Description
The JAY Fusion with Cryo Technology cushion is Sunrise Medical's foam and CryoFluid wheelchair cushion for skin protection in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The dedicated Cryo card rates 16 to 21 inch widths at 330 lbs (150 kg) and the 22 inch width at 500 lbs (227 kg). A 16 by 18 inch size weighs 5.3 lbs (2.4 kg). Standard height is 4 inches (10 cm). Reduced Profile is 3 inches (7.6 cm). Widths and depths on that card run 14 to 22 inches (36 to 56 cm).
Sunrise prints that CryoFluid is designed to reduce the risk of pressure injuries and to cool the seated skin surface for up to 8 hours in internal testing at 25 C (77 F). Results may vary. The Fusion you order here uses the Cryo insert, not JAY Flow or the air insert.
Who this cushion is for
The JAY Fusion with Cryo Technology cushion fits a person whose therapist wants an adjustable fluid cushion and the Cryo cooling option. Sunrise writes Fusion as the cushion that combines J2 skin-protection capability with J3 stability. A seating therapist should confirm Cryo versus standard JAY Flow, and should set the well, before first use.
- CryoFluid insert, paraffin-wax and graphite microbeads
- Pre-contoured closed-cell base with a posterior pelvic wall
- 330 lb (150 kg) to 500 lb (227 kg) on the Cryo card
CryoFluid, pressure, and cover
The JAY Fusion with Cryo Technology cushion uses a pre-contoured closed-cell foam base, a high-resiliency layer, and a posterior pelvic wall. CryoFluid sits in the pelvic loading area. Sunrise prints that heat from the skin melts the microbeads and that graphite spreads that heat, and that the beads re-solidify when the fluid returns to room temperature. The inner cover is Dartex-coated Lycra with a water-resistant zipper. The outer cover is machine-washable silver-thread stretch with 3DX spacer fabric.
Sunrise's cooling claim is maker testing at 25 C, with results that may vary. A seating therapist still owns the skin-care plan.

Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Service and warranty
When something on the cushion needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Sunrise Medical JAY warranty
The JAY Fusion owner's manual prints 24 months on the cushion and 6 months on the removable cover, for the original purchaser. That term includes the CryoFluid insert. Punctures, tears, and burns sit outside that term. Sunrise notes that Canadian terms can follow provincial funding rules. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
