Description
The Little Wave XP pediatric wheelchair is Ki Mobility's pediatric rigid wheelchair canada chair for children who self-propel. Westin Healthcare configures it to prescription for families in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. This is not an off-the-shelf cart chair. The child's ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assesses first. Then Westin writes the seat, the growth, and the colours on Ki's order form.
Ki lists the Little Wave XP at 10.8 lbs (4.9 kg) on the defined 12 by 12 inch transport setup, with a 16 lb (7.3 kg) standard weight and a 165 lb (74.8 kg) rating. The frame is 7000 series aluminum with 1 3/8 inch tubing. Seat width and seat depth as sold run 10 to 16 inches. The growable frame can reach 19 inches wide.
Who this kids ultralight wheelchair is for
This chair is for a child who will push on the handrims, who fits Ki's 10 to 16 inch seat, and whose therapist wants a rigid daily frame rather than a folding cross brace. Families usually call us when an adult rigid is too tall at the seat, too wide, or has wheel access the child cannot reach.
If the family needs a trunk fold, start with the Little Wave Clik. If you need tilt, see the Little Wave Arc. A live ADP pediatric rigid already on this site is the Ki Mobility Rogue XP.

- 10.8 lbs (4.9 kg) on Ki's defined 12 by 12 transport setup
- In-frame width growth and up to 3 inches of depth growth
Design and build
Ki builds the Little Wave XP with the same 7000 series 1 3/8 inch aluminum used on its high-performance rigid frames. The tower sets centre of gravity and backrest place without fighting hardware. The flip-up footplate is 6061 aluminum with a lift strap so the rider can raise it without bending down.
In-frame Xpanders grow width when the child needs it. They are not on the chair on day one, so they are not extra weight. Depth up to 3 inches is selected on the order. Height-adjustable stroller handles come off (single or double, standard or tall). An optional rotating 5th wheel lets the therapist set a more aggressive rear wheel and midline access. Camber is 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 degrees. Rear wheels come off for the car. The frame does not fold.
How the Little Wave XP grows
Width growth uses the Xpanders. The current order prints a maximum seat width of 19 inches on the growable frame. As sold, width and depth are 10 to 16 inches. Adjustable depth on the order is none, 1/2 inch, 1 inch, 2 inches, or 3 inches. A long sling, when depth growth is on the order, can run up to 2 inches longer than the seat depth.

Little Wave XP, Rogue XP, or Clik
The Little Wave XP is the pediatric rigid wheelchair canada daily chair in the Little Wave ladder: 10.8 lb transport, 10 to 16 inch seat, 165 lb rating. The live Rogue XP is Ki's performance pediatric rigid: 11.4 lb transport, 10 to 18 inch width, 10 to 20 inch depth, 200 lb rating, and power-assist compatibility. Choose Little Wave XP when the child is smaller and the therapist wants the classic Little Wave growth hardware. Choose Rogue XP when the child needs the wider, deeper, higher-capacity rigid.
The Little Wave Clik is the folding kids ultralight wheelchair. The Little Wave Arc is the tilt chair. Stroller-style tilt is the Little Wave Flip. A live ADP folding seating base is the Spark.
Funding help for a wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area after the assessment, the configuration, and the ADP submission are in place. We bring it in, check the wheel locks and the anti-tips, and show you the Xpanders and the quick-release rear wheels before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Does The Little Wave XP Fold?
No. The Little Wave XP is a rigid frame. Rear wheels come off for the car, which is how Ki reaches the 10.8 lb transport figure. If you need a cross-brace fold, use the Little Wave Clik.
Little Wave XP Or Rogue XP?
The Little Wave XP is the 10.8 lb Little Wave rigid with a 10 to 16 inch seat and a 165 lb rating. The Rogue XP is Ki's performance pediatric rigid: 11.4 lb transport, 10 to 18 by 10 to 20 inches, 200 lb rating, and power-assist compatibility. The child's therapist picks the frame that matches size and skill.

What Seat Width Does A Child Need?
The Little Wave XP seat width as sold runs 10 to 16 inches. The child's therapist measures seated hip width. We will not guess a width from a photo.

What Colours Can We Order?
Ki's current Little Wave XP page lists gloss, matte, and hydrographic frame colours. The therapist picks colour on the order.
What Is The Warranty?
Ki Mobility warrants the Little Wave XP frame and quick-release axles for the life of the original purchaser, and other Ki-made parts for one year. Wear items are outside that term. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
What Happens If ADP Declines?
Ontario sends a letter with the reason and the appeal route. Do not take delivery of a custom chair on the assumption that a decline will reverse. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will walk through the letter with you and the child's therapist.
