Description

The Nexus 3 rollator is Human Care's Type 3 4-wheel rollator with a seat, built on the Dana Douglas Nexus line from Ottawa. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It uses 8 inch wheels and a cable-free brake. It is not the indoor Nexus oNe.

Human Care's November 2023 sheet rates the Nexus 3 at 441 lb (200 kg). Three seat heights sit at 19, 22, and 24 in. The frame weighs 16.9-17.3 lb (7.6-7.8 kg). The same patented cross-fold as the oNe stands folded with the bag on. Colours are Black, Blue, and Red (Burgundy).

Who this rollator is for

This rollator is for a person who stays at or under the 441 lb rating, fits a 17.5 in (45 cm) grip width, and wants a 4 wheel walker for indoor floors and outdoor pavement. Families usually call us when they want the Nexus fold and they need 8 inch wheels rather than the oNe's 6 inch indoor set.

If the route is mostly hallways and aisles, start with the Human Care Nexus oNe. If you want another Canadian Type 3, see the Amylior Stella or the Triumph Escape.

  • Daily indoor and paved outdoor use with 8 inch wheels
  • A 441 lb rating on every size
  • Cable-free brakes and a cross-fold that stands on its own

Fit and height

Stand with your arms relaxed at your sides and measure from the floor to the crease of your wrist. That number should fall inside the handle range for the seat you pick.

Super Low: seat 19 in (48 cm), handles 30.5-34.1 in (78-86 cm). Low: seat 22 in (56 cm), handles 30.5-36.5 in (78-93 cm). Standard: seat 24 in (61 cm), handles 32.5-39.8 in (83-101 cm). Width between handles is 17.5 in (45 cm) on all three. The backstrap flips for two-position seating. We set the height at delivery.

Wheels, brakes, and folding

The Nexus 3 uses 8 x 1.2 in wheels. Human Care's February 2025 manual states indoor and outdoor use. Cable-free anatomic brakes have a red visual ball and no cables to catch on furniture.

The patented cross-fold (side-fold X frame) stands independently when folded, bag still on. You can fold it part way to pass a narrow door without losing the walking stance Human Care designed into the X.

Weight and portability

Human Care prints 16.9 lb (7.6 kg) on Super Low, 17 lb (7.7 kg) on Low, and 17.3 lb (7.8 kg) on Standard. Overall width is 23 in (58 cm). That is a trunk fold, and the frame stands while you close the hatch.

The soft zippered bag is rated 11 lb (5 kg). Human Care also lists a tray (4.4 lb), a hard basket (10 lb), a cane or umbrella holder, a cup holder, a curb climber, and a slow-down brake. Ask us if you want those.

Nexus 3 specifications

These figures are for the Human Care neXus 3 product sheet (Rev 05, November 2023) and the February 2025 user manual. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use 441 lb, not a leftover 330 or 350 lb line. Use Super Low 19 in, not 18.5 in.

Capacity 441 lb (200 kg). Seats 19, 22, and 24 in. Wheels 8 x 1.2 in. Overall width 23 in. Width between handles 17.5 in. Colours Black, Blue, and Red (Burgundy). SKUs 470018/B/R, 470022/B/R, 470024/B/R. Warranty for a Canadian purchaser follows Human Care Canada's rollator statement: 5 years on the frame for the Nexus series, 1 year on distributed parts. Wear items sit outside that term. Human Care asks for a yearly authorized-dealer inspection to keep the term.

Colour and size

Use Choose Color for Black, Blue, or Red. Use Choose Rollator Size for Super Low 19 inch, Low 22 inch, or Standard 24 inch.

Nexus 3 or Nexus oNe

The Nexus 3 is the Type 3 8 inch frame at 441 lb. The Nexus oNe is the Type 2 6 inch indoor frame at 353 lb. Both share the cross-fold and the cable-free brake. The Amylior Stella is the other Type 3 with cable brakes and a 14.75 lb standard frame. The Triumph Escape is the Type 3 T-frame that stands folded.

Funding help for a walker or rollator in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a walker or rollator when the need is long-term and the aid is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every model qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this rollator across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, set the handle height, and show you the cable-free brakes and the cross-fold before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a rollator first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased rollators are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

This rollator is larger than small parcel goods. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the rollator is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the rollator needs work, you call the shop that set it up. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Human Care manufacturer warranty

Human Care Canada's current rollator statement covers the original purchaser for 5 years on the Nexus frame and 1 year on distributed parts. Wear from regular use sits outside that term. Human Care asks that an authorized dealer inspect the rollator each year. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

Walker vs Rollator: Which Is Better?

A walker is a frame you lift or slide, often with small front wheels and no seat. A rollator rolls on three or four wheels, has hand brakes, and usually has a seat. The Human Care Nexus 3 is a 4-wheel rollator with a seat and 8 inch wheels.

How Do I Choose a Rollator Height?

Measure from the floor to the crease of your wrist with your arms relaxed. Pick the Human Care Nexus 3 whose handle range includes that number: 30.5-34.1 in on Super Low, 30.5-36.5 in on Low, or 32.5-39.8 in on Standard.

Does ADP Cover Rollators?

Some Ontario routes can help with mobility equipment, including wheeled walkers, when the need is long-term and an assessment supports it. Eligibility depends on the person's situation. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.

What Is the Weight Capacity of the Nexus 3?

The Human Care Nexus 3 is rated at 441 lb (200 kg) on Human Care's November 2023 sheet and February 2025 manual. Stay at or under that rating.

How Much Does the Nexus 3 Weigh?

The Human Care Nexus 3 weighs 16.9 lb (7.6 kg) on Super Low, 17 lb (7.7 kg) on Low, and 17.3 lb (7.8 kg) on Standard.

Will a 4 Wheel Walker Fit in a Car?

The Human Care Nexus 3 cross-folds and stands on its own, bag still on. Overall width is 23 in (58 cm). We can walk through the fold at delivery.

Nexus 3 or Nexus oNe: Which Should I Get?

The Human Care Nexus 3 is the Type 3 with 8 inch wheels and a 441 lb rating. The Nexus oNe is the Type 2 indoor model with 6 inch wheels and a 353 lb rating. Pick the 3 for mixed indoor and outdoor pavement. Pick the oNe for tight indoor routes.

Can I Use the Nexus 3 Outdoors?

Human Care's February 2025 Nexus 3 manual states indoor and outdoor use. The 8 inch wheels are the Type 3 size for pavement and similar ground. It is not an all-terrain or trail rollator.

What Is the Warranty on the Nexus 3?

Human Care Canada prints 5 years on the Nexus frame and 1 year on distributed parts, for the original purchaser. Wear items sit outside that term.
