Description
The Ki Mobility Liberty is a Category 5 tilt-in-space wheelchair that also folds. Westin Healthcare configures it to prescription for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. This is not an off-the-shelf cart chair. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assesses first. Then Westin builds the seat, the back, and the hangers on Ki's order form.
Ki's current Liberty page lists 0 to 20 degrees of tilt, a 250 lb capacity, and a folding transport weight of 25.8 lb (16 by 16, arms, footrests, and rear wheels off). A rigid base is also on the Canada order form at 24.5 lb. Front seat height stays the same through the tilt, which is how Ki sells foot propulsion on this chair.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who needs a short-range dynamic tilt and also needs the chair to fold for a car or a small home, and whose therapist has still chosen a Category 5 tilt rather than a standard folding wheelchair. The person may foot-propel or hand-propel. A caregiver can fold the base for transport.
If the person needs 45 or 50 degrees of Complex Rotation instead of 20 degrees of gas-spring tilt, start with the Ki Mobility CR45 or the Focus CR. Those two do not fold. Browse our tilt wheelchairs if you are still comparing Category 5 bases.
- Category 5 manual dynamic tilt after an ADP-registered therapist assessment
- A folding tilt base with 0 to 20 degrees of gas-spring tilt
- A 250 lb Ki rating and a 14 to 22 inch seat
Design and build
Liberty is sold with a folding base or a rigid base. The folding base is the chair Westin names and slugs here. Ki uses high-pressure metal molding on the side frames so the transport weight stays low. Tilt is a gas spring, not the Dual Path rotary used on CR45 and Focus CR.
Width, depth, back height, seat-to-floor, and centre of gravity are adjustable on the frame. Mag wheels in 20, 22, and 24 inch are a Ki option. Transit is available. Ki prints that WC-19 transit applies with the folding backrest only. Colour is chosen on the order. Hangers swing away or elevate.
- Folding tilt base (rigid base also on the Canada form)
- 0 to 20 degree gas-spring tilt
- Seat 14 to 22 inches wide, 14 to 20 inches deep
- Seat height 13 to 20 inches
- Folding transport weight 25.8 lb on Ki's defined setup
- Transit with the folding backrest
Ki Mobility Liberty specifications
These figures are for the Ki Mobility Liberty Westin configures from Ki's current product page and the Canada order form dated 1/5/2026. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the 250 lb / 25.8 lb folding / 0 to 20 degree lines, not a 265 lb / 39 lb / Foldable No paste if that still appears on the tab.
Seat width 14 to 22 inches. Seat depth 14 to 20 inches. Seat height 13 to 20 inches. Tilt 0 to 20 degrees. Capacity 250 lb. Folding transport weight 25.8 lb. Rigid transport weight 24.5 lb. Those transport weights are for a 16 by 16 fixed back with armrests, footrests, and rear wheels removed. Transit yes, folding backrest only.
Warranty for the original purchaser is lifetime on the frame, cross braces, hangers, and quick-release axles, and one year on other Ki-made parts, in North America. Upholstery, tires, armrest pads, tubes, armrests, and push-handle grips are outside that term.
Colour, Seat Width, Seat Depth, and hangers
Use Colour, Seat Width, and Seat Depth with the therapist so the chair matches the prescription. Ki widths run 14 to 22 inches. Depths run 14 to 20 inches. Folding versus rigid is set on the Ki order form. The chair Westin names here is the folding tilt.
Use Legrest Footrest Type to set swing-away or elevating hangers. Wheel size, transit, and back style stay on the order form that Westin submits with you.
ADP funding for a Category 5 wheelchair in Ontario
This chair is an ADP-eligible category device. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) pays 75% of the approved price for eligible clients, and clients receiving Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD support can be covered for the full cost. The route starts with an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who confirms the need and the right category before anything is ordered: a chair bought before approval is not reimbursed. Westin Healthcare works with ADP authorizers and submissions every week, configures the chair to the prescription, and walks you through the paperwork. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to start the conversation.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area after the assessment, the configuration, and the ADP submission are in place. We bring it in, check the tilt and the fold, and show you the wheel locks, the hangers, and the tilt release before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Ki Mobility manufacturer warranty
Ki warrants the Liberty frame, cross braces, hangers, and quick-release axles for the life of the original purchaser, and other Ki-made parts for one year from first consumer purchase, in North America. Wear items such as upholstery, tires, armrest pads, tubes, armrests, and grips are outside that term. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What does Category 5 mean if this chair folds?
Category 5 is Ontario's adult manual dynamic tilt class. Liberty is a tilt chair that also folds. ADP lists it as an adult manual dynamic tilt device. Folding does not move it into the everyday Type 1 or Type 2 class. It is still a prescription tilt, not a transport chair.
Who qualifies for ADP on a Liberty?
Ontario residents with a valid health card who need a mobility aid for six months or longer may apply. An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist has to assess the person before the chair is ordered. We cannot promise that a given buyer will be approved.
How does the 75 / 25 split work?
For eligible clients, ADP can fund 75 percent of the approved price of an eligible manual wheelchair. The client pays the remaining 25 percent. People on Ontario Works, ODSP, or ACSD can be covered at 100 percent.
What is the assessment process?
An ADP-registered OT or PT confirms that a generic or transport chair will not meet the need, trials tilt when that is the minimum device, and writes the prescription. Westin helps complete the application and submits it. A chair bought before approval is not reimbursed.
How long does ADP take?
Ontario aims to review a mobility-aid application within about eight weeks of receiving it. A configured Liberty then has a build time. Ask us for a current picture when the paperwork is ready.
Can we trial a Liberty?
Westin can show a Category 5 tilt at a Brampton or Toronto store when one is on the floor. The therapist's trial is what decides folding versus rigid and the 20 degree tilt. A floor chair may not match the final seat size.
What seat width do I need?
Ki lists 14 to 22 inches wide and 14 to 20 inches deep. Measure seated hip width with the therapist. This chair is not a 24 inch Focus CR seat.
Who pushes this chair?
The person can foot-propel or hand-propel. A caregiver can also push from the handles and work the tilt. Front seat height stays put through the tilt, which is the point of the Liberty geometry for foot propulsion.
Will it fold into a car trunk?
The folding base is built for that. Ki lists a 25.8 lb folding transport weight on a stripped 16 by 16 setup. The chair you lift at the car will be heavier once wheels, arms, and hangers are on. We can show you the fold at delivery.
What is the warranty?
Lifetime on the frame, cross braces, hangers, and quick-release axles for the original purchaser, and one year on other Ki-made parts. Wear items are outside that term. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
What happens if ADP declines?
Ontario sends a letter with the reason and the appeal route. Do not take delivery of a custom chair on the assumption that a decline will reverse. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will walk through the letter with you and the therapist.
Is Liberty the same chair as the CR45?
No. Liberty is a 0 to 20 degree gas-spring tilt that folds, at 250 lb. CR45 is a 0 to 45 degree Dual Path tilt that does not fold, at 300 lb. They are separate Ki models.
