printed on the January 2025 order form)

The Canada card does not print a user-height band. We will not invent one. The therapist's measurements write the quote.

How the Totstander stands

It is upright only. Chest support, knees, and sandals adjust. There is no prone or supine angle on the Canada card. A caregiver stays with the child in the frame. If the therapist later wants prone, supine, or abduction, we requote Squiggles, Squiggles+, Freestander, or the R82 Caribou.

Leckey Totstander specifications

These figures are from Sunrise Medical Canada's current Totstander card, with the 18 x 18 in base from the January 2025 order form. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Age 1-5 years. Chest support height 18.5-26 in (470-660.5 mm). User weight 48 lb (22 kg). Base 18 x 18 in (450 x 450 mm). Leckey manuals print a three year warranty on manufactured products and components. Sunrise Canada notes provincial and funding variation.

Totstander, Freestander, or Squiggles

Stay with Totstander when the therapist wants a simple upright trial. Move to Freestander for a fuller upright system. Move to Squiggles or Squiggles+ when the child needs prone or supine as well.

Funding help for a pediatric stander in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) lists pediatric walkers, standers, and strollers as funded mobility aids. ADP can fund 75% of the cost of a pediatric stander when it is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full client share. Not every product or situation qualifies, so talk to us and the child's therapy team before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Easter Seals Ontario, and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this stander across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble the frame, and show you the chest support, knees, and sandals before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a stander first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Purchased standers are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

If the stander is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
