Description
The JAY GO cushion is Sunrise Medical's 3 inch (7.6 cm) dual-layer foam wheelchair cushion with a Dartex moisture-resistant cover for a person at low risk of skin breakdown who needs mild stability in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The current card rates 14 to 21 inch widths at 330 lbs (150 kg) and 22 to 24 inch widths at 500 lbs (227 kg). A 16 by 18 inch size weighs 2.5 lbs (1.1 kg).
This is the stretch-cover foam step on the JAY ladder. Widths and depths both run 14 to 24 inches (36 to 61 cm). It is a family size, not a single 16 by 16 cushion.
Who this cushion is for
The JAY GO cushion fits a person who wants a softer top layer over a firmer base, and whose therapist still calls the skin risk low. Sunrise writes it for mild stability. A seating therapist should confirm that Dartex foam is enough if sitting time is long or sensation is reduced.
- 3 inch (7.6 cm) dual-layer foam
- Dartex-coated Lycra cover, water-resistant zipper
- 330 lb (150 kg) to 500 lb (227 kg) by width
Dual-layer foam and Dartex cover
The JAY GO cushion uses a firm bottom layer for a stable base and a soft top layer for sitting tolerance. Mild contouring adds support without a deep well. The four-way stretch Lycra is coated with Dartex so the surface wipes clean. A water-resistant zipper and anti-wicking thread are how Sunrise keeps fluid off the foam.
It is foam, not JAY Flow fluid. If you need a pressure relief cushion with fluid, look at the JAY Union Cushion or the JAY Fusion with Cryo.

Which JAY wheelchair cushion fits
The JAY GO cushion is the dual-layer Dartex foam JAY. Stay here if low skin risk and a wipe-clean stretch cover are the brief. The JAY Basic Cushion is the 2 inch sling-seat foam. The JAY Soft Combi P Cushion is moderate contour and coated foam. The JAY Ion Cushion is foam skin protection and positioning. The JAY Fusion with Cryo is the current fluid and cooling step.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Service and warranty
When something on the cushion needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Sunrise Medical JAY warranty
The JAY GO owner's manual prints 24 months on the cushion and 6 months on the removable cover, for the original purchaser. Punctures, tears, and burns sit outside that term. Sunrise notes that Canadian terms can follow provincial funding rules. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Wheelchair Cushion Do I Need?
The JAY GO cushion is ordered by seat width and depth from 14 to 24 inches. A seating therapist measures hip width in sitting. Use Choose Width and Choose Depth. A 16 by 16 is one size in that range.
How Do I Choose Between Gel, Foam, And Air Cushions?
The JAY GO cushion is dual-layer foam with a Dartex cover. JAY Flow fluid (often searched as gel) sits in Union, Fusion, and J2. Fusion can also take an air insert. Pick GO for foam comfort with a wipe-clean stretch cover.
Does ADP Cover Wheelchair Cushions?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a wheelchair cushion or back support after an ADP-registered therapist assessment with an eligible mobility device. Eligibility depends on the person. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Is The JAY GO Cushion Only 16 By 16?
The JAY GO cushion is sold here in widths and depths from 14 to 24 inches. The 16 by 16 size is one option, not the whole family.
What Is The Weight Limit For The JAY GO Cushion?

How Do I Clean The JAY GO Cushion?
The JAY GO cushion has a Dartex cover you wipe or wash. The zipper and anti-wicking thread are there to keep fluid off the foam. Do not soak the foam.
How Long Is The JAY GO Warranty?
The JAY GO cushion carries 24 months on the cushion and 6 months on the cover in the owner's manual, for the original purchaser.
