Description

The JAY Fusion cushion is Sunrise Medical's adjustable wheelchair cushion for Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The current Canada card rates 14 to 21 inch widths at 330 lbs (150 kg) and 22 to 24 inch widths at 500 lbs (227 kg). A 16 by 18 inch size weighs 5.3 lbs (2.4 kg). Standard height is 4 inches (10 cm). Reduced Profile on the Canada card is 3 3/8 inches. This page is the parent Fusion. The dedicated Cryo build stays on JAY Fusion with Cryo Technology.

Sunrise writes Fusion as the cushion that combines J2 skin-protection capability with J3 stability. Inserts on this family are JAY Flow fluid, an air insert, or CryoFluid.

Who this cushion is for

The JAY Fusion cushion fits a person whose therapist wants an adjustable fluid or air well, not foam only. Stay here for JAY Flow or the air insert. Use the Cryo page when the order is CryoFluid. A seating therapist should set the well before first use.

  • JAY Flow, air (single or dual valve), or CryoFluid
  • Pre-contoured closed-cell base with a posterior pelvic wall
  • 330 lb (150 kg) to 500 lb (227 kg) by width

Inserts, well, and cover

The JAY Fusion cushion uses a pre-contoured closed-cell foam base, a high-resiliency layer, and a posterior pelvic wall. The pelvic loading area follows average pelvic-bone width for each cushion width. JAY Flow is zero-maintenance fluid. The air insert is field-adjustable for asymmetry. CryoFluid is the cooling fluid option and is sold as its own Westin page. The inner cover is Dartex-coated Lycra with a water-resistant zipper. The outer cover on the Canada card is X-static silver-thread stretch with 3DX spacer fabric, a handle, a zipper flap, and waterfall seams.

JAY Fusion Cushion specifications

These figures are from Sunrise Medical's current Canada Fusion card. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Product weight 5.3 lbs (2.4 kg) at 16 by 18 inches. User weight capacity 330 lbs (150 kg) on 14 to 21 inch widths and 500 lbs (227 kg) on 22 to 24 inch widths. Insert: JAY Flow, air, or CryoFluid. Width and depth

Use Seat Width and Seat Depth. Those controls on this product run 16 to 21 inches. Sunrise's family card also prints 14, 15, 22, 23, and 24 inches. Ask us if the assessment needs a size outside 16 to 21. A seating therapist measures hip width in sitting. Ask us if you need the Reduced Profile height.

Which JAY wheelchair cushion fits

The JAY Fusion cushion is the current adjustable fluid, air, or Cryo family. Stay here for JAY Flow or air. The JAY Fusion with Cryo Technology Cushion is the Cryo-only page. The JAY J2 Standard Cushion is the 2.5 inch fluid well. The JAY J2 Deep Contour Cushion is the 4.5 inch fluid well. The JAY Union Cushion is foam plus standard JAY Flow without an air option. The JAY Ion Cushion is foam only.

Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario

This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers this wheelchair cushion across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, check the size against the chair, and show you the insert orientation and the dual covers before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a JAY cushion first. For a scheduled in-home drop-off, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased cushions are delivered on a scheduled date.

If the cushion is going outside the GTA, ask us for a shipping quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the cushion needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Sunrise Medical JAY warranty

The JAY Fusion owner's manual prints 24 months on the cushion and 6 months on the removable cover, for the original purchaser. That term includes the JAY Flow and CryoFluid inserts. Punctures, tears, and burns sit outside that term. Sunrise notes that Canadian terms can follow provincial funding rules. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
